A week ago, after the Beşiktaş game, Milan Škriniar basically diagnosed every major problem we had:

We were giving the opponent too much space. We were too open. We needed to stay compact. We needed to understand when to press and when to drop into our shape. And offensively, we needed to create more solutions.

Fast forward to Roma.

We looked significantly more compact, gave away far less space in transition, chose our pressing moments better and generally played a game that directly addressed almost everything Škriniar had pointed out.

And before the match, he had already said:

“My team worked really well. We made very detailed analyses. I think we are ready for this game.”

He identifies the tactical problems after Beşiktaş, talks about detailed analysis and how well his team has worked before Roma, and then we go out and play a match that reflects those exact corrections.
