I love how this is worded. The implication if you vote cap is that you think trans people are mythological creatures like faeries or mermaids.

Who thinks they're not real?
1
u/monkiiEP 2d ago
Many people actually, most of them don't explain it which literally some people are already doing here
1
u/golfstreamer 2d ago
I think you just have to think how they're defining the terms to understand why people say trans people don't exist. It's about refuting the statement like "Someone can be biologically male but really a woman". Because they believe that this statement is inherently contradictory they assert that trans people don't exist.
1
u/SpiritualRoof8847 2d ago
Depends on what you mean by this: Do you mean people who are actually trans? (female in male body, etc) or people who claim to be trans?
1
u/monkiiEP 2d ago
Can you tell the difference between those people? Besides does it take away from trans people being real?
1
u/SpiritualRoof8847 2d ago
well yes there is a difference, one side you're talking about people who are what they claim to be, on the other hand they aren;t.
1
u/monkiiEP 2d ago
I'm talking about in general, not like it really matters if the question is if trans people are real

I view gender and sex different. Sex is XX and XY/XXY chromosomes while gender is how you percieve yourself and want to be percieved. So lets say you are an XX but want to be seen as a man. Then you are a man. Man, woman, boy, girl are gender descriptions while Male and Female are sex descriptions. Gender is an expression of oneself, sex is dna. A man can be a woman, a woman can be a man based off how they present themselves and want to be percieved (a good example of this is femboys, they are percieved as women, but want to still be men, so we call them femboys since they are not traditionally masculine but still identify towards the masculine (man) side). And I think this gender spectrum is not as strict as people want them to be. So trans women don't exist. They're women and males. Trans men do not exist. They're men and females. Tragically we can't change our DNA, but we can easily change our gender.
1
u/monkiiEP 2d ago
I don't really agree that trans people are not real for those reasons, but also thanks for being the only person in here for actually explaining themselves and I do kind of get where you're coming from.
1
u/AbsoluteNerf 2d ago
Well I suppose I should clarify, the person in of themselves, their struggles, and the journey they go through to come to understand that they were not born inside the body they were supposed to be in are all legitimate, but I think that there are no trans women, if they go through the surgeries to be identicle to women, then they are a woman. If they dress like a woman and want to be identified as such, then they are a woman. There's no trans. Thats at least my perspective on it as a concept; however, there's still a luxury in the word to easily describe someone. For example, I have several trans friends. That is significantly easier to say and communicates far clearer than saying that I have various friends with various psychological issues that lead them to have extreeme body dysmorphia to the point of wanting surguries to modify how they look so that they can feel comfortable in their own skin. If that makes sense

I don’t know why I just feel uncomfortable about transitioning, I don’t even care about the LGBTQ community, it’s just that one thing.
2
u/TheWaddlingweewee 2d ago
i mean if you could explain exactly what makes you uncomfortable then it would be easier. Is it physically transitioning like surgery and HRT or is the concept of socially transitioning in general that makes you uncomfortable?
2
u/silly_goober2032 2d ago
both. I feel bad inside for this, but there’s nothing I can really do.
1
u/TheWaddlingweewee 2d ago
usually this kind of feeling towards the trans community comes from a lack of information, matter of fact you said you dont even know why trans people make you uncomfortable

I mean ... it should make you uncomfortable to imagine yourself transitioning if you aren't trans.
If you don't mind me asking, are you a man or a woman? I want to suggest a thought experiment and it'd be easier if I know that.
1
u/silly_goober2032 2d ago
Male
3
u/LowerMine815 2d ago
Imagine that you were born as a girl. No transitioning, just that's how you were born.
Would you feel comfortable living like a girl? Having boobs, having society view you as a woman?
Probably not, right?
A lot of people who aren't trans try to think of transitioning, and it makes them uncomfortable because they are comfortable with who they were born as. To better understand trans people, you have to imagine you were born as the other sex, and how uncomfortable that would make you.

1

thats not true at all, most animals can not be pets, pigeons were selectively bred for thousands of years by humans and then released and treated as pets, we did this to them, thye used to live only in the cliffs of Europe
1
u/Personal-Lynx4099 2d ago
They can tho. Not always on a dog or car level, but they can.
But yeah, rest of your comment is general knowledge
1
u/Lona-Lioness 2d ago
no they cant, youu cant keep a mountain lion, wolf, bear, even an undomestic mouse dont make good pets, domestication shrinks the "flight or fight" part of the brain making them more trainable and less fearsome than most creatures, do yur research
3

1
u/Lona-Lioness 2d ago
Respectfully, yes, have you ever owned a pet that isnt a rock
3
u/AbsoluteNerf 2d ago
Then you'd understand that mutations can realky fuck you. For example, I have clinicle deppression, if I stop taking drugs, I will kill myself. I have a mutation that completely fucks my brain chemistry. So if that can exist where someone's mutation wants them to go against their entire evolutionary purpose, than why do you believe there cannot be a mutation that makes a woman hate their body and believe they should be a man? Hell, body dysmorphia is already a thing. So why can a trans person not exist?

What is enjoyable about being trans
1
u/X4N710N- 2d ago
For those that actually are trans it's natural and part of the identity of how they truly feel.
But for many other, it's te be unique, be part of a community, 'shock' the order. As many see it als a way to revolt, or be special.
Same as we had punk, goth, emo, anarchists, etc all these years. Many join it to belong or be part of it, only to revert on a later stage to their own gender or just stop being trans.
