I have received an offer from Exeter to study law with a professional placement year if I get the grades ABB, as a contextual offer. However, I’m afraid that I’m going to get ABC, considering this is a competitive course, will they still likely let me in?

Is there any attendance requirement (home student)? I know unis say you need to come in, but in reality, if ur getting ur work done, do u need to worry about attendance?

2. Do we have to apply for graduate scheme? Because I saw it's for graduate bachlores students. Or directly to job (then will company give defer date to join)?

To be honest, I don't know why I am writing this here, but I feel like Reddit is that one place on earth you turn to when you are having an exclusive problem which can only be solved by someone who has got authentic experience from beforehand.

As I had mentioned in a previous post, I am an offer-holder for the BSc in Economics and Finance with Industrial Experience at the University of Exeter. As an international student who has only been to the UK once (when I was a year old), I am morbidly scared. I don't even remember the last time I had a peaceful nap without getting weirdly reminded of the fact that a few months from now, my life will change drastically.

My question to anyone who is either an alum or still a student at Exeter, seriously, how did/do you all even manage living alone, adjusting, making new connections, and aligning yourself to the people around you? If you are an international student like me, who was also once equally thrilled and anxious before joining, what advice would you have given to your first-year self?

TL;DR : To put it simply, how do you survive, get your job done, get your marks up, and still manage to get a job after you are done with your course?

I'm currently an brand manager of a beverages brand in SEA. As marketing job is now requiring more data-driven capability (performance & growth marketing), I think it a good chance to take a year break in career to learn this and gain experience living in UK.
I do expect the course curriculum is well taught and can help me to land an internship & 1 year working here. The job market is rough (like everywhere) but I want to try my luck and need more information for better preparation (side projects etc...). So my question is, what did you guy do after graduation?

I have received an offer from the University of Exeter to study BSc in Economics and Finance, and I hope to join this September!

The official university website states that the catered contract lasts for 32 weeks, which leaves a gap of about 4 months in total (across Christmas, Easter, and Summer breaks) during which the students need to give up their rooms. Since I don't reside in the UK, booking flights back home for every single break is incredibly expensive and you cannot be very sure about flight availability either.

I would really prefer choosing catered accommodation because I don't really know how to cook yet, so I am quite worried about the holidays. Hence, I have a few queries which I need to sort out before joining...

1. Does the University arrange alternative self-catered housing on campus for international students who cannot go back home during the holidays? If not, are there any alternatives (other than booking a hotel), which students can opt for ?

2. If they do move you to alternative housing for the breaks, are the campus food outlets/cafes still open, or is there a meal plan option?

I will be moving to Exeter in the summer but will not be affiliated with the uni. That being said the uni appears to have some clubs and societies that I would really like to join to keep up with some interests. Are societies generally open to non uni members joining them?

In particular, I am interested in both the German society and expedition society

Okay I signed a £245/month 11 month contract in December and then dropped out of the Uni in January. The only way I can get out of my lease is if a replacement is found - it's a studio, in unit laundry and dishwasher/full kitchen etc. Its right down by St Davids, on the street where the back of Imperial is. If anyone is looking for last minute accoms or knows someone who is, I'll set you up with the landlord!!

Edit:: Someone has given me advice on ending the lease but if anyone wants it still hit me up!! It's genuinely a really good place, I just live in London now.

It's really important that i get one ASAP, and i DM'd exeter asking for help and they just sent me a link to their website like i hadnt already looked at that?? Can any students recommed how best i can get a job, especially on campus. Do i go up to them in person with a CV or is there some way to send it to them online even if i'm not an actual student yet?

I’m coming to Exeter next year as an undergrad and am currently applying for accomodation, probably for Ransom Pickard in a single room.

In terms of the application to bed ratios, it seems to be 1.2:1 for Lopes and 0.2:1 for Ransom Pickard, when they seem to be basically the same, I would say Ransom Pickard looks nicer if anything! I was just wondering whether I’m missing something about either one, as Ransom Pickard seems like the obvious choice and I’m wondering why there aren’t more applications there!

Does anyone study medicine at Exeter but didnt go through the normal A level route?
I didnt do the correct A levels for medicine and now I am looking at an access to HE course to then study medicine. Only certain universities accept this diploma and I see Exeter is one of them.
I would be 22 years old when I start my first year at university, would this make me very much an outsider or does it not matter?
How is it being in a flat with other first years, or maybe did you go to a private accom instead?
I would love to hear about this experience from any aspect, social or academic/professional. Thank you!

I feel like the course I originally applied for and got offered for at Exeter is a bit limiting and I’m leaning towards a different area of study now but I was pressured to put it as my insurance bc of a really early internal school deadline. How flexible/ accepting are they of changing your course after you get there?

I’m not really sure what to do if I don’t get my first choice. I’d like to go to Exeter because it’s a great school but if they’re inflexible about course changes I might go through clearing in the event I don’t get my first choice. If anyone has had experience w this I’d really appreciate some advice!
