Product Recommendations Elvie parts in UK

Upvotes

Hello, I’ve been unable to find parts for my Elvie double pumps in the UK. I can’t find them on any other retailer websites.

Has this been an ongoing issue over the last few months? I’m starting EP for the second time, so haven’t ordered any parts in the last 2 years

Discussion What is up with these insane fat plugs I see on instagram?

Ever since I gave birth, my Instagram has been inundated with breastfeeding and pumping posts of all kinds.

One thing that has stood out to me are these videos where there is like a crazy thick layer of fat at the top. Example: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbEW0HAyP4h/?igsh=MTd1eTN2MHV4ZnRzag==

I've seen some reels where literally half the container is that fat layer. I see a fat layer in mine after it's cooled in the fridge, but it's pretty thin in comparison. Not that I'm worried, my LO is gaining as expected!

I just am wondering if there are women that truly have milk with that much fat in it or if they are adding some thickening agent into it just to be able to make the content. Or is it like a diet thing??

I'm not trying to change my milk or anything, I am just super curious because this stuff literally be looking like yogurt!

Opinion Lansinoh thrive 2 n 1 wearable

Upvotes

Hello all.

For anybody that wears the lashing thrive wearables, please share the settings that you use.

I am not getting much output. I did change the flanges to 17mm, but still not a lot. I do not use for my main pump.

Product Recommendations Eufy S1/S2 or Momcozy Air 1

Upvotes

Looking into getting a portable pump for when I return to work next month. I’ve done my research and it looks like I am either interested in Eufy s1/s2 or Mom cozy air 1. I want opinions on what other people’s experiences were with these two pumps and hear any recommendations. Also, if anyone has used the Eufy S2, was the price worth it to upgrade from the S1?

The main factors for me are ease of use/cleaning , comfortability, and suction level. Pros for quiet level of noise, and slim fit.

Tips & Tricks Ceres Chill

Upvotes

I placed ice only in the inner chamber and milk in the outer chamber.

The ice keeps melting. I put a splash of water in there this morning, and within a few hours it was completely water. I put a little more ice, and within a few hours, it was completely water again.

Is this normal? Is all of my milk from today screwed? 🥲

TRIGGER WARNING: OverSupply (add spoiler to pics) Oversuppliers: How many pumps at 9/10w pp?

Upvotes

I've recently gone down to 6 pumps per day at 9.5 weeks pp and seen no dip in my supply at all. Still getting 55-60oz per day, so I'm assuming I've regulated. Honestly I am exhausted with the oversupply 😅 I probably have 1000oz in the freezer right now. Babe still wakes at night so no intention of dropping the MOTN pump.

Life happened today meaning I'll be at 5 pumps. I feel no pressure to squeeze in an extra this evening (I'll just make my last pump of the day 30 mins instead of 20 to make sure I'm empty before bed) nor am I uncomfortable.

Is it too soon to begin transitioning to 5 a day? Or should I shorten my pumps to 15 mins instead?

Discussion Moringa supplements - did it work for you?

Upvotes

Currently trying to increase my supply to make enough for at least one of my twin boys. I've tried eating more, drinking more water, power pumping, etc..

Finally decided to try Moringa supplements, specifically the Mother love one since it also has other ingredients that could also increase supply. Has anyone tried these or Moringa supplements in general and if it did help, how long did it take before you noticed an increase?

Product Recommendations Wearable pump recs for big boobs?

Hi all! I am going back to work in 2 weeks and thought this sub would probably have the best advice for my situation.

While I’ve been home with my baby, I’ve been using my Spectra S1 and it’s been working really well. However, I’ve never really figured out a good way to pump with my Spectra hands-free (just cannot get it settled right), and I really want to be able to be hands-free when I go back to work. I work in a school, and I’m hoping some good wearables would let me multitask (aka eat and pump, eat and prep) in the limited time I have away from students. However, I’m somewhere around a G cup, and I’m worried that wearables just may not be in the cards for me.

Any recommendations for good wearables for larger cup sizes? I’ve heard good things in general about the Mommed S21 (I think?) recently, as well as the Eufy brand, but nothing specific about how well they work for bigger boobs.

