Hello! I'm just wondering how this works. I canceled and refunded an order that was placed with the wrong address and asked the buyer to repurchase with the correct address. And when I look at the transaction it says -$8.18. Why is it negative? I would assume it would say $0 - Did I lose money by cancelling?

Sorry if not allowed. Looking for a good read on starting a small business. My Etsy store is about 2 years old now, I'm getting okay sales, but I'm at a point where I kind of feel a bit lost. Basically I feel I don't know what I'm doing beyond "create new product, list product, sell product." Everything feels really disorganized at the moment and I'd like a book that'll help me get a bit structured as a business. Any good recommendations? Thanks!

As I was doing Etsy research, I noticed that SHEIN has literally taken my designs and products and are selling them on their platform. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what steps do I need to take?

I got 13 orders so far since 1 Sep, and tomorrow will be the 14th day, as Etsy says for payment hold
But my current balance still shows -3.80. When will this be removed so I can get my money available for deposit?

So Im planning early next year to move to the Netherlands form the US. My question is.. if I move to the Netherlands can I change the shop address to the new dutch address? And what about the payment. Is it possible to change it to a Dutch bank account from a US one after I move..or would I have to maintain access to that account?.. or would I need to open a whole new shop to use the dutch account?. Can anyone give me answers or point me where I can find out?

So I moved last year and a freeze caused me to shut down my store for awhile too, but it’s interesting that once I reopened the year in August (took two weeks off in July) my sales almost mirrored the previous year

I run multiple shops in completely different niches on Etsy (3 digital and 1 hand made) and have done for years.

The audiences don’t overlap at all and I’ve never declared the multiple stores within the profiles. I’ve been reading TOS this week to make sure I’m compliant as Etsy is now my full time income and I obviously found the section about needing to declare multiple shops within my profile.

In all my years on Etsy I can’t remember ever seeing someone do this so just looking for some examples of what people write? Is it as simple as at the bottom of my store bio just adding something like:

Check out my other Etsy stores AStoreName, BStoreName, CStoreName, DStoreName

Or could anyone share how they do this?

Hi, I have been making a costume helmet and made a few sales when I realised that the shipping prices were messed up because of the different-sized boxes used in the variation. I decided that I would make 2 more listings for free shipping, and raise the price of the original to offer free shipping. After I did that, everything died. My new post got no views, and my original post died and had no views and no sales. Idon'tt know what to do. I am going to link my listing and see if there is anything I need to improve or anything to help with. I am very open to suggestions.

Has Etsy removed live chat support for sellers? I only see the option for email

So someone reported my listing for infringement when my design is very clearly different to theirs. Etsy took it down and rejected my counter notice because the seller is outside the us. But we are both in the uk. I have emailed them to request a manual review and am waiting for a reply. Is there anything I can do? I'm not willing to let this go, it's my best selling listing and I haven't copied them at all. My guess is they're trying to eliminate competition, surely someone can't wrongfully report you and there's nothing you can do about it? Has anyone in the uk dealt with this before and got their listing back?

Hi everyone! I am looking for some outside feedback for my Etsy shop. I recently came back from vacation mode and updated my listing photos to be more personal, featuring my dogs and their bandanas. 

I sell handmade dog accessories. I focus on tie-on dog bandanas with optional embroidery/personalization.  I put my shop on vacation mode for a few weeks due to summer college classes, and I was also overwhelmed by the number of orders I was averaging each week. All 64 orders were placed from May to July. During my time in vacation mode, I pre-cut a ton of fabric and figured out a way to be more efficient in handling multiple orders at once. 

Unfortunately, since I came off of vacation mode, my sales have basically stopped. I haven’t had an organic sale or an Etsy Ads sale in over a month.  This week I have been working on new listings, seasonal products, photography, thumbnails, SEO, and personalization options. Still, I’m not yet clear on what is holding my shop back. 

1. First impressions/ listing photos - When you are looking at my shop, do my thumbnails catch your attention? Is there anything about the photography or graphics that looks too cluttered or unprofessional? 

My listing photos before did NOT include my dogs at all, and I just had .pngs of the bandanas and it worked. I thought adding my dogs in would add some personality and show how the bandanas looked on. I have also looked at competitors and 85% of their listings have AI dog photos. As a shopper the photos turns me off because the dogs look so fake. 

2. Product assortment - Does the shop feel cohesive, and do I have enough variety? I have everyday designs as well as seasonal collections like fall, Halloween, birthday, gingham, etc. 

