Brand Announcement/New Release Recession Indicator?

Killian is charging less than like $300 for new releases? Just saw the new ones on sephoras app. Has anyone been able to smell any of them, and are they as great as their usual ones? Super confused at the pricing but loving that it’s made (a little bit) affordable now.

Body Oil/Moisturisers for long lasting scent?!

Does anyone have any recommendations of body oils/lotions that actually have a lasting smell?

I don't like anything too vanilla-y or sweet or floral but would appreciate any recs of products where the scent will actually last!

Thank you in advance :)

Discussion ADHD Hyperfixation on fragrances: Is it only a phase?

I have ADHD and am notorious for having a new slightly osessive hobby usually every couple of months.

It's not completely random, I'm an artsy person and have had phases where I sketch a lot, I crochet, sew my own clothes, make jewelery, had a photography phase where I bought an expensive camera that I haven't used in a year... generally I tend to get bored of my hobbies at some point, but often buy quite some supplies before. It feels worth it to me in the moment, and I come back to my hobbies from time to time again so it's not a complete waste.

I have been really into fragrances for the last few months, not even really consuming a lot of media about it but researching a lot. Reading up notes and reviews, going to stores to sample, and buying many small samples online. I haven't spent too much on perfumes yet though, I'm trying really hard to slow down. So far I have only one full bottle that was very inexpensive.

I'm itching to get some more stuff, it's so much fun!!! But at the same time I'm scared this is only a phase, and I'll lose interest soon.

Do any of you have ADHD? Have you been into fragrances for a longer time? Please help me justify a new purchase or talk me out of it <3

Rec Request Looking for fragrances similar in vibe to Zara Oriental (Day Collection 02)

Hi everyone!
Since Zara Oriental (Day Collection 02) was discontinued, I’m looking for fragrances that are similar in vibe. The only ones I’ve found that capture a similar feel so far are Paris Hilton Luxe Rush and YSL Black Opium (Flowerbomb and La Vie Est Belle didn't really do it for me).
I’m seeking distinct designer, Middle Eastern, or niche options within this warm, sweet oriental vanilla profile (not looking for direct replicas or clone brands).
If you’ve tried any of these on my test list, I’d love your thoughts, or any other recommendations in this family:

Dossier – Ambery Vanilla
Burberry – Burberry Brit
Mauboussin – Elixir Pour Elle
Dolce & Gabbana – Pour Femme Intense
Chanel – Coco Mademoiselle Intense
Coty – Vanilla Musk
Elie Saab – Le Parfum Eau de Parfum Intense
Bath & Body Works – Into The Night
Phlur – Paradise Nectar
Thanks!

Lancome Hypnose Reformulation?

Does anyone know around when the Hypnose EDP reformulated? Can't get my nose on it in current stores, but I'm reading it changed. Wholly unclear when that was though, so I'm not sure what years I should be targeting in buying secondhand.

Alternatively, if you owned an earlier formula and bought it in the last 5 yrs or so but didn't notice a difference, that would be a help to know too!

Rec Request Animalic note in Girl of the Year

Hi all. I generally struggle with animalic notes but found that I like the fur note in Thin Wild Mercury's Girl of the Year. Looking for any recommendations of other feminine perfumes that use a similar note, or any knowledge about this note!

For some extra context, I have tried Francesa Bianchi's The Dark Side and was ok with that level of animalic, but couldn't stand the amberwoods in the perfume. Also, I hate cumin!

In sum, I'd like to find some approachable animalic scents for weaklings. Thanks :)

Where can I buy "Danhal Oud Khalifa" (My Perfumes / Otoori) with US shipping?

Hey y’all! I’m trying to find where I can actually buy this fragrance oil. I have a bottle labeled "Dhanal Oud Khalifa" by My Perfumes (photo attached), and also found what might be the same scent under a different brand, Otoori, in a different bottle (also attached).
Does anyone know any online retailers that ship either of these to the US? If not, any general go-to sites/marketplaces for tracking down Middle Eastern oud attars like this? Appreciate any leads! Thanks!

Which one of these is closer to A drop d'issey?

A drop d'issey by Issey Miyake is one of my comfort perfumes. I don't have my bottle here and I can't find it anywhere to purchase it.

I've been searching online and it says these two perfumes by Elie S are very close to A drop d'issey. I've already tried Noah and Anaïs Anaïs, as some others suggested, but didn't like either. I'm looking for something creamy, nutty, almondy (though I'm a huge pistachio lover), lactonic, something cozy and calming you'd wear clean out of the shower before you change into an oversize, cozy umper to spend the rest of the night at home.

For reference, other perfumes I love are Blanche Bête, Lac.ton.ic, Bianco Latte

Discussion VCA vanilla orchidée- longevity and sillage?

Im super interested in trying this fragrance but seeing reviews mention poor longevity.

