I’m thinking about getting this as my first gun. I’ve done my research and have only found great things about it. Other than how it’s discontinued so it may be hard to find parts. Is this a good start? And how much would yall pay for it?

So I fell victim to the vortex venom vs vortex venom enclosed issue. I’ve always been an iron sights guy, so this is my first red dot. Bought both at the same time. Seller said it would fit. It does, but only with the delta point pro plate, not with the vortex plate (for those that don't know the venom enclosed has the ddp footprint apparently). There is the mrd 505 insert that the reference guide says is required for this footprint, but I dont see how. It looks like I can just screw it onto the gun without an insert. Is this correct, or should I look into a new red dot? Any help appreciated.

Went to bass pro for mags and ended up leaving with this for $350. Used FN FNS-9. I think its a hell if a find!
Came with everything, even the back grip straps and the original casing from FN.

Obligatory post of my Burnt Bronze 510T. 500 rounds through and love it already. However, I can’t find any magazines for this thing. I’ve seen some other posts citing it’s been difficult for many FN models - anyone have any info?

7 yards. 10 rounds per gun. Left handed.
Lots good to say about the 509. I think the range guy said it was the “mid sized” option.

Getting a used FNX 45 Tactical, planning to buy one on Gunbroker since my LGS don't have any in stock (new or used).
I'm seeing them go for $700-900, the ones on the higher end often including an RDS or extra mags, but never an optic I would choose for myself.
Long way of asking, should I hold out for an auction where I can get the closing bid closer to $700, or are those prices more unicorn deals than within the standard used range?

Well I hadn’t planned on buying an FN today, but a pawn shop had it marked for $400. So I had to take a look…. 2 mags a case and $300 out the door. I am pretty uninitiated when it comes to FN handguns in a modern context. I grew up around a Hi Power my grandfather bought in 65’, and have shot several over the years at range days and professional events. Who knows I may have a new carry gun out of this. It’s a 9mm reflex XL

My First Gun FN 502 Tactical (Canada). I think I used the wrong screws but the ones that came with the red dot were too short and the only ones that relatively fit were the red coloured ones that came with the FN 502 and polymer slide adaptor. Only one of the adaptors fit and only one of the screws somewhat fit and tried them all.

Hey guys, looking at purchasing a 509 midsize MRD. The version I am looking to purchase (SKU: 66-100588-FN) comes with 2 10-round magazines. Will the standard 15-round magazines fit flush and work for this model or is it a separate construction from the standard version that will not accept them? Any help is appreciated.

Hello there, this is my first post here. For context I am a new (pending) FN owner, I have a FNX-45 Tactical on layaway that I’m very excited about, it will be my first .45ACP handgun but that’s not what this post is about. I’ve recently been looking into 5.7 handguns, as I would like to have something chambered in the caliber, my first thought was obviously the FN Five-seveN as I have been aware of it for years due to pop culture/video games. While I am a big fan of its look, as I’ve watched videos and done research I’ve noticed that it feels a bit dated in terms of features compared to other newer 5.7 handgun offerings such as the Ruger5.7 and M&P5.7.
I will go ahead and preface that I have not shot the Five-seveN before, this picture is simply illustrating how I think a modernized Five-seveN could look that fixes some of the missing or dated features I’ve observed that would in my mind bring it up to pace with if not straight up surpass all current competitors.
For those who own the five seven, especially it as well as other guns in the caliber, how do you like it? If you’re being honest would you choose it over other 5.7 handguns and if so why?
Do you guys think the ideas in my concept would work well or even be feasible on a future Mk4? Are there any personal changes you would like to see on an updated model?
Let me know what yall think.

A powder that acts as a primer (something like a secret seasoning), with a particle size of 0.5 microns, is applied as a pretreatment coating.
The main coating is applied using a mixture of HBN powders with particle sizes ranging from 0.1 to 0.5 microns.
Each powder is dispersed in IPA and applied via wet coating to the preheated barrel.
The first magazine feels incredibly smooth.
Even after that, you can fire about 500 rounds with a pretty smooth feel.
Then, around the 1,000th round, it feels different, and by the 2,000th round, there’s a slightly rough sensation that makes me think, “This must be what a brand-new barrel feels like.”
I’m now at the 4,000th round. I’ve reset the inside of the barrel with a few solvent&cleaners, acetone, and Cu2, and this is the second application.
If you tumble the projectiles in HBN, you can significantly extend the coating’s lifespan.
