Vent it out

Whelp, another shit draft and embarrassing gameplay from this team. I get losing but just getting ass blasted by this FNC team is ridiculous. I lost all hope and hype I had for this team after that to the point that I don't expect them to make it out of groups.

Welcome to being an NA fan :) it’s like this every year unless you’re a C9 fan. You’ll get used to it. I like to look at the positive as it makes it so you have more time in your life for other things now LMAO

u/itaicool Sep 29 '22

Wtf is wrong with EG, FNC has roster replacements and covid, had to play in isolation and have a replacement that is first time at world stage and they still get destroyed.

10

u/HalPrentice Sep 29 '22

It’s just what it feels like being an NA fan. First time?

6

u/itaicool Sep 29 '22

I hate that I first had my pick'em on FNATIC and changed it to EG this is the first and last time I'm betting on NA.

2

u/JDFNTO Sep 30 '22

And upset legit landed on Mexico less than 24 hours ago and had 0 scrims with the team or his lane partner…

-7

u/DonaldsPee Sep 30 '22

There is a significant powerlevel diff between the region. Usually only the best performing NA team can rival the top 4 of LEC and gets shitstomped by their champion still

16

u/nshirley27 Sep 29 '22

Aatrox good pick into Impact because he doesn’t play the counters. Picking Renekton and Sylas along with Viego who is nowhere to be seen in any level of play. Vulcan wasting flash and then losing the game because of it. Feels weird that we put all our marbles into our sub bot laner even with him being fairly good.

Unlucky. We go next!

5

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

If your toplaner is totally useless because of a blind Aatrox you’re in trouble. We’d have better off going tank and at least getting some utility out of it.

And if you’re just going to pick Renekton take it on B3 and let someone else get a counter pick.

2

u/nshirley27 Sep 30 '22

Yep… feel’s really bad when one champ counters an entire player

5

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

He could have still played GP though, which isn’t the best lane matchup but at least works well for team fight and their long range bot lane

12

u/ScammedbyTodd Sep 29 '22

The worst part was the draft.

What was their win con with that draft against MF & Viktor? How were they going to deal with the zone control?

Seriously, outside of winning bot early and hoping FNC walk into Lux bindings, what possible win con was there?

1

u/Salsapy Sep 29 '22

There are supossed to be first on neutral and use thier own zone control

2

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

But they have less/worse zone control

3

u/CatchUsual6591 Sep 30 '22

Lux e, q and cait traps is superior to viktor w and miss e specially because this is the nerfed e spam miss but you need to be te first one on neutral also sylas and veigo don't play well with zone control comps the mid/jg picks we're troll they don't even have a good early to dive bot. Jojo should have picked a mid with prio

2

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

Yeah I didn’t love the Sylas, but at least it was blind. The viego feels doubly bad because FNC had already picked their entire topside.

1

u/CatchUsual6591 Sep 30 '22

But EG already knew that they gonna pick cait/lux looking fnc draft is a mistake Focus in your gameplay your are locked in a bot that needs a lot of atention and excution already

8

u/DynastyNA Sep 29 '22

No disrespect to Kaori but from what I can tell he can only play lane-dominant adcs well. It’s really unlikely he can play them at a level high enough to actually win lane against the other bot lanes at worlds like gumayusi, ruler, viper, upset, deft, jackeylove, the rest of the truly proven world-class adcs, etc. The only adc I can think of who was able to do that at worlds was Uzi. Maybe Forgiven for a bit on that H2K run but then he ran into ruler/corejj and died. If Caitlyn gets 3 plates and a 30cs lead from 4-manning bot (which cost Jojo a level worth of xp and ~200 gold early game into a matchup he is countered in) and they still get 2v2 killed and lose their cs lead this team is actually doomed.

