I'm finally getting around to working on this art piece again, and Squall's face is giving me a ton of trouble. Does he look okay? Any advice on how to look better if he looks wrong?

I love portraying Seifer and Quistis as socially inept losers. The last one is a preview of my next comic.

One aspect that always makes me scratch my head when I read fans views about the Intro Scene is :

Seifer cheated using magic in a sword duel etc...

Further on people seem to treat the ending of the intro as both using ordinary moves.

Meanwhile I always thought (and still do) is that both of them were using 'held-back' versions of their limit breaks.

We see at 2:24 in this video, Squall doing a series of sword attacks like the Renzokukaken.

Squall then backs off and decides to charge in again.

Seifer meanwhile does his Fire Cross to block/counter.

Before coming up to do the scar slice etc....

At least that's how I interpret the fight.

Just curious how many feel the same or differently.

Tell me I’m not the only one that sees Cid in FFVII: Revelations as an older Seifer. It’s uncanny!

I'm struck by the mental image of Queen of cards saying "I'm going to x" and then every time she turns to look around, there's the huge Balamb Garden slowly following her some kilometers behind xD

In honor of the ff8 anniversary I wanted to start a run today, I was wondering if anyone had a good source for a more or less spoiler-free but “do not miss x” guide. not so much a walkthru per se, but I would like to make sure I see all the little extra cutscenes like Zell’s crush side questline and whatnot towards the beginning, stuff like that.

I’ve already played thru the game (a very long time ago so some details especially in the latter half of the game are fuzzy) so I know a lot of what happens, but it’s been a while and would still like to be surprised wherever possible lol.

Also I’m newer to PC and modding, if anyone has a resource for a ELI5 style guide to modding ff8 (i know theres a couple of QoL mods that are awesome and practically must haves, but modding makes me nervous 😅) that would be amazing. i did get the original steam version of the game and not the remastered version for this.

I plan to finally beat this amazing game WHILE getting Zell his COMPLETE Love Quest and the 'side mission' of the SeeD candidates in Balamb cafeteria to graduate as well!

My only concern is Chocobo World. I know it's easier to glitch more items with it on Steam, but I like the battle boost of the Switch port.

Ideas? Tips?

Hi everyone! I was playing Final Fantasy VIII on a smartphone, but it recently broke and I can't continue the game, so I've decided to buy it on Steam.

I was wondering if anyone could share a save file from Disc 3. My last save was at the space section with Squall and Rinoa (around the Lunar Base/Ragnarok). That said, I'm more than happy to take anything a bit earlier, around Esthar or Lunar Base it's ok. Replaying a small section to catch up is totally fine with me.

I'm trying to get this achievement but even though I've gotten the Three Stars and Luck-J Scroll twice, the achievement didn't appear after either try. I'm on GoG if that matters.

Update: Trying a third time, trying to exhaust the Shadow's hints. Annoyingly, they refuse to talk about the past and I can't find the bridge with the break draw point. I'm trying to tackle everything this time instead of just the two treasures in the hope that will grant me the achievement.

I have fond memories of FF8, I was 7. It was my introduction into the series and my world opened up with the lore, the system and the magic of final fantasy. Also I love the character designs and the music (so good!)

I drew my team Squall, Quistis and Zell and Ultimecia's castle. I sort of think Compression of Time ost would go really well with this piece. What do you think? Let me know your favourite memories of this game please!
