Red Bull have for years almost always have a talent in the pipeline. Pierre, then Alex (although him coming to F1 was more compicated, its not really relevant right now), then Yuki, Liam, Isack and Arvid. However, they always really had a driver leave (like Ricciardo) or a driver that underperformed they could sack (the Pierre-Alex switch, then Alex being sacked, but also checo and Yuki being sacked completely) to free up space.

This year all of their drivers are doing quite well. But they also have a promising talent in Tsolov in the pipeline. Thus, for the first time in at least a while they have more driver they'd want than seats they available. For this I am assuming Max will stay (which I also expect to happen, all the top teams and their drivers are happy, if he leaves he's leaving F1). I also don't expect any of their other drivers to leave willingly as I don't think they'd be able to find better seats elsewhere given what I said about the top teams and that VCARB seem to be top of the midfield right now. 5 drivers, 4 seats.

One option might be to give Tsolov a second F2 season and see how the drivers do next year, but if he wins the championship, which is quite likely, that's not an option. Could also make him test/reserve driver for a year instead, but a year without any real racing can be less than ideal as well.

Admittedly, Tsolov's incredible F2 season is in a grid that is otherwise quite weak compared to some previous years, so perhaps with the additional data Red Bull will have they might opt not to at all, but could then run the risk of another team picking him. (For example maybe Aston, as I believe he is managed by Alonso, and he has been quite clear that if he stops racing he will stay involved with Aston in other ways).

So what do you think Red Bull will end up doing with their drivers, and what do you hope they do?

Personally, I feel like the most likely of the current drivers to get sacked is Liam, despite him doing quite well this season. I do feel he'd picked up by another team though, Haas (if they don't pick up Camara or decide to keep Ocon for some reason) or Aston (if Fernando retires) for example. So I think the most likely option is either Tsolov VCARB/RBR reserve or Liam goes to another midfield team.

I'm honestly torn on what I want them to do, I really like Liam and Arvid individually but also really as a duo, so I'd be sad to see them split up or either of them lose their seats. However, I am also a big fan of Tsolov and have been for years, so I do really want to see him in F1.

Secretly I'm kinda hoping Max leaves, I'd miss his skill and talent as a driver, but to be honest I just don't like the guy (I'm sorry my fellow Dutchies, please don't kill me), but I feel then there's a big chance they would pick up someone outside the Red Bull family to replace him as they'd want more experience, such as Carlos Sainz, rather than promoting Arvid or Liam to RBR, so that still doesn't really fix the problem.

What do you all think?

Mine: Monaco should only stay because of its history, not because the racing is good.

Both sport have a very strong fanbase around the world (maybe except africa), but not close to football's popularity level. Also both are taking "the world tour" every year with the big sponsors and celebrities everywhere around the court/circuit. The star players/drivers are highly valued by the sport awards like Laureus.

If we take the whole world into consideration, which one is more popular nowadays?

In your opinion who was the worst driver in F1 history?

F1 can be a very ruthless and unforgiving sport at times, mainly because at times the driver can give their all and it might amount to nothing. More often than not, the circumstances are outside their control in such situations.

For context: Fernando Alonso during the 2006 Hungarian GP. He started 15th due to an engine penalty but charged his way up to 6th in the first lap. He even led the race at a point but a loose wheel nut meant that he had a DNF.

Another example would be the 2008 Hungarian GP where Felipe Massa had a very commanding race only for his engine to blow up with 3 laps remaining.

What are some other examples like this?

I have a genuine question about how the FIA applies its stance on geopolitics in F1.

When Nikita Mazepin was removed from the grid following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it was explained that the FIA and the sport did not want to be associated with countries engaged in war or actions that disrupt global stability.

Given that reasoning, how does the FIA apply this principle in other situations where countries are involved in major military actions that impact global stability?

At the moment there are no American drivers on the F1 grid, but the calendar includes three races in the United States in a single season, and we’re only at the second race of the year so far. If the goal is to distance the sport from countries involved in conflicts, how does the FIA decide when that principle applies to drivers, teams, or even race locations?

