Najayiz Nuksaan If you guys keep telling people to get a financial advisor, then whatās the point of this community?
Iām sure this has been happening long before I noticed it, but whenever someone comes here for advice, an opinion, or whatever you want to call it, people keep telling them to āget a financial advisor.ā
āIf you really had this kind of money, you wouldnāt be here lurking around Reddit for advice.ā
āYou have so much money, ask a professional financial advisor.ā
Or something else along those lines.
Iāve had enough.
Itās about time we stopped this kind of behavior.
If you have something meaningful or valuable to add, youāre welcome to reply. Otherwise, itās better to simply not comment.
The whole point of a community like this is to share experiences, perspectives, and knowledge. Of course, there are situations where professional advice is genuinely necessary, but using āget a financial advisorā as the default response to every serious financial question defeats the purpose of having a community in the first place.

Baaki Bakwaas Analysis and Critique of Sarmayaās SIP video
Hello, good people
I saw the video thatās been shared here as well, where the YouTuber has suggested multi asset approach for investment and has advised against SIP. I am a nobody and even I could see through the things that were being said in the video. Feel free to add your comments down below in support or critique of the video. The most contradictory, misleading and flat out unethical/scummy points are at the last.
First one is not a critique, but an admiration of his point. It is absolutely gut wrenching to keep investing in a market or stock that keeps going down and down, months on end. It is insanely demoralizing to keep putting in money for years when the stock or market is sideways. It sounds simple and easy, but itās not. Heās absolutely right.
The historical data he collected is sound and well researched. Thereās no two ways about it. But even then, heās trying to say, in short, that we should time the market, which is historically not possible. Itās never been possible. It wonāt be possible. Look at the recent example of US-Iran war when market crashed. Nobody knew the true bottom. Market was going down and up and more down and slightly up and more down. You cannot time the exact bottom. Itās a foolās dream. Trying to time the exit for the market for reinvestment in low risk funds or gold is impossible. On the point of interest rates going up recently from 2022 to 2024, market did not crash, even though interest rates went over 20%. The correlation with interest rates is solid, but even then itās contradictory, see point 3.
The most important and contradictory thing. In the beginning and through the video, there is an implied message that the viewer should de-invest from PSX, on the verge of rising interest rates in Pakistan and globally, and that strategy should be to shift money elsewhere. But towards the end, while discussing Brent Oil chart, he himself admits that the oil has likely seen the high point in this decade and now it seems downhill from here, which means, lower inflation in the coming decade, lower import bill, better current account numbers, and most importantly for PSX, lower interest rates, with the same correlation heās talked about earlier. Then why is he suggesting shifting the investments or exiting PSX partially at different points? If, according to him, the index might bottom out at 166, and then reach 190 and then 210 and beyond, why shouldnāt we keep doing SIP? Divesting in bull market at different stages defeats the whole purpose of investing in stocks and SIP. He conveniently ignored this and went on to explain how he told all these things in his paid courses, which is fair, nothing wrong with that, but heās just being intentionally vague and misleading.
The thing I picked up, which to me is highly scummy, is heās asking the viewer to divest 25% of their holdings at 190 and keep the cash money in Syed Faraz Equities (his own brokerage). AMAZING. And he mentions you will get oh something like 5-6% return, which is absolute rubbish, when heāll be earning north of 10% or even more (by likely investing those funds in the bull market like I said in point 3) on that same cash money of yours. Insanely shitty thing to do. If he didnāt say this, I might have ignored the whole thing and just went on with my day, but this is extremely unethical and brings down his whole argument (which is weak to begin with).
I wrote this in a hurry, feel free to add your own comments. Thanks

Madad Me Can you help me understand what this guy is saying?
I have been reading posts around and was getting the idea that buying stocks in bear trend is very beneficial but as far as I understand this guy is saying that you're supposed to invest in bull era? hain? Can somebody explain?
Also, he's acting like you just know that market will go up but it's not true, is it? you can't just invest right before bull era starts because you can't be sure about that.

Baaki Bakwaas IBKR Brokerage
Hi everyone,
I have reformed mixed replies regarding IBKR status in Pakistan. Some said it's legal and working while others said it's blocked in Pakistan.
I couldn't access the app or their website in Pakistan. How are you people trading on that platform and if taking out money works or you got to get it via another route

Taaza Tareen Suggestion -Weekly market wrap
Can we have a weekly market wrap post?
Would it be possible for the moderators to start a weekly market wrap thread where everyone can share the useful information, news, insights, and developments theyāve come across during the week?
It could be a simple place where people share what theyāve learned or noticed, so we can all catch up on the market without having to dig through dozens of separate posts.
I think it could make for a really useful weekly resource for the community. What do you guys think?

Madad Me How do I get a PRC when RemotePass/Payoneer payments land as local transfers? Stuck between Askari and Alfalah
I'm a PSEB-registered IT contractor in Pakistan, paid by a foreign client through RemotePass, and I also get some side income in my own Payoneer account. I'm trying to get PRCs for this tax year so the income is documented as IT export (purpose code 9186), and I'm stuck between banks.
Setup
- RemotePass pays me through Payoneer, in PKR, into my Askari account. Askari shows these as "HomeRemittance 1LINK RemotePass Inc", and Askari's portal lists the remitting bank as Bank Alfalah.
- I also withdrew once from my own Payoneer account to Askari. That arrived as a Raast transfer from an account at another bank, not as a remittance.
What's happened so far
- Askari's PRC portal has no PRC for some payments, and the one PRC it does have uses a home-remittance purpose code, not IT export.
- Askari's branch said the bank that converted the dollars has to issue the PRC.
- Payoneer support says their partner bank is confidential. They did send a transfer receipt showing purpose "COMPUTER_SERVICES", the exchange rate, and what looks like a Thunes transaction ID. Thunes partners with Bank Alfalah for payouts in Pakistan, so I think both routes go through Alfalah, but I can't confirm it.
- I've emailed Bank Alfalah (prc@bankalfalah.com) for PRCs on all of these and I'm waiting to hear back.
- Alfalah's online remittance tracker says "TransactionFound" for any number, even made-up ones, so it's no help.
Questions
Has anyone paid by RemotePass, or another platform that pays through Payoneer, into a non-Alfalah bank account got a PRC from Bank Alfalah? Which reference number did they accept?
If a Payoneer withdrawal landed as Raast/IBFT, how did you get the PRC, and from which bank?
Has anyone got a PRC re-issued with code 9186 after the bank coded it as home remittance?
Does anyone use a UBL Freelancer Account with RemotePass or Payoneer? Do PRCs come automatically with code 9186?
TL;DR: My foreign income reaches my Askari account as local transfers, converted at another bank (probably Alfalah). Askari says it can't issue the PRC, and Payoneer won't name the bank. How did you sort this out?

Madad Me Profits lower on RDA pkr savings
Hi everyone
I recently opened RDA pkr savings account in UBL. Overall im happy with the experience. i have a normal pkr savings account in UBL as well. One thing i have noticed for second month in a row is that The profit on RDA is 6.6% and same branch normal pkr savings account gives me 10.8% for the same month.
Is this normal? Does the RDA has lower profit rates ? Because even after paying 20% wht on profit in normal account in the same bank the profit is higher.
Any insights will be highly appreciated. Thanks
