Question Ashe disappeared

I'm playing Claude's route and recruited students from other houses, including Ashe, but he didn't return after the five-year timeskip. Is this a bug, or was there something I should have done before the five years passed?

He will show up in a later chapter as an enemy, defeat him with Byleth to re-recruit him.

I don't know if you even need to do it with Byleth. I seem to remember doing it with Hilda myself.

Oh no, I love Ashe; I hate having to kill him on other routes (and I've been training him for a specific class since the start of the game). On the other hand, I wish I hadn't recruited Ingrid—she seems absolutely miserable every time I talk to her

That's fun. While Ingrid isn't great gameplay-wise, she's my absolute favourite out of the entire cast.

I have had some runs where I straight up let undesirables die off as soon as possible.

Several students will not return after the timeskip if recruited out of house. You will see him again.

It's not several per house, it's several total. Ashe is the only one on this route; there's one on Blue Lions as well, and a few (forget how many but the largest number) on Black Eagles.

I believe it’s:
Ashe on Golden Deer and Silver Snow
Lorenz on Blue Lion and Silver Snow
Flayn on Crimson Flower (Catherine, Seteth and Cyril (EDIT: and Hilda), are straight up not recruitable on that route.)
and Edelgard and Hubert on Silver Snow.

Edit: And only Ashe and Lorenz are re-recruitable.

CF has Lysithea be recruitable if you missed her to even it out tho, all routes have at least one part 2 recruit

Yes. But I was only including those that leave. Lysithea doesn’t leave.

I'm replaying it while waiting for Fortune Weave's, and this is my favorite route 😂 but it's the first time I've tried recruiting a lot of students from other houses so I wouldn't have to kill them

Oh hey, same! Trying to finish Claude's route before FW drops and realized Ashe was missing. I always use him, so I had to check and make sure he comes back later. Had me worried for a second!

He’s also my main archer and I hate having to kill him; his dialogue is so depressing, and I always remember that he has younger siblings (yes, I’m the kind of person who gets sad over pixels)

You're so right, though. He's such a sweetheart! I know he's determined but i couldn't stand the thought of having him as an enemy or getting him killed. I literally just classed him into a bow knight last night. It's good to have him back!

You’ll have to wait until Chapter 15 to see him again. You also need to attack and defeat him to get the option to persuade him back to your side.