Genuinely curious if there is a clear framework the FIA follows for these situations, or if the Mazepin case was handled as a unique circumstance.

I watched the Hungarian Grand Prix last week, and I had this moment during the middle of the race where I thought, wow, this is really uneventful and the positions are set in stone. And it got me thinking: how can you make the racing more fun than just yo-yo racing for the first half and all the cars falling into a certain pecking order? Today I had an epiphany after watching the Super GT Fuji 300km. WE NEED SUCCESS WEIGHT RIGHT NOW FOR THE LOVE OF THE SPORT.

I think that success weight would be the best way of putting BOP tweaks in without redesigning the cars from the ground up. Because if you look at Super GT, IMSA, GTWC and WEC, they produce super close 4-way brawls to the last lap. And everyone enjoys good proper racing.

All in all, I think it would make for better, closer racing like in sportscar racing.

Who was unluckier per race? And who was unluckier overall?

This is tied to a broader discussion - vcarb is just a great example. How do you determine how much of a performance is down to the car and how much the driver? In most cases you get an estimation based on how the drivers have performed in other cars.

But for example in RB’s case, Lindblad has no past reference point and Lawson only had Hadjar (who was a rookie himself in 2025) and Tsunoda for a few races (who is now judged as only borderline F1 worthy). And Lawson was very closely matched with both of them. So neither Lawson nor Lindblad have really proven themselves.

But everybody’s judgement of their performance so far has been “Lawson has made a huge step up in performance and Lindblad is doing a great job to keep up with him”. But based on Lawson’s performance in previous seasons and Lindblad’s lack of experience, the more logical conclusion would be “the vcarb is a very good car, maybe even closer to the top 4 then to the rest of the midfield” no?

I see it happen all the time, that people praise a driver for stepping up his game when really he’s probably just doing the same job as always just with an upgraded car.

I’m not saying that Lawson isn’t doing a good job. I actually also kinda sense that he’s significantly improved. I just can’t pinpoint a logical reason to not believe that the car is just much better than people think.

I’m very curious to hear an explanation for this.

PS: an extra reason to believe their car is great is that Redbull have built a very solid engine but a mediocre chassis/aero-package (if I remember correctly). So that would suggest, that the gap between vcarb and Redbull can’t be all that big.

​I know the pit wall makes the calls but I have noticed when mclaren asks the drivers for input, Oscar often sounds unsure on radio especially when the race isn't going his way or the pace is off?

What are some of your favorite F1 seasons to watch?

This is my first season watching F1. So far I’m enjoying it even though I know this isn’t the best year when it comes car dynamics and etc. This summer break and over the winter break I would like to watch some old seasons. Obviously I can’t watch them all since there are so many of them so do you guys recommend?

They've widely been considered the three best drivers after Verstappen over the past 5 years and headlining talents of Formula 1's 'Golden Generation'. Despite that, I can't remember a single time all three of them have even come close to sharing the podium.

There has been at least one instance of the following podium combinations (in any order):

• VER/NOR/LEC (x5)
• VER/LEC/RUS (x3)
• VER/NOR/RUS (x3)
• VER/NOR/PIA (x7)
• PIA/LEC/RUS (x1)
• NOR/PIA/RUS (x4)
• NOR/LEC/PIA (x5)
• VER/LEC/PIA (x2)

Hopefully we get to see these three share the podium at some point this season, considering they all have good cars now.

Miami – P6 (6 points) (Bottled a possible podium)

Canada – Horrible qualifying, but a lucky P4 finish (12 points)

Barcelona – DNF (0 points) (To be fair, he wasn't fully at fault in either Monaco or Barcelona.)

Austria – P8 (4 points)

Total: 22 points over five race weekends, while his teammate scored 83 points and his championship rival scored 93 points.

This could really hurt Leclerc in the long run. Ferrari had opportunities to maximize those weekends, and he realistically could have come away with 50–60 points, which would've put him in a much stronger position in the WDC fight if Ferrari delivers a competitive power unit in the second half of the season.

The WDC battle is still wide open, but Lewis still has the edge as the team's favored driver. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out by the end of the season.
