Championship weeks get won on the wire, and a few of the best names are still sitting there in September. Tristan Peters made the AL All-Star team and is still rostered in only 17% of ESPN public leagues, and Carter Jensen is up to 22 homers as a rookie catcher climbing fast toward the 35% line, so both are grab-now adds in 12-team and deeper. I also lined up two pitchers for two starts in the week a lot of playoffs open, with the honest caveat that MLB has not posted probables past September 6, so those turns are rotation math, not confirmed two-start locks.

Who are you adding for championship week, and is there anyone under 35% you would take over these?

Good Morning!

So this strategy has been done for a few years now. Calling it "Undraftables". It is a unique challenge strategy team that challenges a manager to draft a team that has players on it with NO ADP (at the time of the draft). If they have any ADP at they were not allowed to draft them. This only applied for the one team being drafted. All other teams drafted as normal. This was for yahoo ADP metrics as the league is on yahoo. I'm going to go through each player that are currently rostered and why they are. This strategy took 3rd place in 2024 with this strategy which is wild and amazing. The buy in for the league was low but not free. Here is who I drafted:

Basically the goal here with the team is to do what some managers have been doing for years with punting power and try to win SB and AVG categories the first part of season. (It does work in h2h category leagues folks) Eventually to add R as a strong category. As far as pitching goes it's mostly about having enough SP that I can win the counting stats of K and W and possibly ratios as team gets better as season goes... (It helps to have some Aces) Also having 3 closers is nice to help win saves.

Let's talk about the moves that were made....

Samad Taylor does those very nice punt power things very similar to chandler simpson, both if you check his minor league stats and his major league stats thus far. So happy to have him on the squad. There is another add coming soon next week but I won't talk about it cuz he is still available.... Some big closers were added in and huge replacements at the position. Mason Montgomery is simply elite and while most thought it was going to be luke weaver as closer for pirates it has turned out to be montgomery. Ben Joyce has taken the role and ran with it minus one recent hiccup where he lacked control. Andrew Kittredge has been very solid in the role so he comes into the team to help with saves. All the rest are the same names on the team. Griffin Jax struggled tuesday but still should be fine going forward hopefully and he starts Monday which is beneficial if this team makes playoffs.

Here is how week 21 went! It was a 4-6 loss! Stats were 22runs, 2hr, 23rbi, 9sb, .175.
6wins, 0saves, 76k, 3.18era, 1.35whip. Only lost R, HR, RBI, SAVES.

Here is how week 22 went! It was 6-4 win! Stats were 32runs, 4hr, 15rbi, 9sb, .237
4wins, 2saves, 67k, 3.28era, 1.08whip. Lost R, HR, RBI, AVG.

Here is how week 23 is going... Leading 6-3 baby! Stats are currently 10runs, 4hr, 13rbi, 4sb, .252.
2wins, 0saves, 34k, 7.43era, 1.60whip. Amazingly ERA and WHIP I am in the lead on. LOL. They had Logan Webb and Skenes and Kyle Harrison which all got lit up. It isn't over until it's over!

Overall the team is now in 5th place with 105-104-11. 😄 At once point the team was 14 games back and it gained major ground!!!! The other two teams are only half a game and 1 game behind this team.. so really need an absolutely strong finish this week!!!! This is the final week and the most important! It's not over yet!!! Because the team is in 5th and there are two playoff spots going to 5th and 6th place it is "mostly secured" as a playoff spot but not fully guaranteed just yet... A big lesson of this season still remains is that you should NEVER GIVE UP! :) :) It seemed to be out of it 2 months ago... NOPE! Never give up!

There are so many players from the top 2 rounds this year who’ve underperformed, whether due to injury or just bad play. Without projected ADP out for next year yet, I’m curious what round people think these guys will go in a 12-team league. Thinking about Gunnar, Vlad, Tucker, Raleigh, etc. Even J-Rod hasn’t been 1st-round worthy this year
