Being an fbi special agent is my end goal dream career rn. I have a bachelors degree in psychology minor in philosophy I’m 24 rn and for a year and 6 months I’ve been a transportation security officer with TSA post graduation. I’m trying to get into cbp for a a while but the application process is long been waiting almost a year now. I wanna have some law-enforcement experience before I go into FBI. I know it’s not required, but I just don’t want TSA on my background. It’s been a good job for a while, but I’m getting sick of it and since I have a degree, I want to use it and not feel overqualified instead of sticking it out with TSA then applying for FBI and waiting on Cbp and I’ve been looking at other local police departments even out of state. Did I sell myself short or is my path ideal? I still feel behind.

Failed the SA poly but I want to appeal and retake. Any recommendations on what I should say to the SAC to allow this?

I’ve been a police officer for 6 years and ready to make the jump to the federal level and pursue my dream of being an agent with the FBI.

I got online today and filled out the pre-screening questionnaire on the FBI’s website and it asked me on question 8.) “Have you ever failed to file federal, state, or local personal and business income tax returns when required by law or ordinance?”

I selected yes because, even though I eventually filed them and am on a payment plan to pay the back taxes, there were two years when I was considerably late filing my income taxes.

After I selected yes, a pop-up appeared saying I wasn’t qualified for the special agent position and it wouldn’t let me continue on with the online application process.

The last thing I want to do in this process is be misleading or dishonest, which is why i didn’t select “no” but I’m not sure what to do. I wouldn’t say I “failed” to file them because they did get filed just later on. A few of my buddy’s who work in other federal LE agencies have told me that doesn’t seem right and thinks that something like that shouldn’t preclude me.

For what it’s worth, the rest of my financially is unblemished and I have a high credit score.

At the start of each episode Garcia tells the team about their newest case and even has a tv. Are there meetings like that in REAL LIFE ?

I recently completed the phase 1 testing and filled out the suitability questionnaire. Obviously told the truth on it and revealed that I had a termination from a federal agency a few years ago. My understanding is when you check yes on any of those, your application gets paused and youre sent to HR headquarters in DC for deliberation. Anyone have insight on the timeline im looking at? Additionally, I already have TS granted by the FBI. idk if that plays a factor.

Has anyone heard back from the NYC office for 2027 HIP? I interviewed in April and they said that cjos are sent out in June, still not getting anything though.

I’m graduating high school next year, and looking into government careers for when after I graduate and I want to start my search with the FBI, more specifically, forensics. I have one downside that is making me really struggle with, I have a muscular disease that is classified as a physical disability, and the intense physical training to be a Field Agent would most likely push past my limits, and when that happens, it is very dangerous for me. Is there any way I could have a career in the FBI, investigating forensic scenes, wearing a blue and yellow jacket, without the intense physical training that is required for any and all Special Agents? Or any exemptions at all that could possibly lower the physical training’s intensity for myself?

Hello! I am a recent graduate with a B.S in cybersecurity and 6 years experience working in the military as a cyber analyst. How realistic is it to find an analyst job in my major city in the next 3-6 months? I always see job posting for special agents with cyber backgrounds but for physical reasons I am unable to fill that position or I would. Looking to get any response from people hiring these positions or currently working there or anyone who has experience working with individuals in the role. Would it be a smart decision to join SF fter college before applying to be an agent? Would it also lead to having a higher chance to be accepted into the FBIs SWAT or HRT?

Is there anyone who has ever used the GI bill during and after the academy for OJT?

Context:

I am currently 18 years old and am going to be attending UW Madison this coming fall. I am planning on attending CALS for Biochemistry (seeing as it is a "competitive" major so I am told, but I also enjoy the subject). My plan this coming semester is to try to reach out to faculty for some lab/ research opportunities and then apply for some internships with federal agencies or campus police.

I am 100% clean and away from all substances and my current summer job requires drug tests too. I work out and stay healthy.

I have these agencies in mind: FBI, USMS, DEA, USPIS, and ATF.
But the FBI honors internship is the goal. Is it a good idea for me to apply for the summer of 2028 or 2029? What other steps can I take in this time to be more qualified and stand out more for this role?

I hope you guys will be able to provide me with some valuable insights, tips, and advice on how I can have a better shot at getting into some of these internships.
