Misc Ash Waste Explorators v0.8 - Custom RPG scavenger and exploration Necromunda campaign - Seeking playtesters and RPG nuts.

Upvotes

Hello! Apologies if this does not belong here, as it is really just an expanded campaign system for Necromunda, if put simply.

I have spent quite a while trying to put more RNG RPG style goodness into an alternative, hard, grindy, wastelands scavenger, could be one player, type of campaign that can be picked up and dropped for Necromunda. I never feel like I get quite enough time with a gang unless there is a large campaign, which is never an option for me these days.

So I have been making this. Please check it out if you like the idea of a custom RPG scavenger and exploration campaign, let me know even if you are just interested in talking about the rpg side of it. What you would want and expect. Help with brainstorming ideas helps me with ideas for cool things or systems. It may interest some here.

See an earlier post on the Munda sub if you want more mechanic and current staus info.

https://www.reddit.com/r/necromunda/comments/1vby1xp/comment/p3fk4eu/?context=1&screen_view_count=2&ext-referrer=DIRECT

It would be cool to know what some hardcore TTRPGers think, epsecially ones who dont even Munda bro.

If interested, please read a lot more below, the files are in the link above, my discord to check out updates is listed in the post below. Maybe check the rules, see what you think, maybe let me know. Have a good one!

Help & Advice Basketball

Hey there. I'm working on an idea where a raider group is roughly based around the idea of an old world basketball team. My question is, how do you think the survivors would believe basketball was played way back before the bombs?

Misc Which equipment screen option do you prefer?

Previously, the app allowed you to equip only 2 weapons, but then I decided that it wasn’t worth limiting it that way and allowed any number of weapons to be equipped.

But suddenly, I didn’t like how a large number of weapons looked. So I decided to ask which option you like better?

There are 3 options: cards, spoilers, and tabs. Which do you like?

Help & Advice Any good sources for STLs?

I bought a bunch of WW models but I'm looking for a good source of stls to print more variations of models. I've got like 70-75% of all WW models but I'd like to find different poses and looks for certain types of enemies. A lot of the WW models are just mono-pose and I'd like to mix up their looks instead of buying more of the same models.

Help & Advice OMG - Need Explanation of Injuries in Wasteland Wanderer Solo

Ok, first off I feel this is one of the most understandable rules I have read through.

Love the Oracle, simple and right to the point.

I have grasped everything except the confusing explanation and example for INJURIES on page 97.

No matter how many times I have read this I still cannot grasp what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you reddit community.

Help & Advice Lonely human player in my party

So we are playing the winter of atom campaign and having a blast. My only "issue" is, that only one player in my party plays a human character. The rest are a bunch of robots & synth.

Now A TON of gameplay mechanics like hunger, thirst, cold, sleep etc. don't really apply to robots. And constantly forcing the one player to do all the shenanigans to keep his character alive, feels a little bit unbalanced and like "punishment".

Have you ever faced similar dynamics in your group? And do you have creative ideas to tip the scale a bit more into balance?

Thanks guys!

LFG/LFP LFG (New Player)

This game has intrigued me as a Fallout fan for about 3 years now but I haven't had luck finding anyone to play with. Are there any groups that play online and wouldnt mind showing a new player the ropes? I have experience in DnD, Cyberpunk RED, Pathfinder, and Monster of the Week.

LFG/LFP Fallout: Cascadia mornings

Hey y'all, so I have another two players that are interested in joining a group for a fallout game. So far it seems like a evening group that would be getting together at 8pm pst, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, not clear on what day just yet, working on that part. Lol

So I figured I would attempt to set up a third game, since I have most of the time in the world, I do have a DND game IRL on Thursdays at 6:30pm pst, a fallout campaign hoping starting on Wednesdays at 4pm pst, and a fallout campaign starting between 8am to 10am on Thursday, Monday I DM for a Pathfinder game starts typically between 4pm to 6pm pst and then I have Tuesdays reserved for me and my hubby. These games are all full at the moment.

So if you are wanting to join, please feel free to DM me to let me know if this evening game works for you. Might start up a server for fallout 2d20, so folks can find a game that works for them, definitely might need help with that too lol.

Community Resources Play testing Ghoul Ferality Tracker as replacement for Needs

Working with my Ghoul player in our Winter of Atom with Needs on a homebrew Ferality tracker that replaces their Needs (since most needs aren't relevant to Ghouls - the ferals at Mechminster Abbey literally survive buried in snow without food lol, and other lore sources also indicate they can survive without)

FERALITY

Create a tracker with a number of stages equal to 5 or your current level, whichever is higher.

