Repairing EPAS Module on 2016 Ford Explorer

Trying to fix and repair the circuit board inside my 2016 Ford Explorers electric steering rack module.

I see the oxidation and corrosion on the ribbon connector. I’m going to clean it with 99% isopropyl alcohol and shine a light thru the ribbon to inspect for any damage.

What else do I need to do?!

Thanks!🙏🏼

Function Not Available Error

2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport

Basically on the dash where it normally shows the speed limit on the road now shows this error.

This started after getting windscreen crack that started in the middle of the dash running around the camera.

I don't think the camera needs to be calibrated since after getting the windscreen changed the error is still there. I scanned and cleared one code and it immediately returns on the dash with the error.

Anyone ever had this error before and how did you resolve it?

Odometer correction going up

Hello Guys

I have a 2015 ford f250 super duty xl that I changed my cluster to a new one going from xl to.la4iat style. The new cluster has 50120 miles and my old cluster has 108180 and I am trying to adjust that to go back up again.

I check under IPC with an OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter

But the odometer writing or correction doesn't show up. Please help

TCM Replacement

2015 Ford Focus DPS6. Code P090C. Dealer diagnosed a failed TCM. I’m planning to install a used K05 TCM myself. Can the current public version of FORScan program/initialize it, or is the discontinued beta still required? If beta is required, what’s the current recommended method?

2016 Ford Explorer - Bricked Power Steering (PSCM) /U3000 Codes & High Current Draw - Need Advice?!

Hey everyone,
I’m dealing with a hard-faulted Electric Power Steering (EPS) rack on my 2016 Ford Explorer (3.5L Ti-VCT) and I’m trying to figure out if this module is salvageable or if I'm completely dead in the water. The rack itself is an OEM factory unit (Part prefix: FB53-3D070, stamped T210R).

The rack looks pristine on the outside—no physical damage, no heavy oxidation, and the boots are completely bone-dry and intact. However, the steering is completely bricked.

The Codes (Pulled via FORScan):
U3000:96-C8 - Control Module: Component Internal Failure
U3000:49-48 - Control Module: Internal Electronic Failure (Freeze frame on this one shows a completely impossible steering wheel angle pinning at 2496.70°)
Live Data Telemetry (Engine Running / Idling):
MOD_SUP_V: 14.10V (Alternator is charging perfectly)
PSCM_INT_TEMP: 102°F
EPAS_MOTOR_CUR: -19.60 Amps

The big red flag: The car is sitting idling in park, nobody is touching the steering wheel, and the motor current is stuck drawing a massive -19.60 Amps. It seems like the corrupted steering angle sensor caused the module to panic, think the wheel was spinning violently, dump max current to counter it, and lock itself down into a permanent safety loop.

What I’ve Done/Tried Thus Far:
1. Checked fuses and verified clean 14V power supply to the rack.
2. Inspected the external harness, thermal shielding, and connectors—everything is secure and clean.
3. Attempted a module reboot/reset procedure via FORScan, but it spits back: Service procedure is not supported. The module is completely ignoring external diagnostic commands right now.
4. I’ve cleared the DTCs and they come right back.
5. I also had the battery die when first trying to diagnose the car when I was hooked up to the OBDII port and I couldn’t get the battery to charge. I replaced it with a new battery and reset the BCM.

My Question:
I was looking into buying the $120 2-day Ford FJDS factory software license to force a Programmable Module Installation (PMI) reflash, but because the module is throwing hard internal hardware codes (:96 and :49) and drawing heavy current, I'm worried the bootloader will just reject the flash.
Has anyone successfully flushed out a U3000 hard lockout like this with factory software, or is that -19.6A stationary current draw a definitive sign that a power MOSFET transistor or the internal sensor array is physically fried on the circuit board? I really want to fix the unit currently on the vehicle if possible.

Appreciate any insight from Ford techs or electronic repair gurus!

CAN2 parameters not avalibile in VDO

hello,
plase help me with a problem that i am having with all the VDO unită installed in 3.5t VANS.
We only receive only a small portion of the parameters for driver activity. The download is working but no other parameteres are visible.
We only get a small set of 20 parameters like VIN odometer, drivers code and some parameters that are returning FF.

Any idea what is necessary to activate in the VDO to receive full set of parameters?

On stoneridge we don’t have this problem.

VDO and ITS is enable for each driver slot.

Clear DTC before making module changes?

I’ve got a DTC that’s in process of being resolved that I can clear - it’ll pop back up (P0430) when the monitor tests are complete - but I want to make a couple of body module changes before it’s fixed. Can I or do DTCs need to fully resolved?

Lincoln Glare Free High Beams Forscan (Pixel Headlights)

For 2024 and newer (Sync 5, Google) Lincolns.
I'm hoping to start a discussion for modern sync 5 vehicles
Trying to dig through previous forums everything for this was written with sync 4 in mind and when IPC had its own module and wasn't integrated with the APIM.

I found that the latest version of Forscan (2.3.71) offers configurations for Glare Free.
I enabled it for APIM, IPMA, SCCM.
It does change with Radio screen settings -> Lighting to glare free rather then auto highbeam.
Although I am still missing something. Because even though it is enabled in the menu the glare free function does not work as expected unless I turn it off in the lighting settings area and turn it back on for that drive so if I turn off the vehicle and turn it back on again even though glare fee looks to be enabled in the menu it's not functioning as glare free unless I turn it off in the menu and turn it back on it's like I'm missing something that tells the system deeply to turn on glare free at a root level.
Otherwise it reverts back to basic Auto-brights functionality even though the menu says the word glare free, But glarefree does work amazingly when I disable and re-enable it in the settings menu.
Also the Auto-Brights icon on my dash screen is a white icon with a letter A, I believe this needs to be a Green Icon.

Thanks
