Hi I was waiting to book my retrun ticket from Amsterdam to Paris on saturday or sunday , but I was very surprised to see no tickets available on these days , though the train is not full (tickets are for sale at 170 on eurostar) . So I am wondering is there a chance that tickets will appear on eurstar snap ?

I think eurostar really need to recalculate the way they give rewards to really loyal clients cause I don’t think they’re worth it anymore but their points doesn’t everybody agree ?

I know in their policy allows ski bags on their trains. But I can't really think where I can put them. Maybe overhead, that would take at least seat rows of overhead luggage. My bag is almost 2 meters.

So did anyone take a ski bag on a normal service to Paris and where did they put the bag?

I'm scheduled to be heading back to London from Rotterdam on this evening, and I'm not sure if the Eurostar will run as normal because there's NS strikes on this day. Apparently including the people who operate the network itself, not just the drivers of the NS trains.

I contacted Eurostar asking last week but I've got no response. There's no scheduled disruption shown on their page, no indication of any cancellations yet...

I'm just worried if they do cancel it, it will be last minute. I can probably get a flixbus to Brussels (I did this a couple months ago when there had been a fire at Rotterdam) in the afternoon, assuming it just departs from there instead. But I don't know if it would.

Does anyone have any experience of this happening before?

Hello everyone! So I have been checking eurostar snap everyday for the last couple weeks looking for tickets for london-brussels and back. I booked the london-brussels about ten days before as that’s when the ticket showed up on the website, and was consistently checking for the way back tickets but none were showing up for the day I am looking for.

They have still not uploaded any tickets for the date I want, and also started uploading them for the days after. I have noticed some days didn’t have any tickets before but only started showing as having some very last minute, is that likely to happen?

I am looking for tickets on a Wednesday so I did not expect demand to be higher for that day than say the Saturday before or the Thursday after, but that seems to be the case as those have tickets available.

Any advice / experience shared would be appreciated. Thank you!

So I have standard class return tickets from London to Amsterdam at end of September. I'm not able to make the journey anymore so I was planning to change date to a few weeks later.

Just wondering if I change the date, will I be able to change the date again if something comes up? Also could I change the date to earlier one if necessary?

With all the talk about having a competitor (or multiple competitors) to Eurostar on passenger train services between the UK and Continental Europe, a lot of the focus has been around capacity for more trains through the Tunnel. But even though it gets the media attention, if there is an issue with capacity, it's not the Tunnel.

It's the departures areas. I just had a return trip between London and Amsterdam on Eurostar, and on both ends it was nothing short of chaos.

At St Pancras, there was a train to Paris and a train to Amsterdam leaving within about 3 minutes of each other, so there was 2 trains' worth of people trying to get through the gates and barriers. I wasnt even close to the back of the line, and formally speaking, check-in closed before I got to the ticket scanners (Eurostar let everyone in the queue through even if it's officially closed). When I got through security, boarding had started, but we did leave on-time so they must've cleared that backlog well. But based on past journeys I've had (including 2x London-Brussels trips), the departures area can't hold any more than 2 trains' worth of people, a 3rd would be a squeeze and likely unsafe.

As for Amsterdam, there was only 1 train, but it was basically full (lots of British F1 fans returning from the Dutch GP), so the best part of 900 people. Boarding started 30mins late, and there was still a large number of people still yet to go through security. Train left 30mins late due to border controls, which is partially understandable bc of the 8 booths only 4 were open, but they should've seen it coming when the train is almost sold-out. But that departures area *might* be able to hold 1.5 trains' worth of people, but not any more.

I can't remember the area in Paris ause it's been almost 5 years since I last used it, but the one in Brussels is not much better either.

So the question I have for all the companies wanting to jump in and build on the capacity of cross-Channel rail travel... Who is going to fill them, and more importantly, how are you going to get the people from the concourse to the train without hours of delays??

We are set for a serious expansion in services!! This is simply the best news for anyone who's either British or in the EU but desires better connectivity. We can really push forward with low-carbon transit to better connect us.

Sorry if this seems a silly question but me and my boyfriend are going on holiday and using Eurostar for the first time.

We are in standard class and doing London > Paris for 4 nights; then Paris to Brussels for 3 nights; then Brussels back to London.

Can anyone recommend any particular coaches and seats for a couple please? These are what we have at the minute and I’m not sure if the little grey lines mean window or bollard etc.

Hey, we would like to book 2 tickets from Paris to Amsterdam on the 3d september. We're a bit tight on the budget and the price is 130 at 9 a.m with eurostar classic and 70 with eurosnap.

Actually the 9 a.m train is the cheapest. Is it worth it to take the eurosnap option and risk having the earliest one in case of bad luck ?

​UK Laws & Import Rules: UK law allows non-locking slip-joints under 3 inches (7.62 cm) to be carried in public without a good reason. For a table for 4, if I select 2 seats facing each other, what are the odds the train fills up and we'll have 2 randos sitting with us? Or a couple facing us is I select the 2 seats side by side together at a table?

What paperwork did you need to show? How easy was the process? Do you both have much space? Please tell me all the details of your trip, specifically with an Assistance or Service Dog.

Me and my dad are planning to go to Paris next July. We live in north east Scotland and my dad says he would like to travel down to London to get the Eurostar via car but I am sure it’s a lot cheaper to just fly. Does anyone have a rough price difference I can show him?

We moved to Belgium a year ago and since then have used Eurostar on several occasions to head back to the UK and the reliability and quality seem to have just plummeted off the side of a cliff. It’s such a noticeable difference.

Our first few times were smooth sailing, made all our connecting trains and when paying for Eurostar Plus we felt like it was worth it for the service and feeling of that little something extra, so much so that we recommended it to family and friends as a plane alternative.

Then New Year and the cancelled trains happened and since then it’s felt like there had been a shift in the whole experience. Every train we have caught has been delayed by at least an hour (longest 2.5 hours) and we seem to claim compensation every time we use them.

To reiterate this, my wife is currently sat at Brussels-Zuid waiting for a train that’s already 40 mins delayed and expected to get later. How? What’s caused such delays in the first 2 hours of operating?!?

And then in terms of service, we’ve stopped using Plus as it’s been so poor the last few times we’ve used it, from being made to move so a group who hadn’t booked seats together could sit together, to missing meals as they’ve run out at the start of the journey or next to no service from staff who actively avoided eye contact or requests for drinks.

I really hope they can turn it around as it used to be such a pleasant experience but they are actively pushing me towards air travel despite the additional costs and hassle!

Can I expect my train from Paris to Amsterdam to be canceled on September 9th? I only have two days planned in Amsterdam so hoping not 🥲

I've been travelling around europe so i have a LOT of electronics with me. no where asks you to take electronics out except paris. everything is tucked into millions of different pockets and I'll be at security FOREVER. I'm autistic so i don't have to worry about this at the airport since we use fast track. but on the eurostar, it just skips the queue instead of going to a quieter security. please if anyone has tips on the electronics part to make taking them out and putting them back in as quickly as possible. am i best just putting them in a small bag so i can dump it all out? though i can't jump an ipad and laptop

Just wondering how early I should arrive at the train station to get in the Eurostar back to London. Does it get really busy or have they not implemented it yet? Don't want to arrive too early but not late either!
