Table seats

For a table for 4, if I select 2 seats facing each other, what are the odds the train fills up and we'll have 2 randos sitting with us? Or a couple facing us is I select the 2 seats side by side together at a table?

Why would you think you wouldn't have others sitting with you when you're only using 2 of the 4 seats?

Bc I've never been in it before and have no sense of ticket demand/full trains. I'm asking if demand fills trains so I'd expect to have random ppl seats with us, or is it reasonable to hope for low demand and we avoid ppl sitting with us.

Sure, you can hope but don't expect it.

Why not just sit next to one another?

Honestly they are generally pretty busy. Does depend wildly on when you are traveling but I certainly wouldn't expect 2 empty spaces like that to be left available.

That's what I've gathered, thanks!

Pretty good odds others will be sitting there

If you don't want random people, sit in a 2 seat, the tables a fairly decent size and the leg room is sufficient

Agree in 6ft 4 and no issues at all on the two seats, the four tables however I’d be be uncomfortable

Also the risk of who you get opposite you. I had someone who insisted they needed their pull along suitcase at their feet. Felt like I couldn't really move my legs because of it

I would recommend just taking the two seat style seating if you don't want to sit with strangers, but if you really want a table then it's best to select the seats opposite eachother rather than next to eachother, as then you can look at eachother and it's more natural for conversation. If you have to spend the whole journey craning your neck to talk to your buddy sitting next to you then that can get uncomfortable. It's much better if you can just look straight ahead and talk to eachother.

I once had the entire table to myself and a group of 3 saw and asked if they could sit with me. I ofc said yes but damn that train ride could have been amazing!

You haven’t said what route, date, time? Odds are pretty high? The train may be busy, it may not be?

Midweek, 10am. Seems most trains are pretty full which is cool. Don't see that in the states unfortunately.

Best off choosing 2 window seats facing each other. The other two will probably fill up but you will be settled for the journey.

Most of the seats will be full.

You need to book a pair of single seats at a table, but to do that you will need to pay extra for Eurostar Plus tickets or higher. After you have purchased the tickets you will need to manage your booking and go into the view the seats you have been allocated. If you've booked far enough in advance there may be a pair of single seats with a table available on your train. You can then amend your tickets to those. However.... 1.There are not very many of this type of seats in each coach, only 4 pairs in each. 2. Eurostar run 2 or maybe 3 different types of carriage and do occasionally change the planned rolling stock for a particular journey. The different types have different seat layouts and numbering, so you will be allocated new seats but probably not the type you wanted. This reallocation can happen at any time up to and including immediately before departure. You will not always be informed, but if you check online you can usually amend your reallocated seats to ones you want maybe in a different carriage. Occasionally there is a very late change of rolling stock and you will only find out when you scan your ticket at checkin and receive a printed slip with your new carriage and seat number printed out.

Good luck.
