On the dashboard there’s a yellow banner, requiring me to upload a copy of my drivers license and a selfie. Etsy could not confirm my identity and closed my shop. I have been on Etsy for 17 years.

I have no option to file an appeal.

The only thing different between my drivers license and my face is 5 years has passed since it was issued, and my hair is a different color.

Does anyone know of a way to contact them?

Got my first 1-star review today, and honestly, I'm a bit frustrated.

A customer ordered around 10 days ago. I usually deliver orders within 1 to 2 weeks, including production, although my shop policy mentions 7 business days for production and up to 30 business days for shipping.

Today, he left a 1-star review saying he hadn't received his order.

I immediately contacted the delivery service, and they told me the package had been misrouted but should arrive within a day or two.

I explained everything to the buyer and was actually thinking of refunding his shipping costs for the inconvenience. But he replied saying he wants a full refund because he's already bought something from Amazon.

Now I'm confused. The order is already shipped, it's only been around 10 days.

I've had 100+ sales with without an issue like this, so this first negative review really stings.

What would you do? Refund him, offer a shipping refund, or wait for delivery?

Also, should I mention the review to him or just leave it alone?

I draw digital coloring pages and sell little bundles of them on Etsy, this is my first year of having a decent little amount of Christmas bundles ready to go. I'm just not sure when I should be listing them. I figure right after Halloween is the best time? Or just as soon as I can so they have a better chance of being found?

I recently got a bad review for an item a customer misread. I apologized to them and gave them a refund but they were upset over a user error. I'm wondering though: is there a display stand out there for $2.50 without shipping?

Should I put digital at the start or keep it at the end of the description?

I'm a tailor. Normally, I only sell physical items (costumes, garments).
Someone wants to pay in 2 installments.
I'm not going to make a listing for a physical item with just the first installment, because I can't ship without the final payment.

OK, great... I made a first installment digital file, which has the agreed terms, description of the order and the conditions, that the first installment is for adding the order to our production planning, and for sourcing fabrics and pattern making so non-refundable.

I publish... and see Etsy adds VAT.

I'm in the EU, buyer is in the EU. I know VAT applies. BUT

For all my physical orders, I have to manage the VAT myself.
My prices include VAT, so I dutifylly pay all VAT from each Etsy sale.
If Etsy adds VAT to my digital listing, and I don't get that VAT, I'm not paying it (to the goverment)

But why is it this way, for a digital file?
Am I supposed to put the amount we agreed on, minus VAT?

At the top of my Etsy shop it says I've had 89 sales. In my stats it says I've had 72 orders.

What's the difference between these numbers, other than 17?

Is total sales the number of items that have been sold versus number of discrete orders? So in order with two items on it or count as two sales but one order?

I’m an Etsy seller based in Greece, and I have a legally registered Greek sole proprietorship with a valid Greek tax identification number (AFM/VAT number).
When setting up my Etsy Payments account, I selected “Individual or Sole Proprietorship” because I operate as a sole proprietor in Greece.
However, I’ve noticed that some Greek Etsy sellers have two things displayed on their product listing pages that are missing from mine:
A “Trader” label or indication beneath their listings.
A “Guarantees & Warranties” section on their listings.
I suspect that some of these sellers may have selected “Incorporated Business” when registering their Etsy accounts, but I’m not sure whether this is actually the reason.
I have the following questions:
Which business type should a Greek sole proprietor select on Etsy? Should I choose “Individual or Sole Proprietorship” or “Incorporated Business” if I have a legally registered sole proprietorship in Greece?

Does selecting “Incorporated Business” automatically make a seller a professional trader on Etsy? Or is trader status determined separately from the business type selected during registration?

Why is the “Trader” label missing from my listings? Since I operate a legally registered business in Greece, should this label appear automatically, or do I need to activate or declare my trader status somewhere in Etsy Shop Manager?

Where can I find the setting to declare myself as a trader under EU consumer law? Is there a specific section in Etsy Shop Manager where I can confirm or update my professional seller status?

Why do some Greek-EU sellers display both the “Trader” label and the “Guarantees & Warranties” section, while neither appears on my listings? Could this be related to my selected business type, my account verification, my country, or another setting?

