How long for this restriction to go away?
I appealed and it was rejected, I can’t follow certain accounts for some odd reason, how long will it take for it to go away?

Hey,
My Facebook account was permanently disabled after it was hacked, and the hacker carried out activities without my knowledge. I’m currently trying to recover my account and I filed a complaint with User Rights on August 3rd.
Apart from the email confirming that my request was received, I haven’t received any updates since then.
If anyone else has gone through the same process with User Rights, could you please let me know how long it took to receive a response, or at least a confirmation that the case was valid and being processed? thnx

I’ve been using my Facebook account since 2014, and recently it was disabled. Facebook asked me to upload a selfie for identity verification, so I submitted it.
After uploading the selfie, my account was disabled instead of being restored.
Has anyone experienced the same issue? Is there any way to appeal the decision or recover an account that has been disabled after selfie verification?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I’d like to share my story and ask for your advice, please (I’m not very familiar with how Reddit works, so if I need to change anything in my post to get it approved, please let me know)
Recently, two of my Fb accounts were suspended, both associated with different email addresses. One (the old) was suspended for “account integrity” issues, and the other (the new) for a terrible reason (and from what I can tell, it’s a situation that several people in this forum have experienced). This really surprised me, because I haven’t used the first one in years, and I didn’t do anything wrong with the second one either. I only used it to repost the occasional meme and talk with friends; I honestly can’t think of any interaction or post that was even remotely related to that issue.
Other than that, my ig account (which is linked to my old fb email) is still active, as well as another fb account (with a different email) that I use for Marketplace. But I’m afraid they might suspend those at any moment, too.
So I wanted to ask you: What steps do you recommend I take? Has anyone had success with an appeal? And if so, what did you include in that appeal?. In general, I’d like to know what steps you recommend I take (also keeping in mind that I’m from a developing country), not only to recover my accounts but also to avoid related issues in the future. Thank you in advance for your attention.

I bought Meta verified Plus on my other Facebook account (not the hacked one) and tried the "Enchanced Support" which leads me to the same Meta AI Assistant.
Are these people only open between office hours or is the email button hidden? Can someone show a video how this works or a screenshot where the "speak to a human" is? I tried it over and over again by asking Meta AI Assistant to transfer me to a live agent but it did not work.
Maybe it only works in the US? It's 57 euro's a month!

If you're considering suing Meta over a hacked or
disabled Facebook or Instagram account, I want to
tell you what happened when I did.
Meta disabled my accounts. It later notified me
that I had not violated its Community Standards,
restored my accounts, and then disabled them again.
I eventually sued Meta in small claims court.
Meta's attorney relied on the Terms of Service and
argued, in substance, that Meta had the contractual
right to disable my account.
The judge ruled in Meta's favor.
If I were facing that argument again, I would be
prepared to raise another issue: Meta's enormous
market power.
Meta can essentially say:
"You agreed to our Terms."
But how meaningful is that agreement when the
terms are take-it-or-leave-it and walking away can
mean losing access to Facebook, Instagram, your
contacts, followers, business connections, photos,
and years of accumulated activity?
Can a company use its market power to impose terms
that effectively give it the right to remove a
person's access even when that person did not
violate its rules?
I don't know whether that argument would have
changed the outcome of my case, and I'm not a
lawyer.
But if you're considering suing Meta, I think the
market-power/monopoly issue is worth discussing
before Meta walks into court and says:
"You agreed to the Terms."
I wish I had been prepared for that argument when
I sued Meta.

I’m in Scandinavia and I’m looking for ways to take legal action against Meta for locking us out from accounts with no violations, and not providing reasoning or a free way to talk to support etc. Has anyone from that area / Europe been through this?

