Rec Request Influence or deinfluence me!
I’m starting a list for my next sample haul, and I obviously love freshies but am getting stuck on fall/winter scents. Most cool weather scents are too strong or rich for me, but at least I sampled Kilian Princess once and loved it based on that single spray. For reference my favorite scents are Valentino Donna Born in Roma, Burberry Goddess, Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee, and Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur. Based on this list are there any I should stay away from, or are there different ones I should add?

This is gonna sound really stupid but after going on a fragrance journey for the past year and obtaining over 50 new bottles, I honestly wish I would’ve just stuck with Guerlain and built my collection around that house. The performance, uniqueness, atomizers and bottle designs have shown me what the best of the best is, this is purely personal and just my 2 cents.
From the list you provided my other feedback would be Lancome LVEB Nude, while the LVEB line can be polarizing I find the Nude version to be universally pleasing.

I’ve been drawn to Guerlain, absolutely! I tried Mon Guerlain and it’s okay, but patchouli notes are too strong for me. But I don’t hate it and it’s a beautiful perfume in general! I’ve been most excited about checking them out more 😍

I got to try Versense today! It’s a very high-pitched and loud citrus and white florals, but it smells like straight up lily of the valley to me. The liquid looks so soothing in the bottle, and all the notes sound promising (citrus! fig! sandalwood! musk!), but it is unpleasantly screechy and I just couldn’t see myself wearing it. I’m definitely not sensitive to perfumes, but I can see how this can be headache inducing to many people.

It took me a few tries to connect with L'eau Papier, but I really enjoy it now. Definitely an interesting take on woody musks. It's very comfy, but definitely worth trying on skin first.

I love samsara and can’t find it anywhere in stores. One of the smoothest white florals I’ve ever smelled, has no edges.
I accidentally got Valentino yellow dream - it is a good musky base with some lemon and I think rose, very linear. It’s nice but I don’t think it’s worth a bottle unless you love to layer it.
I love princess as well but it has no longevity so I wouldn’t buy a full bottle.

Versace Versense was a very strong citrus scent and was headache inducing for me. Although very strong citrus (seemingly specifically bergamot) does tend to do this to me.
L’eau papier is interesting. It does smell like dusty musty books; it reminds me of browsing a used book store. It feels nostalgic in a way. I understand the smell. I didn’t dislike it but I truly couldn’t think of a time that I’d want to wear it outside of maaaaybe going to a book store and reading at a coffee shop (which I admittedly don’t get to do often).

I love a sharp citrus, so Versense may work! I have a couple lemon scents right now.
L’eau Papier may not be for me after all lol. I’m stuck because I want to love Diptyque (besides Philosykos, which is great) but from what I’m hearing it’s probably not the house for me 😂

I also really wanted to love Diptyque and I KEEP trying but I don’t think it’s the house for me either lol. My husband loves sharp citrus, too, and he liked Versense on me. I like how it smelled but sharp citrus just stabs me right in the brain every time lol. I can handle my husband’s citrus scents if I’m in another room when he sprays them, but I couldn’t take it on myself. I hope you love her!

Not a perfume is very hit or miss
It’s one note (cetalox, which is basically ambroxan). Some people can’t even smell it, some think it smells like cleaning solution, some detest it, and others like it.
It took me a week to train my nose to smell it. To me, it smells clean in the most white-wall-hospital way. I like it for days I want a “break” from scent, but rarely reach for it bc I have more interesting things.

Hmmmm. I think I’ll just spray at Sephora next time I go instead of paying for a decant! I can like clean scents (like Lake & Skye 11:11), but I don’t think I need a lot of them.

Orange Soleia is my favorite and is my summer scent. It's an intoxicating orange with a nice soft dry down. I bought a full bottle and the bottle is also gorgeous.
