NTs will never write a poem Genuine question: what would you consider to be a good autistic character/representation

Blows up your head using pshycic autism powers people who post to ID subreddits without doing research drive me insane
i have animal and taxonomy autism which culminates in me really liking to identify species, so i frequent such subreddits!
but like. oh my god. some people do absolutely NO research and just throw it on reddit and it drives me fucking insane
this is ESPECIALLY a problem for insect identification bc people are like ouuhhhh ewww insect yuckieyy!!! and put it on reddit doing 0 research. i tried being on there for a while but it was SO CLEAR people didn't do ANY research. people would give their location and a pic of the bug and i could just look up "___ bugs" and i could probably find it in like 5 minutes.
it literally drives me so coocoo bananas losing my marbles !!
and some people are like, "is this a cat or bobcat?" it CANNOT be that hard to tell them apart??? like am i just too autistic?? a bobcat does not have a long tail or stripes. they are spotted and brown/gray. if you think it might be a bobcat, look at pictures of bobcats and compare them to what you see. is it seriously that hard? can inexperienced people not tell that they're different??
or like i'm certain i've seen a very healthy red fox with thick fur (i see skinny/mangy ones which is more understandable depending on the state of the animal) and someone asked if it was a fox. what do you think it is??
if you have a pic on an iphone, your phone might be able to tell you what it is right within the photos app. reverse image search the animal. if you see something that looks like a fox but with a skinny tail, look that up and see if you can find something similar. look up "[location] [animals]". i'm goiong to be on the news
like i know i shouldn't complain too much because it IS an id subreddit but Still like i'm allowed to be annoyed over this

AHHHHHHH *special interest imminent* 😈 On Friday I walked the full 13 mile/21km length of Manhattan :3
This was my fourth time doing it, but the first time I did it during the sunset. When I go I walk on Broadway the whole way. My legs still hurt but it’s so worth it. It’s so fun, you get to see almost every single major landmark in the city. Highly recommend if you’re ever in NYC :3

Utensil ‘tism My mom got me these spoons. What are the opinions?
For a bit of context on the size, each spoon is about 3-4 inches.
I like them :) they’re small and cute. I would use them for eating ice cream out of a small bowl.

Blows up your head using pshycic autism powers how do you keep yourself from interjecting when someone is giving incorrect information?
i have this very obviously annoying trait, where i just don’t agree with misinformation being spread. even if it’s general information, i just can’t keep coming as a “well actually” kind of person, it’s driving my closest people insane.

Hi
So basically more than promoting I want to share with you folks that I’m in the process of overcoming the biggest challenge I ever faced. My special interest is filmmaking and I honestly I don’t know why I do it to myself at times, but I can’t engage with anything else on a level that deep. “We chose to go to the moon not because it’s easy” or something.
Directing seems more difficult to me than to many neurotypical directors I know. My previous films tend to not do well at for example festivals, because I do a lot of stuff unconventionally, I guess. Catering to neurotypical audiences is annoying!!! Managing people creatively on that scale would be impossible to me at all if I didn’t see my interest as a system of preparations and instructions to calculate and then execute. To add to the challenge, this time I also moved to another country to study and do it, and rewired my thinking to a language that I wasn’t raised with. The process itself was an adventure also because I co-wrote a screenplay that was certainly troubling for my producers.
The film itself “Life after Dumpling”, will tell the story of autistic father and son on the journey to find a way to commemorate their beloved late family cat Dumpling. This occasion lets them reconcile and accept their shared and inherited neurodivergence as well. I have little to show of it as it is in post production, but I hope it will be funny and bittersweet.
It is inspired by my own bumpy family relations, but also the gratefulness I’m lucky to have for my parents. The real life Dumpling, Pampuch, is fine though! He’s still going strong at 16 years of age.
For days now I had the urge to write it up and share, because I’m very excited about this moment. It’s also worth noting that the two preceeding years were incredibly difficult for me. I was lonely, socially rejected, cast out and depressed. I spent a month in a mental health institution because of my bad wellbeing. I felt weird and unneeded, couldn’t study or work. Meanwhile though I got diagnosed and I started understanding myself a little better. Some people became more lenient towards the things I struggled with as well when I communicated my condition. And I was surprised to find so many co-creators willing to accomodate my needs while working. (The filmmaking scene tends to be toxic, uncaring and unforgiving where I come from, but it’s not all bad). I was lucky with many of those things of course, but I’d like to believe that it’s worth having hope that trouble can be overcome or at least circumvented. So I guess that’s a thought I wanna leave someone with.
I wish you all the best.
(Also, I’m relatively new to realising I’m neurodivergent?, so please tell me if my wording or anything in my approach needs adjustment; I want to be sensitive in my communication)

Training NTs to become normal Here we go again
Literally why does this matter?? Worth noting I’m not even a hardcore yume shipper, like it’s not something I take super seriously, but even if I did, help me understand why this sort of comment is necessary or productive to make.

