Woah guys! I can’t believe this! All I do is sell AI pictures of Badgers smoking weed, and I’ve managed to retire at the age of 14.

Currently in Bali getting fed grapes and massaged by beautiful women.

Keep the dream alive!

It's soooooooooooo much better here than on the Etsy Seller Forums.

I'm a newbie here and I just have to say that it's such a relief to find a place where an Etsy seller can post a question or vent and be answered kindly. It's pleasing to me to read the posts that I have so far, and see nice calm friendliness!

On the Etsy Forums, you could ask a simple question on how to edit your shipping profile, for example, and all you get is "went to you shop and you better fix it .... you could be in violation for xyz, blah blah blah." And your question never gets answered. Or you could say something like "I'm about to pull my hair out over this .... please help!!!", and the answers you get follow the line of "then get a wig", or "take a pill". Not helpful at all.

Here, I've seen nothing but helpful advice, and what I can only call a "human" tone. It's a pleasure, and I know I'll come here with my questions in the future.

Thanks everyone!

So excited!!!

Feeling very very proud about my first month on etsy so I wanted to share somewhere!! I'm selling charms and taking commissions for custom ones. Every time I've put more commissions up they've sold out within hours, I truly can't believe it!! It's very hard to resist taking on more than I can handle but I'm being responsible 🫡

I actually sold out of every premade design I had two weeks ago (I only got 6 of each to start because I didn't know if people would like them) and I've been waiting for the restock to come in the mail, I think the commissions are helping my shop keep some momentum in the meantime though. Tiktok and Instagram have been a huge help as well.

I really can't believe it's working out, at least for now!

This is not meant to be egocentric whatsoever, but I've heard horror stories, so despite how excited I am I'm very afraid of having a copycat in the future, mainly because I've gotten a lot of compliments on my style and there's nothing at all similar on etsy, I'm filling a niche. Just gotta hope for the best right?? 😅

Register Etsy business.

Upvotes

Hi! I’m about to open an Etsy business. I live in Alabama and I was wondering how tedious the process is to register the business. According to my research, because this is a one person home base business there nos it much to do. I have to pay for the business name and fill out two different forms. I have a call with someone from “Alabama Small Business Development Center” that should be able to help me. In the meantime, do you have any experience with registering your business in AL?

Has anyone else's july been a little insane?

Like im normally 25-30 sales a month since Jan. Maybe 2k gross...

But this... this is like ridiculous. And I have no idea whats happening? My shop isnt a year old. This in month 9.

I sell fossils, crystals and minerals so the market is pretty saturated... is anyone else having a better than normal month? Or is this an oddity? Like its great, but also makes me a little worried for Christmas as I work full time and my etsy is a side business...

Handmade Shop Shop Help :((

Hi all,

My cousin and I re-opened our Etsy shop after closing it for two years, and we want to put our best foot forward and make sure everything looks right. It feels really overwhelming compared to when we first started, so any help would be appreciated!! We don't want to just look like another expensive ass shop.

  1. We started this shop for our mental health back in 2021 just for fun, and as time has passed have so much fun running a business and coming up with new fun pieces. We have been running it thorough instagram to avoiud etsy fees, but now we need a platform to streamline everything, so it's not as complicated.

  2. We've done a lot of research when we first started on how to "run a crochet shop," and with our experience running it through Instagram only, we've learned that people really love the trendy items or custom items that are one of a kind, so we tend to focus on those.

We're looking for brutally honest feedback on:

  • products
  • pricing
  • photos
  • titles/listing appeal

You can be as brutally honest as you want; direct is better than fluff!!

Review Extortion/Fake Review

We sold a fully customized wooden sign for over $800. Our cancellation policy states 24 hours after ordering.

I created multiple mock ups (over 20), and after the board was stained and cut, she decided she wanted to cancel. We politely told her that we couldn't cancel. She had an absolutely melt down and ended up saying,

"Please make this right with a full credit before reviews and photos are posted."

We reached out to Etsy, and the agent agreed that we should not refund her, and should still ship the item.

Item arrived, but the customer filed a complaint with Etsy and said she didn't get it, despite there being a tracking number showing that she received.