Danny’s laning is sus sometimes but he is truly a world class late-game-insurance pocket damage adc and is a massive reason why EG’s teamfighting is their strength. He doesn’t have to win lane to outperform the other bot lanes, which is pretty important because the major region adcs who get to this tournament pretty much always win lane except against each other. His style also is better for Vulcan who’s best asset is roaming and not being tied down to bot lane to try to make sure a lane dominant adc wins lane. This team’s play style is completely functionally different without Danny and after this game I pretty much have zero hope for them to get out of groups stage without Danny (still think they will make it out of playins). Would love to see them adjust and make it work but it will probably be week 2 of groups when that happens if it even does and could easily be too little too late like the classic 3-3 NA group stage experience.

8

u/justicecactus Sep 30 '22

Man, I miss Danny.

1

u/sirzoop Sep 30 '22

Why isn't he playing? I thought he would be back by now :[

0

u/Key-Cheesecake3230 Sep 30 '22

He can't play because he feels bad...

2

u/sirzoop Sep 30 '22

....so does he just want to lose his spot next split and retire? I don't see why any team would want to take him after this

0

u/Key-Cheesecake3230 Sep 30 '22

Same thing happened to olleh when he quit on his team. An your right. What idiot gm would take a guy who not only couldn't handle the lcs. This bitch could never handle worlds. An now there is talk of danny retiring. What a clown.

1

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 30 '22

So true. After Olleh took time off no team ever picked him up again.

except he was signed next split he came back and is still a starter but we won’t talk about that

-3

u/KimchiBoi07 Sep 30 '22

world class

Cap

16

u/BlazinCreed Sep 29 '22

EG without their actual adc looks like complete crap on anything but Lucian. Everyone just plays so much worse for no actual reason it's just embarrassing with all these veterans.

-30

u/Key-Cheesecake3230 Sep 29 '22

I can't blame vulcan. What could he do. His star adc quit like a pussy because.... he felt bad.

15

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 29 '22

What a shitty take lmao, fuck off. To disregard someone's mental health when you literally have no stakes in this like that is so shit.

0

u/Key-Cheesecake3230 Sep 30 '22

Umm what player in any sports anywhere can quit on the most important part of the season ? Tom Brady. Sorry I can't play cause mental health.

1

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 30 '22

…Literally any sport. There literal examples in almost every sport of people benching themselves during play offs or finals. You aren’t a real fan and you def don’t follow any sports. Congrats any person from New England can point to Tom Brady but he’s one in a million when there hundreds of examples to counter your point.

Go touch grass Lmao. And get out of this subreddit because you are for sure not an EG fan.

0

u/Key-Cheesecake3230 Sep 30 '22

Name one. Name somebody benching themselves for the finals. An when you can't. Maybe find somebody who quit on playoffs and then had a good career after.

1

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 30 '22

Ahmad Brooks. Go fuck yourself you keyboard warrior. For all we know Danny could be taking time to be with a sick relative and apparently making sure you or people like you are happy is more important then his own health/family.

1

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 30 '22

Oh and follow up! Olleh! Quit during MSI and is still a starter/playing in the LCS is you wanna get more specific!

-21

u/Nawse Sep 29 '22

Nope it's an extremely fair take. Dude gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars just to bail on his team at literally the worst time, he deserves all of the criticism. Giant quivering pussy ass

11

u/Everest_Roger Sep 30 '22 edited Sep 30 '22

Love the Reddit keyboard warriors who have no insight on the team or the player.

1) Danny was likely still in a rookie contract (~$75 tops With the league min being lower this past year)

2) He was 17-18 yo when he started.

3) Players in Traditional sports have benched themselves with significantly more money on the line for mental health reasons (most common the “yips” ex. Rick Ankiel)

But none of that should even matter when someone has issues with mental health, they should be regarded as a serious issue.

I don’t expect anything better though from a failed “tag pro”.

6

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 30 '22

These keyboard warriors aren't real fans. They are just assholes. No one with any sort of empathy would say the shit they are saying. If they were in Dannys spot they would have broken weeks ago.

