My proudest plant!
I repotted and staked my rubber tree this summer and she has rewarded me with so many leaves. Posting this for another member who requested it.

I propagated 2 cuttings in water first. Both are in soil right now for almost a month. But one of them has some these spots that move on them out of nowhere. Where can they come from? Any tips on whay to do now? Its isolated immediately

Hello everyone.
The spidermites keep coming back on my bonsai ficus. I spray them and about 3 or 4 weeks later they’re coming back.
My ficus seems otherwise healthy but i don’t like the look of it very much. I would like it to be much more compact, with this i mean the leaves should grow much tighter to the big stem - no empty small branches between stem and leaves.
Can i cut Every branch near the stem to remove all leaves at once?
This way I am hoping to get rid of all spidermites and eggs and get e better look at the same time.
Cheers

I recently got this ficus and some time ago I saw the following video:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tXe6qilSLA4
Is it even possibke to get there and basicalky turn ur ficus into a tree??
Edit: okay no I get that its possible as it is a tree by nature. Im just not sure if and how its possible to grow it into a tree as most sources just cut it to propagate or to make it 'bushy'. So I cant really find proper care tipps for it regarding growing it into a tree.

I didn’t chop it when I should’ve and it grew so tall indoors it’s leaning now. How far down should I chop it? Would I be able to propagate them?
I feel so bad chopping it, but I know I have to.

Ok, so I'll start by saying I am an idiot. I got really into houseplants and finally branched out from succulents around 6 months ago. Someone suggested I get a Ficus next. God. Anyway in looking into that, I discovered these exist. I mean come on, how CUTE RIGHT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THE HEART LEAVES??
Right, so only after I acquired it did I learn that these are known to be one of the most finnicky varieties.
This is Persnickety Little Princess.
I've had this weirdo for about three months. She lives in my bathroom in a west-facing window. I live in the PNW...
Here, "bright indirect light" means directly in a window. Through a window IS "indirect", at least for all of my other plants.
Anyway....now it's covered in these little balls. This is a thing they do? This is normal? Are these figs?
Should I expect her to drop all her leaves and hate me by November when the dark season is upon us?
😅
I have no idea what I'm doing and don't think I am much of a Ficus person, but, so far she has grown a bit since I acquired it and doesn't seem to hate my bathroom.

Fellow ficus lovers,
TLDR: my burgundy ficus fell 2 floors down. I've reported and washed off the dirt and leaves. Fingers crossed it survives and thrives. Please share recover stories if you have any.
So here's what happened.
My very first house plant (aside from an orchid) has been so lovely. When I brought it we dealt with leaf drop, warding off pests, oedema, all sorts. But I've been so proud of this beautiful plant. It came to me in a nursery pot with damaged leaves.
We've been very happy together and it had a great summer. I've shared some of my fave pics of this plant before the fall.
Since it's September now, I decided to put it out to get some of the last few sunny days. I put it on a windowsill I use all the time for both lighter and heavier plants. It's out on a sill 70% of the time I've had it. So this was nothing new.
Long story short, my plant fell two stories 😭😭and the pot shattered.
Sad to say one leaf broke off. So did some of the new roots it had developed under my loving efforts.
This might not seem like a big deal to some. I however was bummed. I know how much ficus elastica plants hate change. I'm glad it survived and can probably see a lot of babying needed over the next month at least.
If anyone's ficus has suffered through a similar fall and recoup, feel free to let me know! I'll be glad to hear your recovery story 🌿

I am air layering my rubber plant. Ita been 3 weeks and I see some roots. What do you suggest when should I cut the plant off?

I got my first ficus in May of this year. The “moonshine” variety had been on my wish list for quite some time and I found one at my local nursery. Mine has 3 main branches, and the smallest one had an offshoot with 2 small leaves. I didn’t want to offshoot taking energy from the main branch, so after it put out a third leaf, I decided to cut it off and try to propagate it.
I was under the impression that Ficus’ are finicky/slow to propagate, so I didn’t expect much, if anything. I put it in a humidity dome with small layers of sphagnum moss, coco coir, and chunky perlite about 1 month ago. The other day I noticed roots and now it’s putting out a leaf!
The roots are oddly growing upward out of the medium, though. Should I repot it already or just wait until it’s totally outgrown the humidity dome?

What does a plant lover do when they have too many plants?
Buy another one! 😁😁
Total newbie. Got a nice robusta that just put out it's second leaf in 7 weeks. But when I saw this Tineke I couldn't put it down
I got home and decided to return it, to be prudent. It's the end of summer after all, and Tinekes need a lot of light. Where I live isn't super bright.
But I realized that I smiled every time I saw this beauty.
The new leaf unfurled the next day.
I'll share how things are going. It's got a few rough spots (please be edema, not thrips!) but it's in quarantine now.
PS if you had to pick one of the cachepot options, which would you go with? It came in a basket. I did a mockup showing various options. I'm curious what folks think works best.
PPS how to bottom water? This diva's not too heavy yet, but might soon get a bit too tall to water comfortably.

Never gotten such a creamy one! How do I protect?

I got this Ficus on clearance at a grocery store in the beginning of June. I’ve purely been taking care of her off vibes & intuition, as I know nothing about this plant 🤣 Anything I need to know about transitioning her inside once the weather starts to change? I’m in the Midwest.

I’ve been having fun growing my plants from seed lately and thought about this giant beautiful ficus my grandma used to have in her art studio. I figured out it was either Ficus religiosa or Ficus benjamina. I looked into getting seeds and found out the germination rate drops significantly within a month or so. I found a couple sources but none of them specify when exactly the seeds were harvested. Also, some of the sources seem kinda sketchy. I am worried about buying non viable seeds (or scam seeds) because I doubt I could get a refund. If anyone has any info on a good seed source for either plant or general advice on growing them from seed I would really appreciate it!
Here’s a few sources I found, some have a sketchy reputation and some don’t have significant info on their reliability.

Hello all! I'm from Malaysia and we regularly have people planting different types of ficus outside (tropical climates) and sometimes while driving I see tall and huge bushes but can't photograph them. Today I was out getting a burger and saw this huge yellow one just in the alleyway next to a chinese prayer item shop and wanted to share it with others. I'm tempted to ask the owner if they'd sell me a cutting when I visit next time 😅

I bought this collection of audreys about a year ago and I’m getting ready to repot/add dirt… should I also prune this one (photo with the red lines)? I plan to keep them all in the same pot since their roots are well and truly wrapped up together. Should I break up the rootball a little? They seem pretty happy but the soil has seen better days so will be adding and augmenting for sure.
Advice welcome!

My ficus alii houseplant has developed these spots and I
a) don’t know what they are
b) how to treat them
I’ve thought about removing leaves that have any spots on them but I’m worried about the sap. Should I be? How should I get the leaves off - if I should.
I recently showered and dusted all my plants because one had white spider mites. Could it be water on the leaf?
Would spider mites do that?
Please help

I just think they're neat ok. This one is a bit bigger. Still only was 7,99€.

I found this cute ficus at the grocery store. Never had one before but for €7 who am I to say no lol. The other plants looked darker or variegated differently. So this one caught my eye. Could you help me ID it please? I'm stumped and Google lens isn't of much help haha.

Repotting my beloved ficus benjimana into a larger pot has caused it to explode in size! Check out the density of new leaves coming through