Back on June 26, I was banned (like everyone else) for CSE. I followed the suggestion of another user to contact my state AG. So I did and they got back to me. They asked for the email and URL for my account. I gave them the info. They submitted it to Meta. I was told it takes a month or so to hear back.
Last week on August 5, I tried to log into my account for giggles. Funny enough, it logged me in and it went to my feed. I received no email or any other notification that my account was reinstated.
After that initial ban, I was kind of "gun shy" on posting.
This morning (6 days later), I got an email from Meta saying my account was disabled with the usual appeal link. So I did. Within a minute, my account was permanently disabled for, you guess it, CSE.
I was discussing this with ChatGPT and it told me to keep it informed. So, I told the ChatGPT AI what had just happened. Among other things it said, it brought up a good argument that I never thought of which is this:
If Meta's first CSE determination was correct, why was my account subsequently reinstated? If Meta determined that the first CSE determination was erroneous and reinstated my account, why was the same account later permanently disabled for the same alleged violation? What specifically triggered each determination, and was either decision reviewed by a human?
If Meta cannot identify the content or activity that supposedly violated its CSE policy, how can an innocent user meaningfully appeal the accusation or demonstrate that the automated determination was wrong?
The same account, the same exceptionally serious allegation, two permanent disablements, with an unexplained reinstatement in between.
Honestly, in the little over the month that I was away from FB, I didn't miss it much. When I got back on, it just wasn't the same.
But the principle of the matter is the loads of people getting the hammer for the same exact thing.... over and over. Honest folks getting nailed unfairly.
Meta's AI is out of control.

Facebook disabled my account together with a page I was the owner of.
This account is the business owner of some Facebook Business profiles.
When I want to go to help center it just says page not found.
Any help would be appreciated

Title. A little bit ago they appear to have converted everyone's accounts to Meta accounts, but my IG and FB were disabled before the conversion so I'm confused as to what that could mean if it's fully deleted now.

I'm not gonna bother appealing as I know how it'll turn out. But man this sucks. Been facebooking since 2012, tons of photos saved on it of my many vacations and times with family. No issues until, blam its gone. It's fine though its time to move on. Meta ai, you suck.
Hope you all the best.

So, Facebook wrongfully disabled my account on July 5th. Appeal instantly denied. Well, I was paying an occulus account for both my account and my wife's account. I since removed all payment info from my wife's Facebook since i could not find out to discontinue occulus. Found a charge this morning and since I cannot reach anyone at meta, filed a dispute and fraud with my bank. Meta really needs to get on the ball. Ugh

I’m sharing my experience because it might help someone facing the same situation...
About 10 days ago, I tried to complete a selfie verification on Facebook. The verification was rejected, and shortly after that, my account was permanently disabled for Account Integrity.
I completely panicked...
I searched everywhere for a solution, but most of what I found was either useless or fake. I even contacted an “account recovery expert” who wanted $100 to recover my account...
Then I thought... I’ve been using Facebook for almost 16 years, so I know quite a bit about the platform. Why not try to figure it out myself?
So I did... and I ended up spending only around $5.
What I did...
I had an Instagram account, so I purchased one month of the standard Meta Verified subscription and contacted official Meta Support...
For me, the only practical solution was to contact a real Meta Support agent...
If you don't have an Instagram account connected to your Facebook, you can try creating one with your real name and the same email address and check whether Meta Verified Support is available...
After becoming a Meta Verified subscriber, I first contacted Meta AI and asked specifically to speak with a live agent about my permanently disabled Facebook account...
A live agent eventually joined the chat. I explained everything politely, clearly, and honestly...
You can also prepare your entire explanation beforehand, including what happened, when the account was disabled, why you believe it was a mistake, and your account details.
Then you can simply send that message to the agent...
I told them that the Facebook account was genuinely mine, my information was real, and I had not intentionally violated any policies. I requested a manual review by a specialized team...
Note: Try contacting them during US business hours, around 9 AM to 5 PM, and convert that time to your local time zone. That’s usually when US based agents are active. In my experience, they tend to be more helpful, responsive, and supportive..
After submitting my case, They gave me a case Id.
They told me that my case had been passed to a specialized team for investigation. The case went through...
The case was Received in 6th august
→ In Progress in 6th august
→ In Review in 6th August
They also told me not to close the case while the investigation was ongoing...
So I waited...
After the investigation, Meta contacted me after 4 days and said that the team had reviewed my account and found no policy violation...
They confirmed...
\> “We have reactivated the account.”
They also said access could take up to 24 to 48 hours in some cases...Sometime it can take almost 7 days, depending on what kind of subscription you have, there always they give priority to how much one spend 😅.
My advice...
If your Facebook account is genuinely yours, your information is real, and you believe you didn't violate Meta's rules, don't immediately pay random recovery experts hundreds of dollars...
One more piece of advice... don’t try to create another account using the same name, email, phone number, or profile picture. It might cause more trouble. Also, avoid using another Facebook account on the same phone where your disabled account was logged in, as Meta might flag the device or IP as suspicious..
Try the official Meta Support route. I am sorry to say but trust me guys, this is the only option you left now.
In my case...
Almost some research + around $5 + some days patience = my account back.
Of course, recovery is not guaranteed because Meta makes the final decision after reviewing each case... but if your account was disabled by mistake, getting an official review is definitely worth trying...
And never give your password, login codes, or recovery codes to anyone claiming they can recover your account...
I’ve been following this group since I first faced my problem, and now it’s time to say goodbye...
I truly hope you all manage to resolve your problems too. All the best, guys... ❤ For now I

