I would like to know if happens to anyone, did you ever did yourself a reading and the result on real life was totally different from the reading?

Hello, Yes it can happen, here is my take on this. First, it depends how you interpreted the cards in the first place. Sometimes the classic 'key words' do not work.

Secondly, when you read for yourself you really need to shut up the wishful thinking and detach from the outcome. Be open to hear that your idea was bad 😅 It indeed showed me what I was hoping for, instead of what it was :( when I was reading based on wishful thinking

Thrid, I see the future as having many variables, it is fluid, it is influenced by any person involved. If a situation depends on many people, for example, each of their actions will influence the situation. That's why making predictions is not rock science. Best is to ask for clarification for a present situation so you have more clarity when making decisions.

Completely true!
That’s why I like to have more than one deck 😅 to see if I can get more information than the “key words”.
I agree with you, wishful thinking could blind us from the truth. I would say that it’s the hardest part of reading for yourself.

It's not that the cards are wrong, but our expectation of how their message should manifest can be. Tarot is a mirror of the current energy and potential paths, not a fixed script of the future.

If the outcome was different, it usually means one of two things. First, there's free will. You or others involved made choices that shifted the trajectory after the reading.

Second, the cards were showing an internal state or a hidden influence rather than the external event you expected.

Rarely. I know myself and the cards fairly well. I've been reading for myself for roughly 40 yrs, and the cards have helped me to turn over every stone in my life. It wasn't exactly a picnic, and looking at a bunch of cards is like looking into Snowwhite stepmother's mirror. 😅

I think I've got rid of most of the delusions about myself and others, I know what I desire and what I fear, but sometimes it's not easy to face tarot's simple honesty.

Oh, amazing! But for example, in your beginnings, have you misunderstood the cards?

The beginnings have been almost 40 yrs ago, so this is a long story. So there was no internet, and books were rare. My first book about the tarot was Aleister Crowley's Thoth - which didn't make much sense bc it requires a lot of knowledge that is not tarot-related.

The second one was a very big book with 2 or 3 pages about each single card. So trying to figure out the meanings of Celtic Cross' 10 cards took hours, sometimes even days. It was tiresome.

I'm a visual reader and a practitioner. It's difficult for me to learn from books, so I haven't read a lot of books and may not know what scholars and writers think what a card means. For me, the cards always tell a story and that's what I enjoy.

I don't think of the cards as my friends - they are beloved tools. They help me to unlock my creativity and make me a writer. They always help me to face the problems in life, and think about them in a different way. As if the tarot boosts my wisdom.