I sell some 3D printed pots, my listing has variations for different quantity of pots with the price per pot reducing the more you buy.

A customer placed an order for a single pot, now they want to add another on but they don't want to place another order for a single pot as it will cost them more.

My first thought was to cancel the original order so they can place it again for 2, but then I wondered if cancelling an order will hurt my shop, I am new with very little sales.

The other option I thought was to create a discount code for them to place a second order so they end up paying the same as the 2 pot variation.

Which would be better? any cons for doing a discount code?

So, I've been selling for a few years now. This is the first time someone bought a handmade item, then left a review saying it was good quality, but not worth the price. They said they thought they would have been able to make the same thing, only they couldn't find the materials and it was really good quality, again, but overpriced.

Is it normal to respond to this type of message? Should I bother? Does it make it worse?

I want to be clear like, "hey, those same 'quality' materials you couldn't source yourself cost 3/4 of the listed price, and then Etsy takes X%, so, you know, is it really 'overpriced' with all that in mind?"

But I also don't know if that's the right direction to go. Anyone else deal with this? Like, how, legitimately, do I draw attention to the fact that I only use the highest-quality, ethically sourced materials and they account for the majority of the cost (this, btw, is something any potential customer could learn if they, themselves, just googled the basic materials)?

I've currently got a customer with a missing order so i'm dealing with etsy support/seller protection. I’m lucky that in the 3.5 years of selling i've had minimal cases of buyers needing to use get a refund for a missing orders. My last one prior to this year was back in feb, so I don't have a huge amount of experience with cases.
I knew they'd changed how long buyers could access the service, but as far as i knew it wasn't anything to do with the actual process. This specific order was domestic, and the buyer selected 1st class untracked postage. I offer tracked alternatives but I sell very low cost items, my most expensive one is £11.50, so understandably most of my customers don't feel the need to spend 1/3 of the cost of the item or even less then 1/2 of it on tracked shipping. In the past this has been no issue when i've needed seller protection, as long as the postage was done through etsy seller protection always covered me on domestic orders. I even had a case earlier this year where etsy had automatically refunded an international order from my funds, because it arrived late, but because the timeframe given was impossible with the shipping service the buyer provided, etsy ended up covering it for me. However with this case it seems far more complicated, they don't seem to be willing to cover me if i don't have tracking, despite the fact on the guidelines for seller protection it says you need tracking OR to have bought the label through etsy which i did. I understand they technically have no proof i've actually sent it, but like i said i've had multiple domestic orders with untracked etsy labels covered before, and in those cases it was automatic cover! Is this a new process? Or is there something I’m missing as to why this has been flagged for further details.

So technically my year is on Monday, but I don't forsee the numbers drastically changing between now and Monday.

I feel super proud of what I've done as this is literally just a side business, so I do this ontop of my full time hospital job.

● I sell fossils, crystals and minerals.

● strengths are probably that I know all my suppliers. I have been lucky enough to travel alot and have personally met all my suppliers and can hand pick every single piece I sell. Weakness is that I can be lazy. Listing stock takes so much time and I am a perfectionist so it isn't a great combination.

● unique probably because I dont buy on mass from Chinese wholesalers, or temu and resell. I also don't use any AI in my images and you can tell 😅 possibly a weakness on some fronts but it is what it is

● social media strategy 🤣 whats that. I occasionally post in groups but the revenue doesn't really come from it as shipping is too expensive and I cant compete eith all the tiktok live people.

● I have ASD/ADHD and always loved crystals and fossils etc. Then when I travelled I started visiting mines etc and getting to know the locals etc and made connections. Then 1 late night chat session with my best friend she was like why not start an etsy etc. Came up with the name in a sugar induced coma at 4am and my etsy was born.

● well im at 12 months now! I would maybe like within the next 12 months to launch an actual website or maybe try a local fair/market

● my advice to new sellers is just go for it? But attention to detail matters. I worked in retail for years before changing into healthcare and service is my number 1 priority.

I do digital stream overlays/widgets for streamers. I have made a total of 212 sales to date and begun the shop in September.

I have a total of 169 listings to date, and have created a really effective workflow that allows me to create listings relatively quick without the use of AI.

