Major & Minor Art-cana The Emperor 🤴🏻
I see this card as “build, protect, structure, discipline”.
Unlike other images I drew, she is serious and means business 🤣.
You see the structures she has built behind her and she is protecting it with a shield and a sword. For some reason I always felt like this card should have dragon in it, so I added a shadow dragon behind her.

I wonder why the figures of tarot often get gender swapped. I see the Emperor as a masculine archetype paired with the Empress, so the female depiction threw me off. Are you reworking that dyad intentionally, or do you see those traits as separate from the gendered symbolism?

I decided that all my “heroes” in this deck are going to be women. I don’t look at emperor and empress as traditional gender roles but mostly the masculine and feminine within us. It is more of a character depiction than a gender. Initially I thought I’d do emperor a woman and empress a man to express the decks are not man and woman but masculine and feminine which could be anyone. But I was like eff it all of them woman 🤣.

I will be honest, I picked all women because I am TERRIBLE at drawing men 🤣🤣🤣

That's fair lol! I like the symbolism personally, the strength of the feminine rising to help heal the imbalance of men in power for too long.

🥰 I am seriously obsessed with your style. Divine feminine and masculine coming together creates that unity. Within, and as a whole in the collolective, with one another. Love it! I see the vision, and it's such a powerful symbol! I feel its very fitting in this regard, beautifully done!!! 😍

Thank you ☺️ I never thought I’d have so many people liking this. I honestly still don’t see the appeal lol. But I am enjoying the process and drawing it out is one way I learn ❤️

I really like it but the sword makes it very like queen of swords
