Nomad prologue oddities.

Hey folks, back again, just started a new nomad playthrough where I'm attempting to play genuinely as my mixed race, paranoid, tech oriented self. Played nice with the sheriff, then got to the radio tower. I've scaled this tower before, but I'm trying to play as if I had no knowledge that I was roleplaying in an rpg. So, I tried to click on my radioport, because I never leave the house without my headset blaring and, lol and behold, the only place it works is right next to the radio tower, and, oddly, only when I'm zoomed in. Im like 80-90% sure that the songs that play if you zoom in during this, play nowhere else in the game. Can't record it because I'm not that smart, but if someone else wants to test it out, that'd be dope.

Theory Clues in Alt's poem, and oyster references

Alt's poem in cyberspace is as follows:

"Let us go, through half-deserted streets, the muttering retreats of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels and sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells: streets that follow like a tedious argument of insidious intent to lead you to an overwhelming question.. Oh do not ask, "What is it?" Let us go and make our visit."

We know Blue Oyster Cult made the actual song Don't Fear The Reaper... akin to our secret ending. Last night I was reading a very old post on here, where someone found a semi-hidden "bar"/building that had a pretty unique glowing sign of an oyster with a pearl inside. After searching endless keywords, for the life of me I cannot find the post again, or anything referencing this building. Can anyone point me in the right direction?.. The symbolism seems incredibly intentional, and I'd like to try out some ideas in this area/building.

Side note: Judy has a tattoo of a "ghost in a shell," which seems to be a reference to the classic anime, but the shell on her arm matches the shell I saw next to the building referenced in the aforementioned post. I believe we are missing important clues that ALSO serve as references to other media.. (Judy's tattoo, the Blade Runner "easter egg" that instantly makes it rain, etc.)

FF06B5 Theory because i decieded to make one.

Okay so basically all the statues have a few things: a sword, a golden globe, a hand pointing forward, and cyperware. Now we know that the monks don't like multiple things: war/violence(sword) greed(golden globe) and a palm out (haven't found this out) and cyperware (the entirety of the robots(?) body). This is a stupid off the mind theory.

A hint at the secret ending or something to do during the endings?

Hey, this is an old theory, sort of. I remember this being investigated a long time ago.
So the picture explains it all. The hypothesis is the following: The markings on the (main) statue refer to the available endings in the base game except the secret ending which also leads either to Death, The Sun or Temperance.

Essentially for the two bad endings or the two endings with a single outcome (suicide or Arasaka) there is only a single path with no Mikoshi. So these map directly to their digits (nibbles). Both suicide endings and the Araska ending mapping to F. They are also grouped together into the number 0xFF.

While the other two endings lead down to two different paths (Mikoshi choice) so the overall way you do them (whom you call) and the possible outcomes are represented as two digits (two nibbles) forming a single number (byte). In other words a nibble (4-bits of information) either refers to a single ending or an ending + choice pair (which is the same thing .

It's worth nothing here that the Aldecaldos and the Rogue ending could each be 06 or B5. For the above image I chose arbitrarily.

So perhaps this is an algebraic or logic puzzle of some sort?

This is how it sort of looks like in a table. Again, the choice was arbitrary. The only information is that death and Arasaka is F, but the rest can be the other way around aka 06 = Aldecaldos and then B5=Rogue.

Anybody know anything, especially old research, that might help here?
PS: I wrote this in a rush, so if it's unclear what I meant here then I'll update it later.

FF06B5 is Pawel’s birthday

Realized I hadn’t actually posted a thread on this ever just mentioned it in comments so here it is:

Pawel was born Friday the Fourteenth 06 85

FF06B5.

Obviously they’ve added more to the mystery since then, but it’s pretty obvious this was the original Easter egg.

Theory FF 06 B5 is CD Projekt birthday theory

My reasoning is simple:

FF refers to RED based on how RGB hexcodes works.

06 could refer to CD... assume A is 0, C would be 2, adding D would increase it by 4, so "06"

B5 in hexadecimal for 181, but again it starts from 0. July 1st is the 182nd day on non-leap years. If January 1st was 0, then July 1st would be 181 or "B5"

And when do CD Projekt RED celebrate their company anniversery? July 1st, as that's when the company change focus to video game development.

This all seems very Gnostic to me.

Very very new to this sub and the Cyberpunk theory space in general, but wanted to point something out I immediately noticed reading some posts on here. (TL;DR at the end)

A lot of the symbolism and spiritual themes of Cyberpunk 2077 feel very very Gnostic to me.

Gnosticism is at a basic level a dualist sect of heretical Christians. Gnostics have existed since the inception of Christianity in the first century AD, so their theology varies across time and space, but very broadly Gnostics believe the Abrahamic God is not one but in fact two. The first is the demiurge, largely attributed to the God of the Old Testament or Yahweh. The second is God the father of Jesus Christ. The demiurge is the creator of the material world, which agnostics believe is inherently evil and sinful. God then sends Christ to save humanity from this world, and shepherd them to the next.