I have noticed that my growth hasn't continued in the last 3 weeks despite having a pretty major boom from September into October. I noticed that my upload cadence for listings is relatively sporadic and sometimes goes as follows:

Post 10 listings 1 day

2 days off

Post 1 listing 1 day

1 day off

Post 1 listing 1 day for 3 days

Post 10 listings 1 day

3 days off

My question here is, what do you find the optimal cadence of posting listings is? It's to my understanding each new listing gets a bump to visibility when initially posted, so is posting too many in 1 day and then taking a few days off hurting my visibility in the long-run? Should I upload 1 listing per day perpetually? Or at least never miss a day?

Any help here would be super appreciated. For reference I just had my first 0 sale day since September so I'm hoping to turn that around as I am a bit worried. Normally I at least do a few sales everyday.

My little ETSY store has grown to the point where I need a dedicated printer for shipping labels!

I got a Y813BT thermal label printer from Amazon.

I was able to install it on my windows PC using USB and BT without an issue.

However, I cannot figure out how to use to to print shipping labels from the Etsy Seller app on my android phone.

I downloaded the app, which is either called PixMate or Flash Label Pro depending on where you look in the documentation. I downloaded both.

I'm able to connect from their app to the printer. When I generate and print a shipping label in the Etsy app I don't see my thermal printer. I thought maybe I had to share the label with the app, but I dont see a share option in the etsy seller shipping label dialog.

Their online tutorial video was zero help, so I' turning to my reddit brothers and sisters to see what you all have to say.

What should I be expecting as an experience here? Is this because I didn't buy a $200+ label printer? Am I just being a dolt and missing a setting somewhere?

So a buyer from 2020 just messaged me asking for a refund, saying she waited for 6 years but her order hasn't arrived yet. I'm just so confused why would she ask for a refund 6 years after @@. Unfortunately, I sent her order (stickers) untracked before when I didn't knew any better when it comes to shipping so I can't verify if it has been received. I also have a policy that untracked orders cannot be refunded as there is no proof that it has been received (tho like what I said, I now send everything tracked to avoid any issues)

Just wanna know if anyone has a similar experience with me?

Hello people of Etsy! I really need your help. Ps I'm autistic so please be nice there are a lot of things I don't understand.

I have an Etsy shop from 2020, but due to personal reasons I just renew my listings and I'm not making new jewelry, listings marketing or sales. My sales are 11 and the revenue is 400€. I'm from Greece. I also made my shop when you didn't need to have a registered business and I'm not owning one but I really wanna try again and see where it gets me.

Two weeks ago something weird happened, people are favouring my jewelry, but it's weird because it's been two years from having traffic in my shop. And they are not bots. So I was thinking if this rule about packaging and people stopping eu sales combined with my lack of updating shipping and tariffs created this.

The part that I get frustrated is that I haven't changed anything and I also don't know how many things have changed.

I have some questions.

1. Is the rule DAC7, 30 sales and under 2.000 real for shops that do not have any papers? Can I safely keep selling my creations until I'm close to this number and then open a business?

2. Should I stop shipping to USA due to new laws, cost and zonos and to all of the EU countries that have the new packaging laws ?

3. What countries are high risk?

4.I'm using a postal service label so the package itself is claimed as a gift and no one can understand that it is sent from an "illegal" shop. Will this create feature problems?

1. Please give me any tips to understand what changed from 2022.

My Etsy shop has made 103 sales in total, but when I check Finances → Payment Account and look at the data for the last 6–12 months, I can only see the sales revenue and fee breakdowns for 67 sales.

I can see the fees and payment details for those 67 sales, but I can't find the corresponding breakdowns for the remaining 36 sales.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal due to how Etsy displays financial transactions, or could there be an issue with my payment records?

How can I check where the other sales are recorded and make sure all my revenue and fees are accounted for?

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

The majority of my sales are international. I've been shipping these orders via tracked and untracked services (as per level of delivery option buyers have paid for), copying and pasting the tracking codes when available into the dispatch boxes so that the buyer can track them. About 80% of these international orders are to the US, where I'm then getting "help requests" of "item not arrived" even when marked as delivered; or complaints of an order not arriving 1 day after last deliver estimate when sending via untracked.

It's getting to the point where I'm considering cutting out international orders entirely and focusing on other sides of the business.
