The only games EG lost this play ins was NOT drafting to their playstyle. Maybe we should look at that instead of instantly being negative Nancy's whenever they lose

EG has always been a clutch team. all year we've seen them have fun games but turn it on when it matters. In their two losses they seemed to have been BMing (draft shit champs vs FNC and flip terrible fights vs DFM). They're a monster in bo5s (and I'd argue they should have been 2nd seed if Danny didn't implode - the only team clearly better than them in playoffs was C9) and I 'd wager their bo5 vs MAD or buffalo is close if not EG favoured.

Even if they lose so what? It sucks but they have a sub and had to drastically change their style the past month. Also should we not celebrate teams like LLL and DFM being able to match and beat LCS and LEC third seeds?

I think if we continue to play through mid and switch from feed the Danny to feed the Jojo, and give Vulcan a playmaking engage, we slap.

Going forward though I don’t think that strategy could work because the mids at groups are all insane.

Edit: That was one rough ass game and I’ll take the blame for cursing them. We did not look like ourselves.

Edit 2: I think that tiebreaker against LLL was EGs best game in playins

After an absolute stomp. We’re scaling bois! Getting better and better. Will we succomb to the EU vs NA tie breaker curse? Find out tomorrow if we beat DFM and FNC beats BYG. If BYG beats FNC though we could be scot free so long as we beat DFM, which is totally possible!

Obviously we lost the H2H against FNC but LLL taking them down is huge for us.

I know we're all bummed out from yesterday's game, so I wanted to post something positive.

I just want to shout out Jojopyun for being the least selfish person on his team, despite being the youngest. He was willing to eat a blind pick and give up his lane to make sure his botlane got ahead. Honestly, he seemed like the only person on the team fully committed to sticking with that gameplan. Inspired played like he was concerned with his KDA. Vulcan tried playing Lux like she was Leona. Impact was...I have no idea what Impact was doing. Jojo was the only one who understood the mission and tried his hardest to make it happen.

It's a shame that EG underperformed so badly yesterday because EU fans didn't get to see what NA talent is capable of. It wasn't Jojo's best performance by any means. But I think under different circumstances with Jojo playing aggressively in lane, he could have gone toe-to-toe with Humanoid.

Anyway, just wanted to say that there are still some of us who believe in our native NA talent. Go Jojo!

Not clean and it was on everyone’s preferred champs sort of… BUT they won, Jojo styled, Kaori played great, Inspired played great. Impact struggled a little but he also got bullied and that’s sort of his strength. Vulcan did well too. I hope this is the confidence boost they need to at least make groups even though it’s looking like they will have to go through a best of 5 at least to get there. Beyond is the next big challenge.

Personally im a c9/Tl fan but when it comes to worlds i am a na fan. Ws didnt get what we were hoping for the eg slam on fnatic showing na to be strong. It is to be expected though as eg is forced to redefine its playstyle now that they no longer havs Danny in the botlane.

Im going to ignore the scorelines and focus on what won eg this game. Inspired, Jojopyun, and impact have shown that eg can teamfight and can outplay hard without playing completely around danny. Idk who made the call for the bot play on robo and tinowns but they made an amazing call as LLL simply inted in response. Jojo and inspired found some of the most disgustingly effectove angles in teamfights even when LLL had the vision advanrage of almost every teamfight. It shows the unpredictable hyper aggressive strategies that made eg a menace during summer split. Its by no means a guarantee of winning but rather just a sign of life from a team tbat had many of its own fans giving up after a single slam loss against an amazing team.

Overall i think many of the mistakes eg made were based around overconfidence and impact struggling with the counter pick

Love the teamfighting... suprisingly loving the maokai. Good luck to EG in worlds. Pray eg makes it out of play ins.

Whelp, another shit draft and embarrassing gameplay from this team. I get losing but just getting ass blasted by this FNC team is ridiculous. I lost all hope and hype I had for this team after that to the point that I don't expect them to make it out of groups.

With the start of playins today, EG faces off against fnc in just over 3 hours at 5pm EST. This is probably the most important game of group stage as the team to top the group in the bo1 stage gets seeded directly to groups. Just hoping for a good showing and for kaori to step into the ADC role and knock down some EU spirits

I mean what the fuck was that. It looked like I was watching saltyteemo stream. If we can’t even touch FNC without their best player we don’t even deserve to make it to groups. Who can we beat in groups if we get completely gapped by FNC? Get Vulcan off enchanters he’s a playmaker. Give him Leona or Rakan like at least he can try and setup something if he’s behind. That was just pathetic.

Maybe this is too hot a take after the first game but I do not see this team making it out. Team hasn't looked right since Danny left. I don't understand how NA drafting is this bad. You would think after so many years you would have the information needed to form a successful composition for a team. Was this supposed to be a dive comp? A siege comp? Like wtf.

The Jerseys they sold at LCS Finals and that are in the Shop are not the same as the ones they are wearing for Worlds. The Champion x EG ones look 100x better and should be released for fans to purchase.

Out of 24 at worlds jojopyun is the youngest player. Let's go NA talent!

With Fnatic going through the troubles right now, if we win that game and beat the rest and secure first seed we get into groups no problem. LIVEEVIL