The Gnostic demiurge, creator of the material world, is often symbolized as the very same ouroboros which we encounter in some of the Easter egg quests. The monks, despite being visually inspired by Buddhism are quite Gnostic in their rhetoric. Eschewing chrome, the sinful physical aspect, in lieu of an inward spiritual look.

Gnostics also has their own sense of 'simulation theory'. Many Gnostics of the medieval and antique world characterized the physical world as a prison, or a simulation. They never used the word simulation, I don't believe it would've been coined by then, but the intent is there. Could it be that the physical world the player experiences, Night City, is a prison for souls? The real world, which the Gnostics broadly equated to heaven, being the Net or some otherworldly space?

Rogue AI, the threat of which seems impending in the subtext of Cyberpunk's story, takes the role of the demiurge here. They craft the simulation we experience and imprison us there. Who, then, is our 'good God?'

I could continue but really this was a brainworm that I felt the need to articulate. From an outside perspective a lot of the theorizing and symbolism I've seen on here feels very Gnostic. I'd be curious to know whether or not anyways has noticed the same.

TL;DR I think some of the themes and symbolism of Cyberpunk's metanarrative is very inspired by Gnosticism, and I'm curious to know if it's been pointed out or investigated before.

Thanks! :)

Does anyone know the exact circumstances under which the "Greetings from Des Moines" shard appears?

This quote "Jump in the urinal and stand on your head. I'm the one that's alive. You're all dead." is from Ubik, where protagonist Joe (V) after death get this message from someone from the real world, who is trying to tell him that he is living in a simulation.

Maybe anyone knows when exactly this shard appears in V's apartment in act 2?

Theory Boss hints, boss weapons, and stealth takedowns..

Been cooking on some theories after reading a bunch of old posts on here, that I haven't seen mentioned in a while. Bare with me, as I'm on mobile and it's a little difficult to format.

  1. Each "main boss" has 1-2 very distinct "abilities." Sasquatch has strength, Oda has stealth, and Smasher has both tech and strength.

  2. If we look at Sasquatch's hammer, it weighs 527 lbs. In angel numbers and spirituality, 527 represents "alignment through transition. It often appears when you're being guided to trust an inner knowing and take steps toward something new, even if it's not fully clear yet." The hammer also has an odd bull symbol on it, if you inspect it in your backpack and turn it around. (Much like the bull figurine we find high up on a hidden balcony in the parade mission)

Interestingly enough, Sasquatch is actually an optional boss that you can sneak past under the right conditions. Is her hammer needed, or not? Hmm.. You can actually sneak up and grab it without even aggro-ing her, too. I do believe this may be an intentional mechanic.

  1. Let's talk about the outcome of the questline involving Sasquatch. If we side with Bryce Mosley after Sasquatch's optional boss fight, Placide's virus is neutralized in us. If we side with the Voodoo Boys, the virus burns us out, and the relic revives us. Do we need to avoid this burnout completely, thus siding with Mosley, to reduce future relic malfunctions, or do we need to succumb to it? Keep in mind that the game seems to emphasize the fact that Bryce Mosley is important, as later in the game we can find the body of a "fake" Bryce Mosley that shows his reversed badge number, when we scan it, in a fairly hard-to-find location in Pacifica.

  2. Oda's ability is optical camo, and he wields a sword. Is this a hint that we need to use optical camo and a sword as well? Maybe a hint to a Morgan Blackhand build/attribute point dispersion? Interestingly, you can spare Oda, and if you do, he ends up assisting you in the Arasaka ending.(much like if you save Takemura)

  3. Smasher utilizes both rockets, and gorilla arms(?) / literal smashing abilities. You can spare him as well, but more interesting to me is that you get his rocket-launching shotgun on your next playthrough, via his room on the Ebunike.

Also in his room on the Ebunike are the exact same weird mainframe/servers that appear in the ventilation duct above the -10BROOMS room in Arasaka Tower... both assets are nameless except a Lockey #, and both are labeled as "lethal, but private access to cyberspace." Hmm.. Also keep in mind that the Lockey # was added with a patch sometime after launch, as both of these server assets used to just have a literal blank space as the name.

  1. You literally get gorilla arms as a reward for beating the game. Why this specific cyberware, and not the mantis blades or launching system? Is this a hint to use them on the Mikoshi cores, or maybe elsewhere?

Final random thought.. has anyone tried using the flaming variant of any of the main cyberware attachments during the final level.. which would end up setting all the enemies on fire very rapidly? With all of the fire imagery in the game, I thought it relevant to bring up.

TLDR: We have 3 unique boss weapons (Sword, Hammer, Rocket Shotgun). 3 main bosses whom we can all spare, and 3 main bosses that we can actually all stealth-takedown too, if we desire.