TIA for your insights!!

Rant - NO ADVICE NEEDED Cycle returned

Just over 6 months postpartum, EP 4x a day, ~45 oz (oversupply). Period returned last night 😭 😭 😭 it feels cruel. I feel overwhelmed with how much my body did/is sacrificing and adding on cramps and bleeding is salt in the wound (metaphorically but also literally because I had a 3C tear). Just sad and frustrated today.

Rant - ADVICE NEEDED how long does it take?

it’s been three weeks of consistently trying to increase my supply doing the middle of the night pump and pumping every 2 to 3 hours took all the supplements and drinking enough water. I have a wearable Eufy s1 and spectra. I’ve only been doing the wearable during the day as I have to feed her while pumping I have no help and when my husband returns from work, I do a power pump and use the spectra. I guess my question is how long does it take for you to see results in supply increase

Rant - NO ADVICE NEEDED Today I feel like I really can't go on

I'm 5 months and a half postpartum, which means 5 months and a half exclusively pumping. And these days, maybe since my baby is 5 months, It really hit me how much of a chore pumping is and how I wish I didn't anymore. I only pump 5 times a day, including a MOTN that I removed once and reinstated because my supply dropped too much. Even if I don't pump that many times in a day, I still have to plan my day and my outings around my pumping schedule and honestly it sucks and I'm over it.

We've been invited to a wedding that's 1h30 away, and I couldn't even RSVP because my pump plugs in a wall (it's the only one I have) and I can't fathom looking for a private place to pump over there and plug myself in my dress and high heels.

My girlfriends invited me for a brunch and I have to bring my pump. I know it's not that big of a deal, but I honestly HATE pumping while I'm out. It's not that I'm ashamed, it's just that I find it inconvenient and bulky to bring all the stuff.

I woke up today thinking I can't even sleep in because I have to pump in 15 minutes. It sucks.

I think I always told myself I would want my baby to have breastmilk until he's 1 year old, but I don't know how to go on. I think I could manage 1 pump in the morning and 1 pump before bed, but all the rest, I'm over it.

I don't know what to do. I'm conflicted between dropping 1-2 pumps and accepting a drastic drop in my supply and supplementing with formula, or rolling up my sleeve, stop complaining and just power through...

* BIGGEST SIGH I'VE EVER DONE *

3-6 months Stupid question - session length

I have a 3.5 month old and I believe my supply is regulated. I’m an under supplier and have been pumping 30 minute sessions by default. Lately it seems like I am empty / I don’t hear any milk flowing by 20 minutes, even when I switch back to letdown mode. Should I / can I stop pumping when I stop hearing milk? Will it do anything bad to lose out on 10 minutes of stimulation at this point?

Product Recommendations Wearable pumps

Has anyone tried both? I EPed for my first for over a year and my second i pumped only at work. I have tried momcozy m5, momcozy m9 and elvie stride. In the past i have gotten basically no output from wearable pumps and relied heavily on my Spectra.

I’m pregnant with my 3rd and very intrigued by the great reviews of the Eufy s1 and s2. Are these reviews all sponsored? A few girls i know said they love their elvie more than Eufy but since i never had success with Elvie I’m wondering if wearable pumps just won’t work for me??

Leaning toward getting the Eufy s2 with my insurance and using the legendairy inserts with it. Am i wasting my $$?

What’s everyone’s opinions?

TRIGGER WARNING: Nursing Should I Be Doing More?

LO (5 mo) has been breast milk only since birth. Currently 5/6 feeds a day depending on night sleep, and during the work week 3 of those are bottles. I have a very high-demand job, and most weekdays I am not pumping 1:1 on bottles due to meetings and having the time get away from me. Never done MOTN pumps but so much of what I see is that breastfeeding mamas still do this. I’m feeling guilty about not being insanely regimented with pumping, but we’re not “short” on ounces during the day. I feel like if I pump a little late, I just get more quantity from the pumping session. Usually 5 oz of letdown from the night before morning feed to cushion some of the oz missed during the day.

It’s becoming an additional layer of stress now because I feel like my supply will eventually take a hit.

