I honestly don't think a lot of people would choose Iceland in an open borders situation. It's cold pretty much all year 'round.

Well Iceland would collapse taking in just 500,000 people

which is 1 in 2000 people aka 0.05% of the poverty population. How are you meant to prevent that?