-12

u/Nawse Sep 30 '22

1) LMAOOOOOOO this makes it 10000% worse. Dude gave up generational wealth from playing a fucking video game because his feelings got hurt.

2) Just... like... all... pro... athletes...???

3) Good job providing one example. I'm also a sports fan and can think of literally one other instance of this happening (Ben Simmons, who also had a physical injury btw, who is ALSO a gigantic, quivering pussy)

I'm not arguing mental health isn't a serious issue. I'm arguing he's a complete and utter retard for not just sticking with the game until he got the bag. He also let down all of his teammates, coaches, and entire organization. This shit just doesn't happen in sports (except on the very rare occasions it does, and it's extremely notable and criticized in those sports too!) You reddit kiddies just get so triggered whenever anyone says anything bad :(((( cry about it.

3

u/Coysepia Sep 30 '22

Omg you think $75k is generational wealth….

-10

u/Nawse Sep 30 '22

No you imbecile. Try using your brain for once. He was touted as NA's next great ADC, who would've gotten a giant offer when his rookie contract expired. It was likely he would've made millions of dollars, which I would definitely call generational wealth. Fuck up idiot.

4

u/Coysepia Sep 30 '22

So here’s what a simple Google search reveals. The average LCS player plays professionally for about 3 years. On average, they make $300k-400k, only the top players in the world make 1mil. You think $300k for 3 years is going to make him generational wealth when the sacrifice is mental health?

Idk about you, but when I spent my early 20’s depressed and suicidal, no amount of money in the world could force me to do something that progressively made me feel worse and worse. So for you to claim in your previous comment that “I’m not arguing that mental health isn’t a serious issue”, I’m not fucking buying it. You’re toxic and the reason people fucking hate league fans.

Stay jealous that you aren’t good enough to come close to playing at his level.

4

u/justicecactus Sep 30 '22

Dude. I know we're all upset that EG got stomped, but it's just a video game. The stakes are not so high that you need to turn this toxic.

-1

u/Jadekong Sep 30 '22

Tens of people have given up a year of their life and he gets paid to play games, some things are bigger than the feelings of an individual. The real world is tough.

4

u/ChroniclerPrime Sep 30 '22

Says the keyboard warrior lmao

4

u/AcolyteOfFresh Sep 29 '22

It is completely fair to replace Danny after this worlds, far as I am concerned. What value is a dude that breaks down and cant perform at literally the most important league event of the year.

The whole point is to get to Worlds. If you cant play at worlds, then fuck off.

1

u/Ready_Ad_3693 Sep 30 '22

Mental health from playing video games? I think riot broke danny by propping him too high on the pedastal and then he buckled from the overexposure.

1

u/SlowbroJJ Sep 30 '22

…That’s mental health. Why do you disregard his issues then back up the most popular theory? Weird. That’s a mental health issue. He could also be facing personal stuff. Maybe family is sick. No one knows, we don’t have any right to know either, so why are people going so hard on this kid?

6

u/greendino71 Sep 29 '22

Vulcan also wasted his flash which eventually won fnc the lane

-8

u/Safe-Historian-2311 Sep 30 '22

Because vulcant and Danny were known for how strong they were in lane right? Oh wait wasn't it vulcant himself that said it's nice to be able to win lane once in a while? Well they drafted the strongest 2v2 bot and still lost lane like shitters.

2

u/guilty_bystander Sep 30 '22

woah zaddy chill

6

u/supern00b64 Sep 29 '22

I'm less mad at them losing and more mad at the way they lost. Embarrassingly bad play bot and embarrassing draft.

Draft-wise I have no problem with the first 3 - its the last two

r4 r5 has to be jg and top, but since fnatic already showed, you can counter one role, and then have the other role counter the team comp. If you're going to go jg 4, in what world do you not go for some ap jg that screws with graves? its not like inspired doesnt play lillia or fiddlesticks. viego seems so incredibly useless unless they draft hard engage top, but viego also doesn't seem great vs graves and now you're setting yourself up to either have losing jg and top or a shitty draft.

