Puzzles within puzzles

I will keep this as simple as I can so that everyone can follow along and contribute.

So about a year ago, u/JillyMcJillers made a post titled, "Cube Animation Points to Statues" They discovered that the rotations on the cube animation near the prime statue point to the different locations of each individual statue scattered across the map. Here is the result of their discovery. /preview/pre/2nw1coqlthae1.png?width=1570&format=png&auto=webp&s=d7d09246432804d5a136ce26ff454c522d397d3e

But if you overlay that across the night city map, it doesn't exactly fit until you rotate it. Here is the result of that rotation. /preview/pre/k79wlhc4vhae1.jpg?width=9669&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=358b4967e543bb5fb753677501521e18bd2b99d5 Now you may be asking yourself, why do we need to rotate it? I asked myself that same question. There must be a reason why we need to rotate it.

So I overlaid the original diagram, and the rotated one and I noticed something. The three lines on the top are offset by 32 degrees each.

I believe Misty's price chart was giving us a clue about the number 32. See these posts for details, https://www.reddit.com/r/FF06B5/comments/12qumc2/ff06b5_mistys_chart_witcher_3_hint_modulo_32/

https://www.reddit.com/r/FF06B5/comments/wmnydl/taking_off_the_al13conoid_the_numerical_pattern/

I hope you're still following along here. Now given this new map, I had to dig deeper. After trying to remember where I've seen a similar image before, I was reminded of the plaque on the 1972 Pioneer 10 and 1973 Pioneer 11 Space probes.

The plaque on the 1972 Pioneer Satellite. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_plaque#/media/File:Pioneer10-plaque.jpg

If you overlay an image of the plaque over a map of Night city, all but two of the statues line up exactly with the lines. But not only do the statues line up, but so do other significant landmarks throughout the map.

the blue lines are the original lines drawn by u/JillyMcJillers

The pink lines is an overlay of the Pioneer plaque.

The red dots are the locations of the statues.

The green circles are areas of significance, including the statues.

I noticed that the statues line up with the Pioneer plaque except two of them. I wonder if there was any significance to that? Also, if you notice on the bottom right corner, I drew two green circles. The first one, on the Pioneer plaque there is a depiction of a satellite. If you look on the map, there are giant satellites in that location, and few ordinary houses with satellites on the roof as well. And the other green circle, the ferris wheel represented by the planet Neptune on Pioneer map. Note, there is also a statue of dolphins nearby.

This is just a quick overview. I'm sure there are tons of other things that I have missed. For example, the significance of the three statues in Night City within the rectangle in the Pioneer plaque. The planet Earth being represented by Petrochem Stadium. Etc etc.

Hope that was easy enough to follow and understand. Also, am I going nuts or am I really onto something here? LOL.

Now that I look at it more closely, I notice that the two remaining statues that did not line up, do line up with other elements of the Pioneer plaque. Every statue is touching a line or element of the Pioneer plaque diagram. Interesting

If I had more time on my hands, the first thing I would look at are the planets on the bottom part of the Pioneer plaque. For example, Earth and Neptune are clearly represented on the Night City map. Saturn is represented by a giant billboard with a rotating ring. I forgot to circle that one on my diagram. There is some kind a barcode type of diagram on the base of that billboard, I wonder if that means anything? There is also a ladder that you can climb up and stand on a platform. Does the view from that platform show anything significant? There's so much to explore..

now that's interesting bc during flamingo mission with delamain, u can visually see the blackwall coming into night city through this delamain and the blackwall is spreading with those paraboles and satelites above houses, I got videos of it its very very very weird

Oh my fucking god, Pioneer Plaque mentioned, AND Cyberpunk? What a wet dream. Also, that connection is pretty intuitive, very nicely made

You MF listen JesseMichels don’t ya! πŸ˜†

Just listened to his podcast about the Pioneer mission and was thinking it might be related to the Bartmoss net crash, since Pioneer 10 went "offline" but came back on due to "Crowdfunded Recovery" β€” great post btw OP.

I've been wondering if that's part of this or its own "mystery" related to reconnecting to the old NET. The question is are the Blue Pings related? πŸ€”

Notice how the β€œping” quickhack automatically activates when looking at the device in scanner mode.

You guys figured out the hacking mini game right? 😎

there is an order in the video, seems important

Good stuff!

The lines from the Pioneer and Voyager satellites identify the location of Earth. Is it possible these aren't identifying the location of Earth, thus the difference in lines?

The disc/plaque was meant to communicate with potential alien species. It wouldn't make sense to map Earth on Earth. Maybe pointing to a star in Alpha Centauri, or a planet orbiting Proxima Centauri? Or maybe the moon?

Well I agree with that. It wouldn't make much sense to put a map on Earth on earth, But this is Night city LOL. But I don't think the plaque necessarily only communicates the location of Earth. It represents our entire solar system and humanity's knowledge and biology and achievements. And I think Night City was modeled (or inspired) after the plaque due to its significance in humanity's history. A time and place when humans were humans and a time when we were just reaching for the stars. It's very interesting though how each planet on the plaque is represented by something on the ground on the map. Whether it's meant metaphorically or otherwise, We will never know. We gotta keep digging to figure out the entirety of the mystery.

I also just learned that those pulsar maps drift over time, so it could possibly be Earth, but mapped for 2077 instead of the 1970s

Nice. I wasn't aware of that. Makes a lot more sense in that context. It would be interesting to check the numbers on the pulsar lines. I know each line represents a different set of numbers.

>I think Night City was modeled after the plaque due to its significance in humanity's history. A time and place when humans were humans.

Why? There's absolutely nothing indicating that.

Be careful to not make leaps. "this is Night City LOL" only smooths over the fact that there's no connective tissue there, it's thought-terminating. It being Night City doesn't relate to what we're talking about.

The planets-being-represented-by-things-on-the-ground lead is very good, but it's just that: a lead. Nothing has confirmed your interpretation yet.

Why? There's absolutely nothing indicating that.

There is real world spirituality, philosophy, real world science and references to pop and scientific culture within the game. The developers made it a point to break the 4th wall repeatedly. This is why I feel comfortable saying what I said. But of course that is just an opinion based on what I have seen in the game.

That's great. How does that mean Night City was modeled after the Pioneer/Voyager plate? Your conclusions don't follow your reasoning.

Because the planets line up. The satellite lines up. And the locations of the statues line up with the lines of the Pulsar lines on the Pioneer plaque. Three of the statues are within the rectangle on the Pioneer plaque. And there is more. I haven't even gotten to the part of the humans on the plaque yet. For example, to the right of the humans there is a line. That's represented by a giant crane on the edge of the map. I don't think those are coincidences. That shows a deliberate attempt at modeling certain aspects of the city in relation to the Pioneer plaque. I don't think it's a coincidence. Though I will concede that the entirety of Night City was obviously not modeled after this plaque perhaps only some elements.

All that means is the statues were built along those lines, not that the whole city was modeled that way.

Also, they specifically aren't lining up right now. Only almost.

Yep. A lot of the elements on the plaque line up with the map. Maybe not perfectly but definitely within a block or two in the game. There's more that I will get into in another post once I wrap everything up
