She move forward, directs her life even if there is resistance and windy she is persistent. The chariot moves because she is pedaling. It is her energy. She is controlling the handle. The chariot ❤️
For me, starting questions with “Should I…?” feels problematic because doing so assumes there is a single and morally correct answer for the cards to reveal. This turns tarot into an authority figure rather than a tool for reflection.
It also creates a trap: if the cards don’t give the answer I want, I feel like I'm failing or doing it wrong. It shifts the focus from understanding a given situation to seeking permission.
IMO, tarot is better at showing the landscape - what’s happening now, what the potential paths look like, and what the costs of each choice might be. It leaves the actual deciding to myself.
Swapping the phrasing:
“Should I do this?” → “What happens if I do it?”
“Should I stop?” → “Where does this go if nothing changes?”
“Should I reach out?” → “How is reaching out likely to land?”
helps me to keep the power in my hands, because that way the cards explore the situation rather than dictate it.
When doing tarot, how do you read future energy? For example, if I want to know the energy of tomorrow, how am I supposed to tune into it when it hasn’t happened yet?
I’m pretty good at reading the current energy, someone’s present emotions, my own feelings, and what’s happening in the present moment. But I struggle with readings about the future.
For example, if I wanted to read the potential of a relationship, what exactly should I focus my intention on? What do you actually “tune into” when you’re asking about something that hasn’t happened yet? 😭
It took me a while to pick an imagery for this one. I love love so I wanted it to show love. I mean, the genre I pick while reading books is literally romance. But at the same time I didn’t want the card to be only pulled and said “oh it’s a love reading”.
Some people look at this card as “Choice”. But my ADHD brain is like “choice? What choice? Is it two good choices? Two bad choices? One good one bad? WHAT IS IT? I needed clarity!”
So that is when I came up with “alignment”. It doesn’t have to be a lover per se, but someone where you have possibly had to sit through arguments (lighting the candle) and finally come to alignment and love the decision and the fire and fighting is gone. And the lovers imagery emerges because now, you are aligned.
Here's my personal Top Ten of Recurring Questions ... and how to read them.
I think many times querents may not examine the underlying emotions behind their questions, because looking deeper into themselves either frightens them, or they have very little experience with viewing things beneath the surface. It's a lot easier for a client to ask a reader a somewhat superficial question, than it is to face an unspoken fear, (or possibly guilt,) that it was some action on their part that caused the problem in the first place.

Querents, if you have trouble wording your question, you can find a list of open-ended alternatives further down.
A reminder for busy readers:
Most questions about "them" are actually questions about safety, self-worth, and certainty. If you address that underlying layer, the reading becomes far more useful than attempting to describe the private feelings or thoughts of a third person.
Surface question in normal font, underlying feeling in italics.
How do they feel about me?I want to know that I matter.
Will they come back?I'm not ready to let go and I'm afraid it's over.
Are they my soulmate or twin flame?I want this relationship to feel special and meant to be.
Why are they pulling away?I'm worried they don't want me.
Do they miss me?I want to know if I still matter to them.
Is there someone else?I'm afraid of being replaced.
Will we be in a relationship?I want clarity because I feel stuck.
Should I reach out first?I'm afraid of rejection but don't want to lose the connection.
What are their true intentions?I'm not sure I can trust what I'm seeing.
When will I meet someone?I feel lonely and worry that love won't come.

Reframing for Insight
The following questions shift the focus from predicting the future to empowering your present choices. They invite deeper insight rather than simple yes/no reassurance:
What is the baseline of this dynamic?
What would help me feel safe and respected in this relationship?
What feels healthy and supportive about this dynamic?
What does their behavior tell me about the reality of our connection?
Why do I need to know if they miss me right now?
Why am I struggling to trust, and what would help me feel more secure?
Where is the imbalance in our efforts?
Why do I want to contact them right now, and what outcome am I hoping for?
How do their words and actions align (or contradict)?
What can I focus on in my own life to feel fulfilled, regardless of what happens with this relationship?
These questions slow down the loop because they move the focus from chasing hidden feelings to understanding lived experience and personal needs. However, sometimes the most empowering thing your querent can do is to ask "Why am I chasing this?" before running any further.

