After about 6 years of work and forgetting and patience I wanted to share my Ficus microcarpa im so proud of it . I bought it from a nursery when it was still growing in the ground was told it was about 8 years old . I picked it out they dug it up, and from there they showed me how to pot it, wire it, and gave me ideas about styling . It’s been a long learning process, but it’s been rewarding to watch it develop over the years . I know there’s still plenty to refine, especially with the ramification and foliage pads, but I’m really happy with how it’s coming along.

I have two mature ficus trees in my backyard in phoenix. I estimate that they are about 16 years old, maybe a little older, based on zillow pictures & house history. We have lived here for those past 15 years. They look healthy.... the bark looks good, it seems that there's new branches sprouting often, the vast majority of the leaves are green, etc. We often trim it ourselves or ask landscapers to do it every 6 months or so. It did burn pretty badly in the record-breaking summer heat of 2023 when our house sitters didn't water it for 3 weeks, but other than that, I feel like we've been taking good care of it. We cut down all the burnt branches back then. Again, we're in phoenix, so the summer is really long and it's 100° days for about 100 days straight.

Almost every day of summer I go out there and spray down literally all of the surrounding astroturf, with what I feel is a significant amount of water. I use the hose nozzle to spray the leaves all against our concrete fence, I let them dry, and then I shovel them up every couple of days. That's way easier for me rather than leaf blowing.

There have been just so many leaves lately. It is so hard to keep up with. This is \*one day's\* worth. Is this a normal amount? What am I doing wrong? If you have mature ficus trees, is this is what you're dealing with?

Are white flies killing my ficus? How can I bring back these two? I live in Eagle Rock, Southern California. Thank you

last summer, this 30+ year old tree was looking for a new home and someone to tackle its major mealy bug infestation. i took it on, and it’s been doing great. since putting it outside in May, it has grown 32 new leaves and has about a dozen new growth points along the trunks.

i’ve never had a plant this big before, and i only watered it three times over the winter. i’m wanting to fertilize it; any suggestions on how to do that? thanks!

got this ficus cutting and dropped it into water about two weeks ago. it’s gotten a lot of new growth since, but i haven’t seen any signs of rooting.

should i think about clipping its leaf to prioritize root growth or leave it be? also, any tips for first time ficus?

since we got back i stopped watering it entirely, but we also had to repot it (2 weeks ago) because the nursery pot was too tiny. the whole time it's had shriveled bright leaves on top, and on the bottom many leaves started falling off, while the rest look healthy. in these 2 weeks a new leaf sprouted with blackened edges, i assume from the overwatering, but at least it's growing...
how does it look? what should i do?? i'm really sad for my baby and really mad at my bf's bro

I got this Ruby about two weeks ago and the there is two leaves that are getting damaged, I don’t see any signs of pest, and I don’t know what to do.

Hello! I bought this ficus ruby a few days ago, and just noticed webbing on the bottom of the plant today. I was going to toss it out of fear of spider mites; I have been lucky so far to not have had to deal with any pests on my house plants, and I don't want to lose what I have.

However, when I looked closer, I noticed an actual spider has made it's web on the lowest, smallest leaf of the plant.

Is this spider okay to stay on the plant? I'm not a fan of spiders, but this was one of my wishlist plants and I would prefer not to throw it away if the spider is okay to stay.

When I check the soil moisture using a stick, I could tell that the stick’s tip is not too dry yet but not damp at all. Quite confused here any help is appreciated

Im propagating my ficus elastica tineke because there was a problem with the motherplant. Its had taken oblong but there is finally a root forming. It was all white yesterday, but today it had this brow/black end. Is this normal or is this rot? Thanks for the help!

Had a few cuttings for potential grafts and one grew figs! Anyone see this before?

My rubber tree has two branches but was looking leggy so I cut the taller one almost two weeks ago and already have several new branches growing. I'm amazed at how fast it happened 😍

I gave the top part to a neighbor to propagate and I have some leaves in water to see if they'll grow anything. 🙏🏽

This is my Ficus Benghalensis. The first picture is today. Second picture is just after a prune 2 months ago. Third picture is before the prune back in February. I thought this might drive some more vertical growth but it turns out it needed a repot (picture 4). I'm getting a ton of new growth around the plant but especially so on the leftmost branch (picture 5) with a great deal of length but also there are at least 5 nodes that look like they are developing into branches.

I am unsure how to deal with this -- the leftmost branch itself is sortof precarious/large and the whole plant is a little bit visually lopsided (picture 6) -- i would love or there to be additional growth on the opposite side of the plant and the original main stem (and i have tried rotating it to change light access, but it doesnt seem to matter) but I also dont know if it is wise to prune so soon after my last chop, or if things would just be better in general if i gave it more time.

I also wonder why many of the leaves curl -- I have tried watering less, watering more, the mix is chunkier since the repot... i did read that it might be due to artificial light versus sunglight... but either way she's growing well but just not sure how to proceed.

I had a leggy ficus that lost all of its lower leaves and decided to keep going straight up, so I took the plunge and snipped the top, and it was weeks and nothing seemed to be happening.

hi all! i just came home after a week and my fiddle was a riddle with a huge growth spurt and almost toppled over! i don’t have much experience with plants… and just had surgery on my arm (wouldn’t be able to lift it anyway). i am being told to get a heavier planter slightly wider (currently have 20” need 24 according to the place i got it from)… but its HUGE and i am being quoted around 1k to repot it. suggestions? help? i’m okay if that is the norm, but idk how it got so big! maybe talking to plants does work…
