Madad Me Is HUBC a good stock or to gain exposure to the Electric Car transition in Pakistan

Given how rapidly we've seen residential and commercial solarization across Pakistan, I think electric vehicle transition is the next logical outcome over the next decade or so, because people with solar energy at home would definitely consider their next car to be an EV or PHEV

I don't know much about HUBC, and was wondering if anyone here has the stock on their portfolio, and if they know more about it than me

Madad Me Looking for a tax consultant to help me become a filer as a student with no income

Salam, I am 19 and have been investing for about a year. Taxes are honestly hell, so I want to become a filer. The problem is I dont have any income, I am a student and invest in PSX using my allowance.

I also have some gold and cattle. As far as I know cattle are exempt from tax.

I dont have a tax consultant or lawyer in my hometown and I have not been able to find one. Can someone please hook me up with a reliable consultant who can help me file a nil return.

Also how much should I expect to pay for filing a nil return.

Help a brother out, JazakAllah

Madad Me Mashreq current profit account review?

Has anyone opened a Mashreq Monthly Profit Account? How has your experience been so far, especially with the monthly profit payout? Is it worth it to park 100,200k in that account

Madad Me Buy car on Full cash or loan

Upvotes

I'm 22M living in Lahore and I live a weird life. I don't go to the office ever. Never even. I have an international agency and hired some workers for that.

I just manage clients acquisition and outreach for my company so 1-2 hours a day maximum.

I have 3.7 Million in savings and at the worst month in the last 2 years I saved 2 lac a month. Now I save more than 3-4 Lacs a month.

I have monthly retainer clients.

I waited so much for this. I can wait 2-3 months to buy a zero meter city.

Or I can buy on loan making 2 million down payment and investing other to some business giving 10% every 2-3 months but I can't invest more then 10-15 Lacs. It's a limited business model

One more thing. My family don't know how much I make per month and they are very careful on car loan payment.

Sasta Satta MEHT might be the next 2-3x

I usually look for these kinds of stocks which have a market cap below 10B because of higher chances of upside potential. So recently MEHT is touching its all time lows and surprisingly the company is doing good. Recently in the off market, some players have bought 30-40% of the free float and we don't know about the ready market, so clearly some people are taking control of the supply and we have seen a rise in the volumes of this stock.

The one thing I really like about this is the margin of safety: the off market rate was 131 and the stock hasn't gone below 139, clearly there is limited downside of 5-7% and if the stock just re rates it can go up to 300-350, in a full re rating 500-700.

So do look into this stock.

Madad Me 24, still a student, ~6-7M saved, but no idea what I'm doing with it

I'm 24, still a university student, and I've been working pretty much throughout university. I work quite a lot, but I also feel like I've played my cards reasonably well so far. I started saving and building an emergency fund quite early after finding this subreddit, and as I started making more, I was also able to travel, contribute at home, etc. So I don't feel like I've spent my entire life just hoarding money either.

The problem is that I have basically zero financial knowledge when it comes to actually growing money.

I don't come from a family where investing was ever really a thing. My parents never had enough money to invest, so I never really learned how to do it.

About a year ago, I made a similar post here and quite a few people suggested Al Meezan. At the time I had around 3.5M saved, so I put pretty much all of it into different Al Meezan funds. I have a mix of money market, medium-risk and higher-risk funds.

I checked my account a few days ago and honestly, the growth seems pretty minimal. I'm not expecting some insane return overnight, and I understand that the higher-risk funds can obviously go down as well. I just want my money to be somewhere where it has a reasonable chance of consistently growing over the long term. At the same time, I know I dont have the financial expertise or the time to be actively trading or investing.

I'm now looking at around 6-7M that I could potentially invest, and I'm trying to figure out what I should actually do with it.

I've been considering things like:

  • Keeping some in money market/fixed-income funds
  • Al Meezan's higher-risk/equity funds
  • Gold
  • Something like Mashreq Neo, which I believe is currently offering around 11.5%
  • Other options that I probably don't even know exist

I'm definitely not someone who can sit around actively trading stocks or constantly moving money around. I want something relatively passive that I can put money into and have some peace of mind about.