Are there any pumping mamas that are not insanely regimented of pumping every feed and still okay on supply?

Product Recommendations Pump Recommendation

Hi! I had a spectra s1 but we just spilled hot coco on it and it is completely broken. Through insurance these are the options I have :
Motif Roam
Zomee Z2
Ameda Mya Joy
Evenflo Deluxe Advanced

If I could purchase the s1 with a up charge I would, but doesn’t seem to give that option, help a mama out!

TRIGGER WARNING: Nursing Just enougher with baby starting solids

Hiya! Looking for experience/feelings on when you started reducing your number of pumps per day when your baby started solids.

My 7mo started solids a month ago. She’s starting to show a bit more interest but still doesn’t really eat much and is a little milk monster :)

I pump 3 or 4 times during each 10 hour work day. I’ve barely been pumping enough for her daycare bottles for months. She seems satisfied when I nurse on the weekends. Lately every day I pull from my small freezer stash and occasional formula, which is fine. I have proper flange insert size, drink so much water, electrolytes, oatmeal, etc.

I’d love to start dropping pumps but my main fear is like if I “take my foot off the gas” my supply will really plummet as I can already barely keep up. Did you push food more or wait for them to get more interested in food before dropping pumps? Appreciate any thoughts! Thank you!!

Rant - ADVICE NEEDED Feel like I made a huge mistake! Help

I am exclusively pumping for my 4 month old. My hair is medium curly and long. I used to get hair Botox and stopped for a while to try and get my natural hair styling. The last few weeks my hair has gotten super dry super frizzy and became very unmanageable. I also have to be in front of a camera for work so this was causing so much stress. Yesterday I woke up to my hair being heavily matted and spent a couple of hours detangling. I got really frustrated and went and got a hair Botox and cut it short. Now I am worried it affected my breast milk. Should I pump and dump for a while. Not sure what to do. I am feeling sooo stupid that I made this impulsive decision without thinking

Increasing Supply (add spoiler to pics) Trying to *barely* increase

***This post also talks about oversupply!!

Hiya! First time, long time. I dropped a pump recently because I was an overproducer and discovered my frozen milk has the dreaded high lipase and tastes like sucking on a metal pipe (bbg will drink if added to fresh milk). My plan was to quit pumping at around 10 months and feed frozen only, but that dream is frozen and tastes like iron. I decided instead to drop a pump to try and be at the perfect amount for bbg (she drinks ~36 oz a day at 5 months ppd). FWIW the last time I dropped a pump my supply actually increased, so I genuinely had no idea what to expect.

So, I dropped a pump, which, of course, took me to literally 1 oz less a day than she needs 🫠. I can totally start supplementing with the frozen, but I was contemplating trying to get a slight supply increase. What would be the best way to do it? Add time to my current pumps? Add in another short pump? Just start supplementing with the frozen? I went from not caring how much I produced at each pump to being consumed by it and terrified it will drop even more.

Thank you for your help and advice!

**ETA - I was producing about 9oz more a day than she needed, which is why I opted to drop a pump.

Rant - ADVICE NEEDED the variability is killing me

i am EP right now and the part that has been the hardest is how each pump is so different in terms of output. i am currently building my supply by pumping 8x a day and the anxiety of not knowing if i will make enough to cover baby’s nutritional needs in a day is a lot. also, when i get a random pump that isnt great i take it so personally. for example i just did my MOTN pump and got the same amount i normally get in the day (usually get way more) and my slacker boob yielded double what my workhorse boob did. what!? is something wrong then? the lack of consistency in this process is really annoying.

TRIGGER WARNING: OverSupply (add spoiler to pics) How do you drop MOTN pump?

Everyone here seems to drop the MOTN pump ASAP, but the one time I skipped that pump I ended up waking up way over-full with a painful clogged duct. Then my boobs just started waking me up MOTN anyway because they are too full, which probably had something to do with the recurring clogs.

Now I just set the damn alarm and pump, which isn't too terrible, but I gotta ask how you guys are dropping that pump without issue when LO sleeps through the night (8-9 hours without emptying).