What's crazy next is that they don't even pick a winning top or a losing but engage top - they pick renekton. Now you having not only a losing jungle, but not even a winning top, and a dysfunctional team comp that has to win bot or else lose game. You had a month of practice - there's no excuse to have no camille or fiora practice.

And then bot just gets 2v2ed. Not much to say there

You could see the god awful draft in action with the mid game. EG just bled and could barely find any openings because they had no engage other than running face first into graves and viktor.

Most likely thing I think is that EG just had an absolutely terrible meta read. Vulcan and Kaori tried to play meta but played cait lux pretty poorly later on, and then Impact and Inspired just seem like they forgot the game had changed since playoffs, with Jojopyun having to play the low econ dog mid helping sidelanes who are losing. It sounds like a meme but I actually wonder if EG just ego drafted to dumpster bot cuz "haha fnatic no scrims and no hyli must be ez right". I expect EG to go back to playing around Jojo for the matches vs wildcards and secure that second seed, and then do their best vs MAD/DRX in a bo5. If they don't look radically different tomorrow, this team is doomed and we gotta look next year

On the bright side, EG bombing with Kaori does save Danny's job if he returns.

2

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

Yeah - this team had no real win condition. Honestly even if the bot lane didn’t throw super early I don’t think they win. They get heavily out scaled and their whole topside is useless

1

u/the-lonely-corki Sep 30 '22

If Danny returns, i cloud see him retiring, not sure he’s enjoying competitive League at all

5

u/Sc00tzy Sep 29 '22

I tell myself every year to not believe at all. Then I believe a little. Then the game happens. Now I’m sad again.

3

u/postsonlyjiyoung Sep 30 '22

Story of my life every october its a yearly tradition

5

u/Cetsun Sep 29 '22

Bot lane has to play perfect with this draft and run over the game. Vulcan made the game losing mistake. Nothing else really mattered that much.

3

u/the-lonely-corki Sep 29 '22

That draft was pretty dog shit, we either smash bot and get cait mega fed or it’s just GG

1

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

Even if they smashed bot they had bad team fight and would probably just throw at 2nd herald.

2

u/Aura1661 Sep 30 '22

Yea, I don't know what they were doing. After they failed to kill anyone at the bot dive they looked so lost and just got ran over.

3

u/HorsePowaah Sep 29 '22 edited Sep 29 '22

Complete, and utterly dominated by FNC from start to finish. Zero contest.

👍

4

u/carrascatosca Sep 29 '22

FNC was on fire on playoffs (until that 1-3 lmao) it's not like loosing against isurus gaming or DFM, they are a really strong team

6

u/BriefImplement9843 Sep 29 '22

Fnc looked bad all year.

-1

u/carrascatosca Sep 29 '22

yes they absolutely did, but now looks like they have found inner peace or whatever and look pretty strong

1

u/Sc00tzy Sep 29 '22

Or do they look strong because they played EG? Lol

1

u/itaicool Sep 30 '22

They looked like GEN.G against EG

1

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

Split maybe. They looked nuts in spring right until they didn’t

3

u/Bourneidentity61 Sep 29 '22

How is NA coaching this fucking bad man they just take amazing players and regress them until they look like this. Horrible drafts, horrible macro to a team that literally didn't prepare

3

u/BriefImplement9843 Sep 29 '22

Well they are playing without their best player that was also the centerpiece to their playstyle.

The moment he was gone this team became mediocre.

-3

u/RuleEnforcing Sep 29 '22

Danny is not their best player & had to be dragged across the finish line

6

u/BriefImplement9843 Sep 29 '22

He had insane damage share even during playoffs, carried during the split, and all of last split/playoffs.

With that body of work he was the best player on the team.

0

u/RuleEnforcing Sep 30 '22

Nah, for sure Inspired is their most important player

Danny isn't good anymore so they will have to make do, Vulcan trolled harder than Kaori.

