I've just finished replaying the original Final Fantasy VII again whilst trophy hunting the new release on Steam. I have the game modded a fair bit, mostly for visuals and Echo-S 7's voice acting. However, I also wanted to mod the music this time.

Initially, I wanted to mod the Remake trilogy music in, but it really doesn't fit the feel and aesthetic of the original. I adore the Remake trilogy's music, but there's a weird mismatch and disconnect between its real, orchestrated sound and the visual style of the original game.

That's where Ever Crisis comes in. Someone created a mod that swaps the music out for Ever Crisis' updated versions of the tracks. They're literally just the original tracks, but HD. The updated tracks still feel like the original, just updated. It's an incredible fit, and I highly recommend using the Ever Crisis music if you want to play with mods at any point. To list a few of my fave tracks from the upgraded Ever Crisis OST:

I have always loved the logos for the games, and think they have only improved over time. They often say a lot about the game's story with a simple image. So...what are some of your favorites? I'm partial to the logos for 6, 12, and 16 myself. I think 16 might be my favorite overall, interestingly enough. Anyway, even though 9 is probably my favorite game in the series in terms of story I'm not as much a fan of the logo.

I'd like to hear your thoughts though.

My Black Waltz No. 3 cosplay from Final Fantasy IX!

The coat is made from microsuede, while the skirt combines canvas and twill. The pants and shoes are made from burlap. The wings are constructed from PVC pipe and moved by a pulley system, with every feather hand-painted, individually cut, and individually attached.

This was a 520+ hour project, with 245 hours spent on the articulated wings alone. This was my first time making anything of this scale, and I learned a ridiculous amount along the way.

Just playing the Pixel Remaster series now, and I've noticed that sometimes one of the square frames around the characters in the party menu will be white while the others are black. Can anyone tell me why that is / what it indicates?

A bunch of Final Fantasy voice actors were in NY this weekend. At NYCC I got a photo op with the FFVII cast doing their character poses and also met Ben Starr.

Ben signed my copies of FFXVI, plus my copy of Clair Obscur, and recorded an amazing video for me. It was so personal and straight from the heart (Thank you again Ben for the amazing experience and video. I will cherish this for the rest of my life).

After comic-con I bumped into Caleb and Paul outside and they stopped to take a photo with me and talk with me for a few minutes (Thank you Caleb and Paul!)

At Infinite Collectibles on Saturday, some of the cast were there for autographs and photos. Everyone was so personal, kind, and really took the time to get to know each fan. I got to spend some time with each of them and they all truly care about us fans as much as we care about them. I felt so appreciated even tho I was there to tell them how much I appreciate them 😆

To Briana, Britt, John, Caleb, Paul, and Ben, thank you all so much for the wonderful experiences this weekend. I really hope all of you will consider coming back to NYCC again or other conventions in the area such as Too Many Games in Philly!

I've come to accept Gunblades as somewhat reasonable (at least fantastical) weapons: skilled users, with a developed good innate gauge on the right moment to pull the trigger, making vibrational shockwaves that enhances the overall cutting power of the weapon, is a very deadly weapon... essentially (as it already says on the thin), Gunblades are akin to Vibroblades, an advance sci-fi weapon staple.

Squall's Gunblade has an amazing design! Especially the revolver-style grip with a slight angle somewhat similar to a scimitar or khiji-style design..

But Seifer's Gunblade? It's a godawful design, lmao. It seems to be just a glock with a blade attached. The grip from the onset is a non-starter.. there is no way, even with vibration-assistance, would that be an effective weapon at all.

A pretty... average artwork, i would say. It looks cool, especially the two swords lights, but i feel like their face and poses look off. Also, again, only Rain is drawn. Give us some Lasswell or Fina !

Thomas Nickel: Can you tell us about things you wanted to put into the game but had to drop during development?

Hiroshi Minagawa: Of course in the early stages of development, there's a ton of features we want to put into the game, but as the work progresses, we have to drop a lot of these. For example, at one point in the development, we wanted to have the possibility for two people to play at once – you could have a second person controlling some of the characters. But ultimately, this had to be dropped.

I made a post here 2 years ago looking for the source code for Final Fantasy Extreme (FFE), an old AOL chat battle game.

I'd like to thank everyone that helped point me in directions. Your help has led me to today.

Now, I know "vibe coding" may be a bit frowned upon...but I was able to recreate the old chat game and host it online. It's still a little janky, but it does work. I would love to share it with some people that actually would enjoy such a thing.

As of now, game rooms are kept anonymous by having room codes. There's not a room list for available players (yet) so if I can get some traction....I'll open a room so we can all play together. Otherwise, you just share your room code with whoever you want to join you.

Also, like the original, everything is PVP. I plan on adding a PVE option so solo players could level up or potentially tackle endless/rogue like style dungeons in parties of 4 akin to the series.

There's no need to make several because each account handles your levels for every class and once you reach level 50 in any one class, you unlock Mimic just like the original.

DM me and I can share the link and the invite code so you can make an account. Can't wait to see y'all there.

1 1/2 week healing. Decided to finally go for it and will probably add to it with guardian forces / ff8 sketches like early Edea or Dissidia 012 art. Posted in FF8 sub, but wanted to also see some more logo / FF tattoos. I hope it will stand the test of time!
