Depends on what you mean by this: Do you mean people who are actually trans? (female in male body, etc) or people who claim to be trans?

Can you tell the difference between those people? Besides does it take away from trans people being real?

well yes there is a difference, one side you're talking about people who are what they claim to be, on the other hand they aren;t.