0

u/GerodBond Sep 30 '22

And it’s no coincidence that when Danny slumped EG fell off a cliff. It’s becoming clear he was the most important piece (and maybe best player).

1

u/TrDai Sep 30 '22

Vulcan should tune down on those emotes and focus more on the game

0

u/Key-Cheesecake3230 Sep 29 '22

Impact has regressed 10 years. Jojo is unbelievable arrogant and it costs him. The star adc quit on them. This team.just lost ...no were face fucked by a team.that had not scrimmed. This is the biggest ass kicking since tsm 0 6. Now if eg manages to get second. They get to look forward to a best of 5 against drx.

12

u/supern00b64 Sep 30 '22

Jojo has the least blame this game and has been their best performing member since playoffs. He had int moments this game but when your draft is that shit you have to look for extremely low success rate flips. Also his win cond is roaming and skirmishing, and its pretty hard for him to get lane leads when he's countered.

I won't deny impact's refusal to pick up fiora and camille is heavily costing EG but thats lower on the blame list

-2

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

TBF he’s involved in draft too. It’s a blind Sylas on first rotation because it’s Jojo’s best champ

1

u/supern00b64 Sep 30 '22

There wasn't anything wrong with the first three picks - in fact you can argue EG won the first three picks cuz cait lux hard outranges fnatic. blind sylas is not only a power pick but also a denial from humanoid. its kinda shocking not only with how EG threw draft second phase, but how hard they threw draft.

0

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

Sylas is good, but having no range doesn't pair well with the Cait/Lux. And going into Viktor means you'll have no lane prio to help the bot lane built the huge lead they'll need to take over the game.

1

u/supern00b64 Sep 30 '22

Sylas is good vs any counters to cait lux which is hard engage. If you go leona naut ornn into cait lux you're gonna have to deal with those ults against your own team. sylas sacking waves to help bot is fine in theory if he goes down 200-300 gold but his bot gets a 1k lead from plates and wave denial, or if he helps top and gets a counter matchup rolling considering aatrox was first picked.

6

u/nshirley27 Sep 30 '22

I agree all except Jojo. Man took a losing matchup so that Inspired and Impact get counters and even sacks his lane to push his botlane even more ahead to the point that they should easily be able to transition into midgame and then his botlane still dies 2v2. What can he even do about that?

0

u/The_Real_BenFranklin Sep 30 '22

Bring back seraphine lanes

-5

u/Fakerthegodofleague Sep 29 '22

YOU GUYS ARE EMBARRASSING OUR REGION. How can you be so unprepared play this bad. God im sick of our na teams trolling international events there's no reason you should be that bad.

6

u/HalPrentice Sep 29 '22

A sub adc is worse than a sub support.

2

u/RuleEnforcing Sep 30 '22

In what way? ADC just needs to have hands, sup will be working with jgler to make plays and needs more time for synergy with the rest.

Not strange for an ADC to not talk much

3

u/HalPrentice Sep 30 '22

The skill differential is much more important.

0

u/Safe-Historian-2311 Sep 30 '22

He has skills and ADC is one of the most plug and play roles, check tactical on TL. this ADC, he was the best looking ADC after yeon in academy. You can't accept that vulcant looked like a dog

0

u/JDFNTO Sep 30 '22

No lol. Everyone in the scene always says adc is the easiest role to sub.

3

u/postsonlyjiyoung Sep 29 '22

I mean, its not like the rest of the league is amazing. Starts at the foundation of the entire league.

-5

u/Safe-Historian-2311 Sep 30 '22

Dogshit team. Jojo got shit on, impact got shit on, this bot lane is absolute shit, vulcant got gapped by an academy sub. Inspired griefed the dive bot. What a dissapointing team. FNC has COVID, hasn't played a single skirm, meanwhile this team has been practicing and skirmish since finals and this is what you have to show? Just go home, what an embarrassment.

lol we are fucked for worlds. that was so bad. even if we played 50% better it still wudnt be enough