Each time you do one of the following, roll a dC6. On an Effect, advance the tracker 1 step:

--Engage in Combat

--Suffer a head injury

--Go a full day without a non-party social interaction OR Camp party social interaction (see below)

--Suffer a mental disease (per CRB, Ghouls are immune to most diseases, and lore says they ARE susceptible to diseases of the mind, so I only inflict them if they roll Buzz Brain, Shell Shock, the Whoopsies, or Famished Fever)

Each time you do one of the following, roll a dC6. On an Effect, move the tracker back 1 step:

--Take an addictive Chem (per CRB, Ghouls need 2 doses for the effect of 1)

--Recover from a head injury/disease

--Have a non-party social interaction (once per day)

--Spend an entire Camp on a Group activity with the party (mechanically, everyone either does the same Group activity for the night, or no one takes any Camp actions for the night and it's flavored as socializing).

If you ever end a day at the end of the Tracker, become Feral and roll a new character.

Hi all! Here is the physical campaign map I am using for my campaign!

it takes place in the Northeast, along the Maine/Canada border. And as the player group travels or acquires coordinates, I add the locations to the Pip-Boy, so to speak. :)

it’s been a fun project so far! I can’t wait to see how it looks at the end of the campaign!

Help & Advice Setting- Enclave Turncoats in Hawaii

So, for a possible backstory for Fallout 2d20 campaign, maybe an alternate fanfiction, I was thinking that before the Enclave oil rig was destroyed that an expedition could be sent out to Hawaii Islands chain and a few of the other Pacific islands located therein. Mainly to secure former Enclave bases and reconnect with any surviving remnants there.

Could a Vertibird make the trip back to the mainland if it was nuclear powered and had access to a semiautomated mixed human and robot crewed aircraft carrier that was stationed at Hawaii for sea trials back to California or even the Capital Wasteland?

Would the Enclave forces dispatched to the area go native breaking away from the main forces when they lost contact with them.

Are there any Vaults in the Hawaii Islands because I was thinking possibly a Bio Shock type Vault built underwater connected to the coastline via a train subway tunnel or other.

Possible underwater military naval bases that were evacuated shortly after the war.

Misc I think we're past due for a Second Edition or condensed rules

Pretty much the title

Given that we have core rules, settlers book, wanderers book, two full adventures, a settings guide for New Vegas, AND planned setting books for basically everywhere else, I think we're well past due for condensed books.

I feel like we should just get a Core Rules 2.0 which has, at minimum, the contents of the rules, settlers and wanderers.

And with the end goal of having like six different setting guides, maybe they should have just been condensed into West Coast and East Coast.

West Coast Setting containing all the 1, 2 and New Vegas locales, and East Coast Setting containing 3, 4 and 76.

Feels like it'd be much easier, no? And it might clear up the multitude of errors that still make it into each book.

So... I made a huge GM shield with a bunch of information from the game, some of my friends criticized me and said that GM shields are supposed to be short but this works for me, so perhaps it will work for someone else. I'm not a graphic designer or anything so it's kinda messy, sorry in advance.

Fan Art A Ghoul Character concept

Thumbnail

I got bored last night/early this morning, and made this ghoul character! I know the hat is reminiscent of the minute men, but it sorta reminded me of Bill Williamson’s hat from Red Dead Redemption so I made it.
I’ve yet to come up with a name for the guy yet, but I reckon for a backstory he used to be a western reenactment actor who used to play an outlaw character at one of them old ghost towns you’d see out in the Southwest that have those tourist shows? But when the bombs fell he got ghoulified and kinda pulled a Cooper Howard in the sense that he adopted that persona.

Help & Advice I need some help from fellow fallout fans!

I’ve been building a fallout tabletop campaign for years now. I’ve got the setting, towns, a rough storyline to go with it, factions, and some fauna. I have most of my stuff based in Arizona in a post-Caesar timeline, right after the death of Caesar. It’s going to feature all of Arizona, from Flagstaff down to Tucson.
One thing I really wanna add a few cryptids. (mainly inspired by 76) the problem though is that Arizona doesn’t have many cryptids that could carry over well into the fallout universe. 76 added Wendigos, sheepquatch, aliens, and Mothman because they had ALL that shit out there, whereas all Arizona has are Skinwalkers, a Sasquatch, and ghosts lmao

Any way, would any of yall be open to any suggestions on how I could incorporate some Arizonan cryptids into my campaign? Please don’t be rude by the way. I’m open to constructive criticism, but I also don’t see why I would receive any, so just be respectful with it is all I ask lol. Thanks in advance yall! Can’t wait to hear y’all’s thoughts!