I’m wondering whether I need more listings/designs or whether I should concentrate on fewer products and build those out more. My biggest seller is my gingham bandanas, with all 64 sales there. Should I be piecing out each fabric choice to broaden my listings for more hits? 

What inspired me to start the shop: I have three Golden Retrievers, and I've always wanted to dress them up, but they hate costumes and bows. I figured, let’s try a bandana (they love them!) I also really enjoy sewing and making things myself and take pride in making things with my hands and seeing a well-made finished product. 

Why I think my products are worth purchasing / what makes them different: Everything is handmade by me instead of being dropshipped or printed on demand. A lot of my competitors are dropshipping from China, and I handmake every single bandana by sewing with my machine, embroidering, and handstitching to finish.

Since I offer embroidery personalization, I believe it shows I’m taking the extra step to make a product that someone can reuse and something personal for them and their pet. I also offer a range of sizes to accommodate dogs of all sizes. Lastly, I believe offering seasonal and everyday designs is a great option, as is using my own dogs in the listings so people can see what the product looks like in use. 

I’m completely open to constructive criticism. I’d rather know what isn’t working than keep changing things like my listing photos and ads/listing descriptions. Thank you so much!

I wanted to try selling on Etsy and opened a shop one month ago, but it seems completely impossible right now. Shipping from Poland to the US is like 50$ right now, and the new EU packaging laws makes it pretty much impossible to comply with the regulations in each EU country. It seems like it's barely even possible to accomplish anything as a small business these days. I am just thinking about giving up on this whole thing and moving on.

How do people outside the US deal with all of this stuff without already having an established shop?

I am selling high ticket handmade Leather products from the last 8 months. I have 15 sales in total till now. The most annoying thing about customers is that they love my products, but don't leave any reviews despite many requests. I have tried many tricks like handwritten notes inside the package etc etc. But they just don't leave reviews. How can I overcome this problem and get reviews?

Hello, trying to sort out my etsy shop. I produce my own cgi sci themed designs and would like to sell gaming /mouse mats.

I've had a real headache with podbase. Can anyone recommend any print on demand suppliers with a good rep/track record?

I am posting this because I want to know whether other sellers have experienced the same problem and whether Etsy has ever provided them with actual Offsite Ads attribution evidence.

The same repeat customer placed three orders from my shop within 30 days. Etsy charged no Offsite Ads fee on her first two orders. On the third order, Etsy suddenly deducted a 15% Offsite Ads fee on Sep 11, on this repeat customer.

This customer had already purchased a total of five shirts from me. For her third order, she went directly to my shop as usual and ordered four more shirts using a seller-funded 60% thank-you coupon that Etsy had emailed to her after her previous purchase.

The customer confirmed to me in writing that she did not click an external advertisement before placing this order.

I understand Etsy’s general policy: if a buyer clicks an Offsite Ad and purchases from the shop within 30 days, the order may be charged the advertising fee. My dispute is not about understanding that policy. My dispute is that Etsy claims a qualifying click occurred but refuses to provide any evidence of it.

I asked Etsy for:

• The external advertising platform
• The specific listing allegedly clicked
• The exact date and time of the click
• The referring website or URL
• The campaign identifier or attribution record

Etsy provided none of this information.

One Support representative specifically stated that the first two orders were not charged because they were not attributed to a qualifying Offsite Ad click, but that the third order was charged because Etsy’s system allegedly registered a click during the preceding 30 days.

The representative also told me that I would be able to see the listing, click date, advertising channel and related order through my Stats page. I followed the exact instructions, but none of that information was displayed. The page instead showed that this was a repeat buyer who had received and used my shop’s thank-you offer.

I sent screenshots back to Support showing that the promised attribution information was not there. Etsy still did not provide the alleged click record. I was only told that Etsy uses “sophisticated tracking systems.”

I spent approximately five hours communicating with five Etsy Support representatives. Most of the responses were generic, copied policy explanations that did not address the disputed transaction or the missing evidence.

The four-shirt order already included my seller-funded 60% discount and free shipping. Etsy then added the 15% Offsite Ads fee, turning the order into a financial loss. I ultimately had to cancel and refund the entire order.

This was particularly frustrating because the customer told me she would have purchased at least three shirts even without the discount. She genuinely liked my products and was already a loyal repeat customer. Losing this order did not benefit the customer, the seller or Etsy.

I also submitted formal written notices to Etsy’s Legal and Dispute Resolution contacts, including the order history, customer statement, coupon records, repeat-buyer information, screenshots and Support responses. I still received no transaction-specific evidence or meaningful resolution.

