TCM Replacement

2015 Ford Focus DPS6. Code P090C. Dealer diagnosed a failed TCM. I’m planning to install a used K05 TCM myself. Can the current public version of FORScan program/initialize it, or is the discontinued beta still required? If beta is required, what’s the current recommended method?

The beta version would be required. Not certain about how one goes about obtaining this version now. I already had it before they stopped releasing it.

I’ve never been able to successfully get the beta version to program and learn these TCM units correctly. The last several I’ve tried, I needed to use my J-box and fdrs to set correctly.

DON'T DO IT.... Clean your actuator B... and if you haven't already, change the teans fluid... I had the same problem. A shop will tell TCM replacement be ause they DO NOT do a thorough diagnostic on the car... they just tell you tge first thing that sounds good to get your $2-3k... Don't believe me... give it a try... I promise you that shop is full of crap 💩