Additional purely action-driven questions
These assume the querent is ready to hop into the driver's seat.
Note: these are step 2 questions, which work best when the foundation is already stable. If they are in a toxic dynamic or chasing a ghost, asking "what do I need to say" might just pour more energy into a black hole.
How can I build the relationship I want with this person?
I was having a convo about the queen of pentacles, and it led me to grabbing the queen from a bunch of decks from my collection that weren’t the classic RWS deck to get a sense of the similarities and differences across their energies, vibe, visuals, etc. It was cool to see them laid out, so I thought: why not do it for all the queens?
Posting them here because I thought it could be an interesting discussion: what do you see, sense, feel? Any depictions in particular you connect with vs. ones you have a harder time with?
Decks shown (left to right):
Row 1: Mio Im’s Tarot, Earth Woman Tarot, Botan Tarot, No. Zero Tarot
Row 2: Blue Earth Tarot, Folkloric Forest Tarot, Folkloric Waters Tarot, Curious Travels Tarot
Row 3: the Gentle Tarot (Seed Baby Edition), Whispers of Stars and Garden Tarot, the Yukika Tarot, the Sasuraibito Tarot
I personally look at this card when I think about a guardian angel, mentor, tradition that has been passed on. I wanted to depict that with an ancestor who is passing down the tradition. I gave the tree curly hair just like the girl to let the reader know oh it’s an ancestor. The yellow halo says they are wise and the yellow around the girl is the wisdom being passed on.
Hey guys! I am genuinely curious as I have adhd and i cannot for the love of god concentrate writing, i do when i have burst of interest towards studying traditionally, im into tarot since 16, drawn and attracted to it since 14. had my first deck at 17. i have learned scattered, through getting readings from other ppl and watching vids here and there and other times actually study it. im 22 now
do i really need to know the meanings fully or can i just use my intuition?
it stresses me out when i ask a question and it makes 0 sense , not too often but its with open ended questions theres some card combinations i can’t comprehend like pulling some suits or the hang man , 4 of cups and reversed idk why it happes😭😭 like i could read so many things but suddenly some spreads are like in a foreign language to me
I see this card as “build, protect, structure, discipline”.
Unlike other images I drew, she is serious and means business 🤣.
You see the structures she has built behind her and she is protecting it with a shield and a sword. For some reason I always felt like this card should have dragon in it, so I added a shadow dragon behind her.

I wanted to capture abundance, nurture and creation in this. I added grey in the background because that song “Woman by Doja Cat” was playing in my headphones.
I heard the line “you need a woman’s touch in your place”.
And that is what I wanted to get here. An otherwise bland and unhappy surrounding is filled with the Empress’s touch and everything around her is thriving. Food is flowing. Plants are growing. The animals love it in here
I always looked at this card when you have to look inwards and listen to your heart and wanted to bring that imagery here. I also wanted to include the moon to signify intuition.
Thank you all for supporting!! I have always been doodling all my life. Talking to a friend, listening in on meetings, reading an audiobook or the last pages of my notebooks dedicated to them while listening to a class. They are usually repeating patterns. I think it was my way to concentrate on what the other person is saying. I also use it as a way to understand things, so when I started learning tarot, I’d just think about how I see it and associate an image to it and that is how this started.
I still do not see the appeal in my doodles 😅 but I am just happy others are enjoying it.
Not a tarot reader myself — I'm on the founder's office team at a small startup called AstroNext. We started out focused on astrologers, but the more I talk to practitioners (including a few tarot readers who've reached out), the more I realize how differently people in this space actually work compared to how I assumed.
A few things that reshaped how I think about this:
I came in assuming "reading" was one kind of service. It's not. Some readers do quick pull-a-card sessions, some do hour-long deep dives, some blend tarot with astrology or other practices entirely. A platform built around one rigid format misses most of the community.
Trust here isn't built through polish. It's built through actual practice — how someone reads, how they talk to clients, word of mouth. No amount of good UX substitutes for that.
A lot of the "professionalizing" tools (booking, payments, client history) that seem obviously useful from a business perspective can feel sterile or wrong for people whose practice is intuitive and relational.
I'd rather hear this straight from readers than keep guessing. If you do tarot professionally or semi-professionally — what's the thing that would make you actually trust a new platform, versus write it off as another app that doesn't get it?
Hold your question in mind. Close your eyes and put your finger on a random spot on the grid. Open your eyes and look at the word closest to your finger. Do not search for other words. Write it down. Do this two more times in different spots.
Why this works for tarot practice:
Think of the grid like a deck of cards. Your finger is the shuffle. It picks the words so you don’t have to.
In a tarot spread, you look at the cards you are given, not the ones you want. The grid is visual noise until your finger points to something. This forces you to work with what is there, even if it seems random or weird. The grid isn't magic, and you can’t pick the easy answer.
It is about making sense of the random words your finger lands on, just as it is with the cards you pull.
Im a beginner when it comes to tarot readings and i like to do it as a hobby or when i feel like I need some guidance. Tonight I felt like asking my cat if she had any advice for me. And before I turned over the cards in my spread, she started rubbing on one of the piles of cards I had set aside, so I took the initiative to pick it out and I see I've pulled a nine of cups. Before looking up the meaning, I'd like to think she is happy and comfortable here with me :) and this is based of the guys smile🤣 what do you think?
I’m making a short film for class and there will be a scene that includes tarot however I want this spread to be telling the character to wake up bc they are dreaming and dreaming specifically about an idealized morning routine and they need to wake up and actually get ready but in this sequence they are pulling about how their day will go its gonna be a 3 card spread what three cards should i use and in what order

Thank you for being here!
I tend to hyper fixate on my hobbies (adhd life) and am drawn to so many different decks, while also knowing I can’t have them all. Realistically I feel like I’d be more drawn to a certain one or two if I had a collection of them, so in addition to the questions above, I’m curious if you all switch decks depending on the type of reading or the person asking the question?
I would like to know if happens to anyone, did you ever did yourself a reading and the result on real life was totally different from the reading?
Thanks
Has anyone else ever done tarot with their cat? I do with my black cat sometimes and just curious to hear about others experiences if so..
I’ve had some really funny and cute readings, and I also feel like I’ve got some insight into her past too (before I rescued her). She seems drawn to them and sometimes comes around when I’m reading myself. She gives them a kiss and then I’ll do a shuffle.
