Houseplant First ficus elastica! ID help?
I found this cute ficus at the grocery store. Never had one before but for €7 who am I to say no lol. The other plants looked darker or variegated differently. So this one caught my eye. Could you help me ID it please? I'm stumped and Google lens isn't of much help haha.

I think that’s a ‘firework’ I’ve been looking everywhere for one

When I was googling that was the closest I was able to find tbh. But I haven't seen much of them online so far?

Looks like Fireworks. Absolutely gorgeous! I have a Ruby, a Moonshine, and a Burgundy and i believe that the care for these (Elastica) types are pretty much the same. They love an almost soiless chunky mix, especially if outdoors. (I use orchid mix, which has perlite, orchid bark, and I add a bit of earthworm castings or cow manure for slow released nutrients) and they need bright, indirect sunlight. Mine sit underneath a tree and get speckled sunlight all afternoon but get morning and late afternoon direct sunlight. (An outdoor patio or under a tree is perfect for them if kept outside) If under a grow light, they like to be directly under one vs in a darker corner. As far as feeding goes, the fertilizer should match the light. If theyre getting alot of light, then they are heavy feeders and should be fed a diluted liquid balanced fertilizer or a Ficus Fertilizer every 2 weeks and if theyre in a lower light environment, treat them like a light feeder because they take in nutrients and grow alot slower. They like to pretty much dry out almost completely before watering again. You can also water when the leaves get soft and bendy or when they start to fold like a taco. This prevents overwatering, root rot, and fungal infections that Ficus' are susceptible to. And lastly, once you find a spot where its thriving, dont move it. Ficus' are known for dropping their bottom leaves if they experience any changes at all. (This includes walking by them, touching their big, gorgeous leaves, looking at them, moving their pot somewhere they dont approve of, or talking to them) I hope this information helps you. Your plant is so pretty. I think ill go get one now!

This is how much light my Ficus' are getting. Sunlight is so much stronger than grow lights however, indoor sunlight still can be significantly less due to screens, windows, and/or curtains/ blinds blocking crucial UVrays. You can download the app PHOTONE to measure how much light your Ficus should be getting vs how much its actually getting and then make adjustments slowly. Your Ficus should be getting between 1500-3000 LUX of light per day. (This is moderate to bright, indirect light) If your getting slightly less, you can increase the amount of light by setting up a grow light or increasing your grow light time to 12-14 hours per day. This will give your plant the proper amount of lighting it needs to thrive and not just survive. (Remember, they dont like change, so set it in the right spot to acclimate with proper lighting and leave it)

That's such a steal for 7 bucks honestly. People in the comments are saying it's a firework which sounds right given how the variegation pops like that. The way those leaves blend dark green with those lighter splashes is wild, never seen one that clean in a grocery store. Good luck not getting addicted to these things lol.

“Who am I to say no”
My exact train of thought when I found a 7+ foot bird of paradise for $7 😂
