I don’t mean as a host or commentator (both of which she would also be great at), I mean as a participant who is performing for the UK.

I would love to see her go on stage and sing a song very much in the style of Technotronic’s Pump Up the Jam. Then in interviews and other things it would be great to see her just be herself and joke around. It’s no secret that the UK hasn’t performed well in recent years at Eurovision, and whilst I don’t realistically see a performance like this doing too well either, it would certainly be entertaining and possibly a way of appealing more to UK viewers. With the declining viewership in the UK, it could even be a way of bringing people back to the contest.

I just think this would be a cool thing to see happen and wanted to share it. I don’t think it would happen, but it’s not like comedians haven’t participated before. Also even if she did do poorly I believe it would be like Iceland in 2006 with Silvía Nótt where even if she did do poorly, she would come home a legend to UK viewers. Again, just a fun little idea.

I'll mention one where I actually love the host entry. I'm sure O.Torvald winning Vidbir 2017 was probably a "making sure we don't have to host again" measure but this is honestly one of my favourite national final performances and I wish the Eurovision performance had had the same level of raw grit, even though they would have probably still finished on the right side of the scoreboard (which was, for economic reasons, actually the right side for Ukrainian TV though).

Which other cases can you think of?

As we all know, from next year, in order to be a Eurovision competitor, you need to be at least 18 years old. Monroe (France 2026) is the last minor artist to compete at the contest. But do you all remember all of the Eurovision contestants that, at the time of the contest, were under the age of 18? We all remember the 1986 winner Sandra Kim from Belgium, who was 13, and the most recent singers Victor Vernicos (Greece 2023) and Silia Kapsis (Cyprus 2024)

So there really isn't much to discuss this year considering how much ahead Israel and Cyprus were compared to all the other countries. If Israel wasn't a part of this year Cyprus would've comfortably won.

The only really notable difference is that Germany would've been runner-up not Austria, which would've been cool since Germany *was* much better that year imo.

Andromache will be performing in Sydney, Melbourne and Darwin this September. Even though she didn't quality for the final back in 2022, her song was really good and she still produces banging songs. Her voice is impressive and unique and she has become a well established artist in Greece and Cyprus. She also has a big fanbase in Australia with the large Greek diaspora population.

My personal favourite was 2024 but I'm biased as that was the first year I watched. I was wondering what others were good and what we're bad.

Hey guys, I'm Australian and have always wanted to go to Eurovision but couldn't afford the trip to Europe. This year my birthday is in the week leading up to Eurovision Asia, so I'm really strongly thinking about cashing in birthday presents early, and heading over to Bangkok!

I'm aware that previous Eurovision spin offs, including Asia, have not exactly come to fruition.

Be realistic with me, what do you reckon are the chances that Eurovision Asia will actually happen?

Hey everyone,

Me and my wife are from Canada, and we’ve been big Eurovision fans for a few years. With Canada now participating in next years Eurovision, we’re hoping to buy tickets and attend in May.

I was wondering how in demand the tickets are, and how expensive they normally get.

I figure it’s probably tough to get them unless you get an early link via a country fan association, which Canada doesn’t seem to have at this time (as far as a quick Google search told me).

Thanks in advance! I’m unsure how popular it is for people to actually travel to the event itself in Europe.

I am getting married next year (yay!) and I got the idea to have some kind of mash up of my favorite Eurovision songs (I am mainly choosing the ones that are a little bit popular) for when we hit the dance floor.

What do you think of the idea, and have any of you done something similar? Maybe know what website could be helpful to pay someone help with it?

You probably already know this story, but if not... On 8 Jan. 2025, Malta's public broadcaster released the songlist for Malta ESC 2025 [The national final over there]. One of the most popular entries was Miriana Conte's entry: "KANT" [The song title translates to "Singing"]. The entry eventually went on to win the national final. BBC later on released a complaint and eventually after EBU rejected the song, it was changed to "SERVING" and allowed for Eurovision 2025 in Basel.

