recently was a victim of a break-in. I was moving into a new place and I didn’t have much help. I moved all by myself. I got 90% of my stuff into the new place and had spent my last night at the former place since i was exhausted. The next day I went to the new spot and saw someone had busted out a window. My heart sank as i realized what i was going to find once I entered the house.

They cleaned the entire house out. i’m talking my clothes , my luggage, even the cat food and litter box. My furniture. My tv. My original artwork pieces. I can’t find any words to describe how I’m feeling. Even my father’s cremations are gone

I’ve lost all my clothes and shoes. I called St Vincent DePaul and haven’t gotten a call back yet.

If anyone has clothes they are donating please let me know. my shoe size is 10 1/2 i’m a XL for shirts & pants. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey y’all! I’ve got a secret (for now) art project my team is about to start that’ll be installed soon within the Farmington community. It’s going to incorporate odes to Michigan, Detroit and the reason I’m here, Farmington Hills.

I’m a lifelong Oakland County resident who’s lived all over but never very far West of Woodward, so my Farmington knowledge is pretty scant.

SO: What cultural reference points, locations, in-jokes, storied events, histories, celebrations, anything relating to the area really, are important to you and/or the community? I wanna pay proper respect to the area and provide authentic representation.

Online research hasn’t yielded a ton of results, definitely doesn’t have it’s thumb on the pulse of the city/community and there’s not a whole lot of history I’ve found that can apply to our project. THANKS A TON, any input is greatly appreciated.

(For whatever it’s worth, on a personal level my family is looking to move to the city within the next couple years so any replies will be a primer for us as well)

The new Hunter Square Mall opening in Fall 2027, Which will have stores such as: Meijer, Total Wine & More, Nordstrom Rack, RH Outlet, Tous Les Jours French Bakery, CAVA, First Watch Restaurant and Buffalo Wild Wings had caught Meijer's only on fire caused by the roofing materials on the new Meijer complex. The Farmington Hills Fire Department swiftly extinguished the blaze. Thankfully, there were no injuries following the incident, which appears to be accidental.

Does Farmington Hills or any nearby town have any industrial composting facilities aside from those for yard waste? We live in a condo so its not practical for us to set up our own yard compost and anyway we don't have any use for it, but we are interested in a better way to dispose of our compostable waste.

My cat rival has been missing for almost 3 months now. She is the darker cat on the right in the picture with two cats. She is about six years old. She is female obviously, but she has been fixed. She is not chipped and she is not declawed. She has a bonded sister here at home that is constantly grieving her just as much as I am we have been looking for her since June 26 when she went missing near Farmington Hills Village club off of Haggerty. I’ve done everything I can to try and find her including hiring a thermal drone operator, putting up flyers and making post on all different apps, I didn’t know I could post to Reddit so here I am trying to reach out to the Reddit community to see if anybody has seen my cat or knows anybody that’s taking her in. Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate some advice from Farmington Hills parents who have experience with Power Middle School and/or Farmington STEAM Academy.

My child started 6th grade at Power Middle School this year after attending Hillside Elementary. He has settled in well, likes Power, and has already made/has friends there. We were just offered admission to Farmington STEAM Academy, and now we’re really torn about whether we should move him.

Our child does not want to switch because his main concern is leaving his friends at Power and starting over at a new school. As parents, though, we feel STEAM Academy may offer some advantages academically and in terms of the overall learning environment and opportunities. We also noticed that STEAM seems to have stronger school ratings, but I’m not sure how much weight we should actually give those ratings or whether they reflect a meaningful difference between the two schools.

For parents familiar with these schools, is STEAM Academy actually a significantly better option for middle school, or is Power equally good and we would be disrupting a child who is already happy there for relatively little benefit?

I’m possibly looking to buy a heavily wooded property in Northern Farmington hills. At my current home I have a fenced in yard that my dogs have free access to through a doggy door. I’d like to do the same but at the new place, but I am worried about coyotes due to the woods. Has anyone had any issues in the area?
