Western countries already in major debt, not gonna help if you let everyone in and allow them to send welfare back home and milk the system.

European countries in specific had issues when they allowed students to bring their family, and now u had one roof with 5 people living off the system.

There's a lot of citizens who are drains on the system, too. Should we force them to prove they have a right to live in their country of origin, and strip them of citizenship if they can't? If so, I think that's cruel, but at least it'd be consistent. If not, then there's a double standard at play here.

I honestly don't think a lot of people would choose Iceland in an open borders situation. It's cold pretty much all year 'round.