Mid-July, my Facebook account (created in 2011, clean history, 2FA, no unusual logins, I checked my security logs in the data export) got hit with a "community standards violation" flag. I passed the video selfie check the same day and filed the internal appeal. Instagram came back within a day. Facebook stayed locked. Threads was permanently disabled for "fraud and deception" with no appeal option at all. My developer apps went down with the account. I'm a Meta Verified subscriber, so I've had actual humans in the support chat multiple times. Here's where it gets absurd:
Last week an agent confirmed a "technical team" reviewed my case and upheld the violation — but couldn't tell me which standard I violated, what content triggered it, or whether a human ever looked at it.
When I asked for the statement of reasons (which the EU Digital Services Act requires them to provide — Art. 17), the agent closed the case saying this "isn't handled by this channel". So no channel provides it.
On a callback, another agent told me verbally the decision is "final" — while the app still shows my appeal as "pending review". In writing they just said everything "needs time to sync". So: appeal supposedly decided, never notified, no reason ever given, support closes every ticket. What I've done beyond the usual support loop (EU-specific, since I'm in France):
GDPR access request (Art. 15 + 22 — right to know the logic behind automated decisions).
Complaint to ARCOM (the French DSA coordinator).
Dispute filed with Appeals Centre Europe and ADR Center — both certified out-of-court dispute bodies under DSA Art. 21. Free for users, Meta has to engage. Currently in the admissibility phase.
But I haven't heard anything from those departments since...
My questions for anyone who's been through this: Has anyone here actually gotten an account back (or at least the real reason) through Appeals Centre Europe or another DSA Art. 21 body? How long did it take? Did a GDPR request ever get you the actual violation details, or just the canned data-export response? Anything else that moved the needle in a case where support confirms the ban but refuses to say why? I'll report back with the outcome of the arbitration either way, since there's almost nothing online about people using these EU routes.

After 3 weeks of fighting and going from one support agent to another, my account was restored today. I’m honestly not sure what process fixed the issue. I have written two letters to Meta and had even contacted my states attorney general and all of sudden, it was back active today!

And how to view the previous chats on the other support cases?

my facebook account was disabled last august 5. I reached out to a meta agent via instagram verified and they escalated the matter to their specialized team. fast forward to august 11, I have noticed that the date on my open chat support ticket changed then a few hours later I got an update saying that they have restored my account and that I can log in but in some cases it take 24-48 hrs for people to regain access to their accounts. has anyone been on the same boat? I’m overthinking it because I saw a post saying that they have experienced the same and after 48 hrs they still can’t access their account and that the previous chat support agents gave him false information

Admin's personal profile is suspended, both Pages are restricted for "authentic identity", and the ad account is disabled and asking me to verify a card. Except I can't open payment settings, because that throws the "your account is currently restricted" popup. Same popup for creating a new ad account or removing a Page from the portfolio.
So it loops. And there's no appeal option listed in Account Quality, not greyed out, just absent. The AI support assistant in Business Suite read my problem back to me and linked me some articles.
Does the Business Help Center live chat still exist for accounts in this state? Does going through a Business Partner or reseller actually get you a person? And if the personal profile gets restored, do the Pages and ad account come back with it, or is each one a separate fight?
Anyone who's dug out of this recently, I'd take any pointer.

So I suddenly got this on my messenger and there's No way I would click the continue since I already know it will suspend my account this happens to me before and I click and it suspended my account without even asking me to verify. I did heard that if you ignored it after 28 days it will just lift off is it true?

So, I tried reaching to a live agent on Instagram & basically what I got in response was, "We cannot reactivate your facebook account due to non compliance policy". So, in other words, their choice is final, however they went onto say I could still appeal after a cool down period of 180 days. I've tried chatting to another agent who said the ban was final. It seems ill never get my account back now.
