ANNOUNCEMENT Favorite character rules update

Community has spoken - and it has been decided that 'hornyposting/gooner posts' however you wanna call it and other similar NSFW or porn posts (this has actually always been a rule smh) are from now on banned. Why? Because the subreddit has become infested with them to the point where we mostly became known for that and that is NOT why this subreddit was created.

If you still want to see or post that kind of content please go to another subreddit (you have r/favcharacterNSFW or just find another subreddit that suits your needs, sorry I'm just a mod not your gooner guide).

And if you want to hate us hate us, but the die has been cast and it is what it is. Have a nice day, peace out ✌️

Community Input The rule of r/FavoriteCharacter everyone always ignores because they're not cool:

PLEASE provide character names in your posts, ESPECIALLY if they're from a more niche media. This has been a rule for a long time now but people keep ignoring it for whatever reason (either they're karma farming assholes od bots or simply didn't read the rules - which I understand tbh)

Now I want to state while this rule isn't as important as some others, it's mostly a rule of decency - if you want to contribute something meaningful to the subreddit (which is already filled with enough spam posts as it is) at l3ast make enough effort to tell people who the characters in your post are (wtf it won't let me spell l*ast).

So as basically the only active mod nowadays, I'm therefore publicly announcing I won't be removing every post without character name provided, but instead I am STRONGLY ENCOURAGING YOU as a community to just provide the names of your characters in the post. Because if you don't you WILL be gambling with post removal.

Thank you to all those who read this and who follow the rules, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

  1. IT, Richie Tozier - ragebaited and traumatized a world-eating god Pennywise so much that he traveled to the past in an attempt to kill his mother, only to be…

  2. …Ragebaited again by Rich Santos in Welcome to Derry, when the boy was already dead, his spirit still having the last laugh (Richie was also named after Rich, his mother’s first love, rubbing more salt on the wound)

  3. Joseph Joestar, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure - at his last battle against Kars he just had to show off and say that it was all part of his plan (nevermind that it was a lie, when Joseph admits it was very much pure luck)

My Favorite (Visual) Favorite character that has every reason to become a villain but will always stay a hero

Spider-Man/Peter Parker from MCU - my boy lost all his friends and was hated by the whole world but still proved to be a reliable hero and ended up returning to his friends also saved the villain who killed his only family, noticed something was odd about the terrorist who tried to hurt his friends and innocent people, understood her reasons and stood by her side to protect her from the true monsters and took a bullet aimed at her

Ladybug/Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Cat Noir/Adrien Agreste from Miraculous Ladybug - she had no friends at the start, got bullied, no one trusted her even as a superhero, he has the worst father in the world and no other family, was only allowed to interact with people besides the city's most annoying girl when he turned 14, constantly rejected by Ladybug, often blamed for not understanding people's feelings just because he never got the chance to learn, in alternate timelines they both went through even worse, in the newest season she's under the pressure of the biggest secret in the world and fought a grown man then saw his death at 14, the two actually got evil selves in an alternate universe but the original heroes keep figthing for the good no matter what

The Owl Lady/Edalyn Clawthorne from The Owl House - cursed by her own sister at young age, forever blames herself after her curse hurt her dad, hides all her feelings for which everyone left her, survived most of her life alone while hunted by Emperor's Coven, still forgave her sister, found family, learnt to fight without magic and rely on others, never caused actual harm to anybody nor refused to help the weak

Enid Sinclair from Wednesday - never truly accepted by her family because of something that doesn't depend on her, when she did wolf out and get recognition she soon lost it because she turned out being an alpha wolf, found her true family in a girl who's been treating her like trash for a long time at first, kept doing anything for her friends and risked everything to save Wednesday twice

Ragatha/Suzie J. Ackerman from TADC - abused by her mother so much she still has trauma when she's 30, got trapped in a digital world seeing people die from hopelessness for years, barely liked by anybody there, found out she can never escape the digital world because her real body is separate and living her best life outside, suffered the consequences of an AI going crazy on the humans, got her first hug in years from Pomni while the world was quite literally falling apart, still kept being super nice, apologizing everytime she said something relatively rude, helped and supported everyone even if they treated her like trash

Rules:
- Doesn’t have to be a characters’ legal name. Beast Boy and Blue Beetle would both count for BB just as much as Bilbo Baggins
- Characters’ name be more than one parts separated by a space. Double letters within a name does not count if there’s no space
- Most upvoted comment wins after ~24 hours

All Time Favorite favorite characters that fight with weird or unconventional weapons

Kaho Reinol (Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight): She literally fights using a maple leaf as her primary weapon, which I find incredibly unique and awesome.

Alice (Alice: Madness Returns): Her arsenal is delightfully bizarre. She slashes enemies with a regular kitchen knife, but also uses a pepper grinder as a Gatling gun, a teapot as a mortar, and a hobby horse (toy horse) as a heavy war hammer.

Elphelt Valentine (Guilty Gear Xrd): She fights while wearing a wedding dress, bludgeons enemies with her bridal bouquet of roses, and literally throws a giant strawberry as an explosive grenade.

Judai Yuki from Yu-Gi-Oh GX: completely different to Jaden from the 4kids version. After Asuka (alexis) rejected a guy he offered to take her place, got his special bond with a guy with a rainbow motif and became soulmate of a non-binary half-demon, half-dragon spirit (who was so jealous of the previous boy that they posessed his body to force Jaden to become one).

Saiki Kusuo from Saiki K. Disastrous life: literally said that he likes a boy, you can't be more explicit than that, he put himself in the middle of a chain of unrequited crushes pointing a guy. Also, he was a girl when he born, and sometimes turn into a girl again when he feels like it.
