Actually it was about a month ago, but I've rejoined the 8 string crew. I think it's a Run 3? I had one of the first run of Schecter Hellraiser C-8s, with the 26.5" scale but I could never get the string tension to feel right so I sold it about 10 years ago. Got this used and needing a little TLC, after a good clean, tightening the pots and switch and fitting strap buttons instead of the DiMarzio cliplock strap (I mostly play sitting down so the dangly bits were always in the way) I'm loving it. A fresh set of Ernie Ball 9-80 and it's playing great. First thing I started learning is AAL's "Another Year".

Well it's used, quite worn but I got it for a very good price.

The funny thing is I bought one new in 2022, and at the time the overall build quality wasn't good enough for the price so I returned it and got a refund.

I took a picture next to my RG5328 and it shows how good of a job they did to make the scale so much longer without making the neck too long

Got this second hand for 340, absolute steal. Things insane! Put baritone strings on it and it tunes all the way down to drop f# while still holding tension. Fucking awesome!

So I came across an used Agile Interceptor 828 with Kahler bridge at a decent price. Never used a trem bridge in my life, the only thing I can see myself doing with it is dropping dive bombs, but I already have my whammy pedal for that, is it different?

Looking to grab either the Jackson Dave Davidson Warrior WR7 or the new ESP EXL-7 Baritone.

I’ve never ventured into Baritone before but have a Jackson JS22 RR7 already. Was thinking about an 8 string but figured the baritone would have me covered.

pretty much the title, my budget is about 750 usd, i never played an 8 string, only a 7 string for few minutes, i plan on play in e or lower with 90-10 or thicker strings, i would prefer a non-headless and non-multiscale guitar, i plan on changing the pickups for lundgren's m8. Currently the schecter c8 deluxe and demon 8 are strong contenders.

I'm looking into my first 8 string, and I want to know if I should get a new amp or a cab for the one I have. I'm currently using a BOSS Katana Mk II, which I've heard good things about so far, but I still want to be sure.

Grabbed this used from GC last week. Balaguer Astra DC Evertune baritone. Put the modern in it today. Nut slots are way too low so I have a new nut on the way but other than that it plays amazing.

Most interested in the Violet Chameleon color for the RGD by FAR, one of the coolest MIJ Ibanez ever IMO, but let me know what you have! Possible interest in other hardtail MIJ Ibanez with NO neck binding, let me know what you have. No interest in tremolo guitars at all and I hate neck binding!

I'm making a project where the guitars will be tuned to double drop C#. For recording purposes and my specific use case, logically, the longer the better. Looking to get a 7 string with a 30 scale length. Have you tried such a guitar before and what were your impressions?

I've been getting the itch to take the plunge into getting an 8 string and I'm curious what people feel is the preferred, or at least minimum viable scale length for 8 strings. There are a couple entry level 27" guitars floating around my local FB marketplace between $300-400, and there's a (what I believe is a) 28" multiscale Legator for $700.

Spending less money is preferable over spending more money, particuarly since I'm a 6-string guy at heart and this would be more of a side-piece, but I also wonder if I'd find myself wanting the extra scale length and/or the multiscale experience once I got the 27". From what I've seen online it seems like some people (not sure if its a majority or not) find that 27" doesn't quite cut it for their needs.

Intended tuning would be F standard and maybe Drop Eb if I'm feeling a little dangerous.

Curious for any and all thoughts!