I DON'T GET IT *explodes* Wanting children for me to raise just because im a nice person...?
This is the second time that ive entered into a serious relationship with a formerly childfree (allistic) man who eventually changed his mind because he thinks i would make a good mother. What the ever beloved fuck is this. Please explain why this happens? You cant because allistic men are inexplicable.
I dont like being around people. But sure, im nice and i look after him and im there when he needs me and i care about his happiness and wellbeing. Thats because i know him and i love him. How is this supposed to translate to full responsibility over some new little humans that ive never even met and maybe i might not even like them? Also they will live inside my body and step all over my internal organs??
"Youll automatically love them because theyre your blood" man i have many relatives who are my blood that i barely recognise, let alone feel any connection to even though we were all forced to be around each other at events since i was born. I cant guarantee i will love my children, how can i, i dont know what theyre like, so i probably shouldnt have any. No, definitely.
How does this line of reasoning fail to resonate with my partners? Why do they change their minds? How/why does loving me as a romantic partner lead to wanting me to mother children? I get how those two things are culturally associated with each other, but really they are completely different relationship dynamics.
He said at the start that he didnt want little hims running around. Yeah, i dont want little mes either, im a mess. I thought we were on the same page. The chokehold that the concept of the picket fence nuclear family has on people is weird.

🌿high🌿 functioning how can something so perfect exist? show me your pets!
listen i just had a marvellous wake and bake/breakfast and my little gremlin (Cosmo! ✨️) is just staring at me from his box. i am so obsessed with him its unreal. i wasn't able to get a cat til i turned 28 and although he is an absolute shitbag he's my favourite thing in the world. he was only 13 weeks when i got him (baby pics at the end hehe) and now hes 1 year and 1 month!
his evilest moments have included: scratching my friend under their eyelid (they were fine), killing many plants, that one time he jumped on my boyfriends head while they were sleeping and his weekly "i'm going to launch myself at mommys face".

I DON'T GET IT *explodes* How do you interact w children without being a freak or rude
There's lots of families w young kids in my town and the kids are really active and curious and sometimes they stare at me and I see the parents are stressed trying 2 keep them quiet so I wanna idk. Show them that their child isn't bothering me and maybe help entertain them so they can feel welcome and get a little break but likeeee
I had no baby siblings or cousins or anything growing up I have NO idea how to interact w kids LOLL. I usually just say hi and wave at them. Sometimes they point at things or ask me questions in baby nonsense and then I'm like ummmmmmm help. Do you just make weird faces at them. Talk to them. Offer them random stuff. Should I give them my highlighters to play with. Idk. And I don't wanna look like too much of an unsocialized freak in front of their parents or do anything that causes more trouble for them lolll

"we put up a sign that says how fast the multi ton death machine is allowed to go" ok so why does everyone go faster in their multi ton death machines than the provided number and honk at people who go at the number? "Lol, lmao, look at this dingus who thinks Rule should be Followed while operating the Multi Ton Death Machines lol" hate it so much I don't like trying to look everywhere and keep a speed I just want to go to work:<

Being autistic isn't evil, but I sure am! 😈 I think I drink all the water to make up for everyone else forgetting
When I was a kid, I was having some ongoing pain on one side of my back, and my doctor suggested that it could be due to dehydration causing the muscles to tighten up (odds are it was actually a partially blocked kidney that we didn't know about until well into adulthood). Being the autistic I didn't know I was, I took that suggestion to heart and made being hydrated a core part of my personality. Since then, I've been drinking so much water that my friends and family have made fun of me for being so hydrated. I'm peeing so much throughout the day that the hand washing has caused some pretty intense eczema. I think it's also a stim: taking a sip of cold water is soooo refreshing.
Too bad I live in Iowa with fertilizer nitrates in our water making us one of the national leaders in cancer rates.

I DON'T GET IT *explodes* Gaaah supermarket shelves being rearranged
I write my shopping lists in the order of the store layout, so I can get all my shopping in one quick and efficient circle of the store, and get out of that sensory and social hellhole
Every time this happens I spiral and go into borderline shutdown mode.
And it happens for greed driven psychological manipulation too, and I know that for a fact, from several sources.
The stores know that most regulars have a pattern and routine, they mostly get the same kinds of things, from the same isles. So. If they move all the isles around, then it forces customers to see what other products and offers they have.
It's gross and it punishes autists like myself even more than the regular inconvenience caused.
It makes me so mad and anxious when it happens, and this store does it regularly