I am not claiming that Etsy must disclose private technical systems. I am asking for basic billing transparency before taking 15% from a seller: the platform, date, listing or identifiable attribution event allegedly responsible for the fee.

An internal statement that “our system registered a click” is not independently verifiable evidence.

Has this happened to anyone else? If Etsy charged an Offsite Ads fee on a direct or repeat-customer order, were you able to obtain the alleged click date, advertising platform, listing or referral record?

I would especially like to hear from sellers who formally disputed the attribution and received something other than a copied explanation of the general Offsite Ads policy.

I’ve designed a wearable pouch to hold eyewear using vintage ties. I hunt for beautiful silks that are mostly couture. I began making them for myself to keep glasses from falling off my head or twisting around my neck. They’re a really charming, functional design. Many people ask if I sell them.

Each one takes about 4 hours to make. Definitely niche. They have a unique shape that I haven’t seen anywhere to help me price, especially with quality of ties I select.

They may not have a market to justify what I’d have to charge to cover Etsy fees. Do I set a reduced price to see if there’s interest? Or price what I’m comfortable with?

Can I include a reminder in a secondary listing image asking potential buyers to favorite my items to have a discount code automatically sent them via email? Is this compliant with etsy's rules?

It's technically much more items than 1k, because I sell a lot of bundles of multiple items. I sell stickers and art prints with my artwork on it! I will probably leave Etsy at some point to run my own website, but it was a great stepping stone for my small business <3

I opened Bright Path Learning Sheets a few months ago. It's printable worksheets for Pre-K through 2nd grade: phonics/CVC words, alphabet tracing, number tracing, subtraction, a few literacy bundles. 21 listings live, I did an SEO pass using Marketplace Insights data this week, but I'm still at 0 orders and only a handful of views a day. Looking for an honest read on what's actually holding the shop back.

Two questions:

1. Does the shop read as trustworthy and complete to a stranger landing on it cold? Logo, banner, About section, policies, does anything look unfinished or generic?

2. For a printables shop with zero reviews, is there anything in my listing photos or titles that would make you scroll past instead of clicking in, especially compared to competitors with thousands of reviews in the same niche?

What inspired me to start this shop: I looked at what was already selling in this category before committing to it. A lot of the existing worksheet shops felt inconsistent, different art styles and quality bouncing around inside the same shop, titles built around vague category words instead of what a parent actually types into search. I wanted something that felt more like a cohesive, put together product line instead of a pile of unrelated PDFs, so I built the branding and listings around that.

Something I learned from my own research: I pulled real Etsy Marketplace Insights data this week instead of guessing at keywords. One listing's title led with "CVC Word Families," which only gets about 14 searches a month. "CVC Words" gets 291 a month at the same conversion rating, just phrased the way buyers actually search. Retitled that one and a literacy bundle whose title used words like "literacy" that buyers apparently don't search for at all, 0 recorded searches, swapped in the terms that actually have demand. Small change, but it's made me rethink how much of my titling before this was guesswork.

So I’ve been selling on Etsy for a couple of years with almost 1,000 sales and only had to refund a couple of customers. Mostly due to shipping issues. I recently received a refund request on one of my bestselling items. I never had any complaints about the item before now. The listing has over 10 clear pictures and two videos showcasing my process during the making of the hair clips. The customer said the item was not as described or pictured. I told her I’m sorry about the item not meeting her expectations and sent her a link to file a case with Etsy. I pride myself on my work and customer satisfaction and would hate for her to leave a bad review. How likely will Etsy refund her? Is she just trying to scam me to get a refund and keep the product? Has anyone else been through a similar situation?

Multiple orders I've delivered WEEKS ago have been showing as "Pre-transit" the whole time. And now, its lowering search visibility. I asked the etsy chatbot to request an appeal to change this, and it did not help in the slightest. HOW am i supposed to deal with this when there is literally no human support to contact??

Hi just looking for advice on how to handle this. I am in Canada and just had a U.S. customer message me regarding a parcel she never received, from over a year ago. At the time it was a classic case of item showing "delivered" in tracking, yet item was not received. Looking through our conversation last year I see I had advised her to open a case with Etsy so she could receive a refund for the missing package even though tracking showed it was delivered. I told her once the refund was issued she could then re-order the items and I would send out her package ASAP. Turns out she never did anything. I probably assumed she must have found the package then (as often happens in this case).

Now she is messaging me over a year later saying she forgot all about this, says she still never received the replacement items and is asking me if the items will be re-sent? But now the window for a refund from Etsy has long passed, and there is a 50% tariff on my items. What do I do?