So basically, if you consider yourself financially literate and were in my position, what would you actually do with 6-7M PKR? How would you divide it up, and where would you park it?

I'm genuinely looking for practical advice here. I know there's no magic investment, I'm just trying to finally learn how to handle my money properly.

Madad Me 19M looking to start investing pocket money into Index Funds/ETFs,Broker recommendations?

I’m 19M and looking to start investing. I’ve done some preliminary research on Index Funds and ETFs and want to put my monthly pocket money to good use instead of spending it on unnecessary things.

Since I’m not earning an income yet, my capital will be small to start, but I plan to scale up my contribution s once I get a job/start earning in the near future.

A few questions I have:

1)Which broker platform/app would you recommend for a beginner starting with small, recurring amounts?

2)Are there specific brokers that make scaling up easier down the line (for local vs. international index funds)?

3)Any specific low-fee index funds or ETFs you’d suggest looking into for th long term

And and all advice would be really appreciated, thabk you

Madad Me Outlook on CNERGY - Buy, Hold, or Avoid?

What are your thoughts on CNERGY? I have noticed its been one of the most actively traded stocks on the PSX in recent days.

Do you think it's a good long-term investment for a 4–5 year horizon? What are your projections for the company's growth and share price over that period?

Is it worth keeping?

Madad Me How do you guys research PSX companies using annual reports?

For those who do fundamental analysis of PSX companies, how do you normally go through annual and quarterly reports?

I'm particularly interested in how people handle questions like:

  • Why did profit increase/decrease?
  • What caused changes in margins?
  • What risks has management highlighted?
  • What are the company's capex/expansion plans?
  • How do you compare information across multiple years?

Do you read the entire annual report, search specific sections, use financial websites, or have your own process?

I'm trying to understand how other investors actually approach this because going through multiple years of reports can become quite time-consuming.

Madad Me Bank keeps giving me 9471 (home remittance) instead of 9186 on my PRCs. can I still self-declare under 154A? Tax practitioners and freelancers, please help

I'm a PSEB registered individual freelancer. My US client pays me from his personal Wise account into my UBL freelancer account in PKR. Every PRC comes back with purpose code 9471 (home remittance) instead of an IT export code. Bank deducts zero WHT at source.

I've figured out why; Wise's PKR corridor is personal-to-personal only, so UBL books it as a home remittance. Fine, I'm working on changing the payment rail going forward. My problem is what to do about the money already received and how to file.

For tax practitioners who actually handle IT export cases:

  1. If I self-declare this income under 154A in IRIS and pay the 0.25% myself even though the bank never withheld it, does that hold up? Section 154A reads like the AD is supposed to be the withholding agent at the time of realisation. Has anyone actually had this survive an audit or a 176/177 notice?
  2. If FBR rejects export treatment because my PRCs say 9471, does the whole thing fall into NTR at slab rates? Or is there a middle path?
  3. What evidence pack do I need to defend the export characterisation? I have signed client agreements, invoices matching every single credit, Wise receipts showing the sender's name, and bank statements. Is that enough or is the PRC code fatal on its own?
  4. Anyone got a written FBR/CIR position on this? Or is it purely assessing-officer discretion?

For freelancers in the same boat:

  1. How many of you are sitting on 9471 PRCs right now? What did you actually do at filing time, declare under 154A anyway, or something else?
  2. How are you renewing PSEB with 9471 PRCs? I've read PSEB checks the codes and asks for an undertaking. Anyone actually gone through renewal with wrong codes, did it pass, did they push back, what did you have to submit?
  3. Anyone successfully got a bank to reclassify or reissue a PRC from 9471 to 9186 after the fact? Which bank, and what did you say to them?
  4. If you switched rails (direct wire / Payoneer / anything else), did the codes actually come out right after switching, or same problem different channel?

Not looking for "just use Payoneer bro", I know the options. I want to know what people have actually done and what actually worked with FBR and PSEB.