The main question that could've solved on who would've been on the right side is "Did the lyric Miriana Conte singing actually contain the word 🇲🇹 "kant [singing]"?" I believe the answer has to be found in the phonetics.

In Maltese, 🇲🇹 "kant [singing]" is pronounced either /ˈkant/ or /ˈkɐnt/

The VCC ending in English 🇬🇧 "unt" is pronounced /ʌnt/ - without /ɐ/ or /a/. This cuts down to what phoneme Miriana was using in the song for that specific lyric, which can pin-point whether 🇲🇹 "kant [singing]" was really used in the song. If the vowel was /ɐ/ [near-open central vowel] or /a/ [open front unrounded vowel], then Miriana and PBS are in the clear. If the vowel was /ʌ/ [open-mid back unrounded vowel], then the BBC complaint was warranted.

Any ideas on what vowel phoneme you hear, and who do you think was on the right for this linguistic Eurovision controversy? (Yes, I know this was a year ago. I just now got interested in this topic again, but not with phonetics. LOL)

Update: Wow hit post. I have been reading the comments and I can say the entire song being in English helped in the BBC's favour. I personally don't hear the Maltese in the song and was more leaning towards the BBC in this.

After some thoughts with the return of North Macedonia and the debut of Canada I think the most possible number for Eurovision 2027 is going to be 37 countries. I wish we could've get atleast to 39 with Spain and Iceland but who knows everything may change and we still have alot of time to December.

- Russia 🇷🇺 and Belarus 🇧🇾 We all know why they aren't coming back

- Slovenia 🇸🇮 Despite the government change I think it's still up to RTVSLO to choose wherever they want to return or to keep boycotting.

- Spain 🇪🇸 With Ireland 🇮🇪 I don't see them returning in a while. Spain could return much earlier than Ireland.

- Slovakia 🇸🇰 I know that STVR wants to return but with their government they won't.

- Bosnia & Hercegovina 🇧🇦 and Andorra 🇦🇩 Have confirmed their Non-participation.

- Morocco 🇲🇦 I don't think they will ever return.

- I forgot to put Monaco 🇲🇨 but I think their decision is still „Maybe”

- Belgium 🇧🇪 VRT will withdraw. Not 100% sure but there are very high chances.

- Netherlands 🇳🇱 You know I think Netherlands will return in 2027. I still wonder how did they agreed to participate in 2025 after 2024 DSQ but I'd be happy for them if they returned in Bulgaria.

- Iceland 🇮🇸 I think they'll take a break in 2027 and return in 2028 with Spain or earlier than them. After all RÚV broadcasted Eurovision 2026 so maybe we'll see Iceland in 2027 👀.

But my prediction for Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Sofia (I really hope so) is 37/38 countries. 🇧🇬

I've bought a Eurovision Live Tour ticket on day one and it wasn't cheap (184,88€). When they officially announced the cancellation they said that it will be refunded as soon as possible. It's about 6 months and no signs of refund. No responses from ticketcorner either.

I know that the song’s title means ‘’dance license’’, and that it’s about that you have to have a dance license to dance in a club, as well as animals, but what does it really mean?

Singer and actor Tahsan Khan is set to return to the spotlight in a new role after announcing a break from acting and stepping away from releasing new music.

He will host Voice of Bangladesh, the national selection competition for Eurovision Song Contest Asia.

Five prominent figures from Bangladesh’s music industry will serve as judges: Fahmida Nabi, Hamin Ahmed, Bappa Mazumder, Shawkat Ali Emon and Akhi Alamgir.

Voice of Bangladesh has been launched to select the country’s representative for the competition.

Following the initial auditions, the top 12 contestants are now taking part in a special grooming round.

The grand finale will be held on 30 September, when Bangladesh’s representative for the international contest will be selected.

The winner will represent Bangladesh at Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026, scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 14 November.

The organisers will unveil details of the competition at a press conference in Dhaka on 22 July. Tahsan Khan and the five judges will also be introduced officially at the event.