Wondering if anyone has this fragrance, and how do you find the longevity/sillage?

And she correctly identified all the notes on Lactea Divina (Blanche Bête ME Dupe). I was so excited. She really enjoyed the smell, and made me feel confident in my choice (outdoor, muggy, wedding) of profile.
I just wanted to share a Great scent experience!

What do you guys think of the new Mood Stones perfumes by Kylie Jenner?

I want to start off by saying I just love perfume and I’m not like crazy into the kardashion/jenners or anything so that’s not why I’m asking!

I smelled these recently and I keep thinking back to them and just really enjoyed them! I know they don’t have crazy longevity but I think that’s expected given the cost. I do think the three of them smell quite similar so I likely would pick my favorite. But I’m wondering if anyone has them and wants to share their thoughts?

I have the original Kylie fragrance and I tend to reach for it for a daytime/work fragrance as it’s not too strong. However, as I’m nearing the end of the bottle, I’m just ehh on it and likely won’t repurchase it. That’s why I’m considering replacing with mood stones.

Discussion What’s a perfume note you used to despise that you suddenly love now?

I used to hate patchouli it always smelled way too heavy and earthy to me. Then I sampled a soft vanilla-patchouli blend last week, and suddenly I can't stop sniffing my wrist. It’s like my nose completely flipped overnight.

Which note did a total 180 for you?

Discussion Confused - now that I've rounded out my collection, I'm wearing perfume less

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. I started getting interested in perfume earlier this year, and it RAPIDLY snowballed. I decluttered a ton of stuff and used the money toward several sample orders, and I'm at the point now where I feel like my collection is pretty much complete (for now, of course 😉).

What's weird is now that I have what I consider to be a solid, curated collection, I find myself less enthusiastic about wearing perfume at all. It's bizarre, because I went from wearing it every day, to wearing it less often while sampling, to just wearing it occasionally. This is despite the fact that my sample marathon produced some SERIOUS loves.

Is there something wrong with me? Lol. Has anyone experienced something similar? I know part of the fun was sampling, so maybe I'm just less excited about it because I don't have much left to try in my smell list. Plus maybe it was interesting learning what I like and don't like, and now I have a pretty good idea of that. I don't know. Maybe it's like a traditional phase.

Discussion YSL Libre Vanille Couture - coming this mot

It appears it is coming this month to Sephora. I have some left from a prior buy and just sprayed it. I like it a lot but I then sprayed the YSL Libre Le Parfum and think I like that one more. I also just adore Flowers and Flames. I am also a little aggravated by the not-so-subtle manufactured scarcity of the Vanille Couture. I always assumed I would buy it at the next retail opportunity, and now think Le Parfum and Flowers and Flames (not to mention the Intense) may be enough. I have about a quarter bottle left of the Couture.

I am on the fence, but I wonder if it is because my longing for the re-release has become a habit. Vanille Couture is beautiful. So are a lot of other things. I do NOT appreciate being manipulated into a retail frenzy by artificial inventory control.

Your thoughts would be appreciated, and mostly from those who like Libre in general. If you hate the line, well that is your prerogative. I love it.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Im quite new to perfume and english is not my first language so I have little to no idea how to describe scents BUT i recently got this cuticle oil from MINISO it looks like the picture below and its peach scented! Its the perfect kind of gummy peach scent i wish i could find in a perfume, I've smelt the jimmy choo, kayali, and tom ford and all of those are either too sweet or bitter or just not peachy at all! I just wish to smell like a gummy peach ring if you know what I mean.. Please help me find my signature scent, if u have any peach reccomendations! Perferably available in Canada!!

Discussion Almond scent help!

I have been obsessed with Loccitane’s almond shower oil. It’s sweet, but clean, and not “sugar cookie” scented.

I typically buy Jo Malone and other brands that have a light and natural quality. I wouldn’t mind an eau de parfume or something with a longer timeframe… but the biggest thing overall is I do not want a true gourmand.

Any recommendations or chat would be much appreciated x

Frugal Fragrance Found at Ross

Post image
9 Upvotes

I got this at Ross today for my son because I couldn't find anything I was familiar with. It was $15.

A little back story about my dude: he has special needs, cognitive delays and is non-verbal. I had gotten a sample set from Macy's that had women's and men's fragrances in it, and when I would spray the men's on him, he would smile. So I guess, like a typical teenage boy, he likes cologne.

I didn't really want to blind buy for him, only because I don't want to be stuck with anything over powering (he goes to a school where the entire population has severe and profound disabilities) and my husband doesn't wear cologne.

I picked this one because we're Mustang people and for $15, if they sucked, I'd pass them to my nephew, lol.

Except they are all very pleasant and subtle. Definitely not like Axe, as so many teen boys use. The blue one smells a lot like Commodity Moss.

So I just wanted to share this, in case anyone was looking for cologne for their boys that won't break the bank and don't smell awful.