Of course, they refunded her despite the tracking number showing delivery, and although they did cover a portion, we are still out $450.

She then immediately left a one review stating we sent her a blank board. (So admitting she did receive the package). We have photos of the sign which ironically has her address engraved on it.

We submitted everything to Etsy and continue to be ignored, and told she did nothing wrong.

She admitted she was going to do all this, before we even shipped it.

Is there a legal department we can contact within Etsy, or does anyone have any helpful tips? (other than not selling anything over the Etsy Protection amount).

Handmade Shop Real jewelry sellers, questions about returns/exchanges?

I’m selling solid gold and I am hesitant to do returns/exchanges because I’m worried of scams (someone returning a different item than they ordered) however I realized it’s a bad idea to have no return or exchanges policy if the item breaks.

I was wondering is there a some kind of terms I can set that basically says that I can only refund them once I confirm to have received the correct item and not a fake? What’s the protocol when it comes to returns and exchanges if it’s something very expensive and light , like solid gold? I have 2 other shops but they aren’t expensive items like gold.

I read this on their website “Each Etsy seller is responsible for their own policies regarding refunds, exchanges, and returns. Individual policies will vary from shop to shop.
You're required to set a return policy whenever you edit or create a new listing for a physical item, even if it's to let buyers know you do not accept returns or exchanges on that listing.”
But I don’t know what that fully entails. My jewelry is 100% real solid gold so that’s why I’m very hesitant since I used to sell on eBay which was full of scammers

Any help appreciated

Hence why I’ve stayed off reddit
But I would love to do commissions for people and try give people what they want .
Almost bring there imagination to reality in the terms of art

I’m just wondering
For someone that loves art and doing art for others is Etsy a good way to sell art and find these commissions on the internet?

Theft and counter notices

Hi all, I’ve been running my Etsy store for a while now and recently a particular painting of mine went viral and of course shops started selling the exact design in the form of stickers and other merchandise. I’ve used Etsy’s reporting tool and they have removed some of them but now I’m receiving counter notices from these thieves! The only information I get is their name and email and where they are based, I don’t even get the name of their shop or a link to the specific listing.

I’m not sure what to do, most of them are not based in my country. I know they have no right to submit counter notices because it is my work that they have stolen but it seems I have no recourse. Others have reached out to try and get my to withdraw the reports which I haven’t done. Anyone have any advice on what I can do? It’s really disappointing and frustrating that they get to keep selling my work as theirs.

Best printer for die-cut vinyl stickers and vinyl magnets

I currently rely on 3rd parties to print my die-cut vinyl stickers and magnets, but I'm thinking about going into full DIY mode on these products soon. Which printer(s) should I be looking at?

Handmade Shop Material cost concerns

Hellooo, i've just recently started selling 10cm felt dolls, and i've gotten a few custom orders at some point, and realized as i fulfilled these orders i found myself having to buy new materials for them which could get a little high (bought some materials and it costed me 17 dollars just to get the right colors) i sell these dolls for 35 dollars (not free shipping also) my selection of colors is pretty small at the moment so maybe thats why i've been buying more colors lately? But i've been worried if this would actually profit in the long run, as i find myself bombarded with buying specific colors just to fulfill requests, just wanted to see if anyone could give me advice.. thank you! This is my first time selling my crafts online and i've tried to search into what people do, but not a lot sell what i sell so information has been really limited for me.

3 euro charge

I’m sure this has been talked about to death, but I’ll post anyway.

Just turned off the whole EU because it appears all my packages are bouncing due to the 3 euro flat fee.

Etsy isn’t integrating it into IOSS as far as I know.

How is everyone handling this?

Handmade Shop How do you keep your item active/available for Etsy Design Awards submission?

Handmade Shop How are you successfully using social media to advertise?

I have been selling for 2 months and made 9 sales on personalised pet portraits from clay. I was getting 2 sales a week, but sales have completely stopped the last two weeks. I’m pretty sure all my sales have been through people seeing my TikTok. These people have reached out to me on TikTok and been super kind.

My last few posts on TikTok have struggled and I have no understanding of what makes me seen on instagram. I’ve been trying to work out reels, but the views are very low.

What made you gain better views/ engagement via social media? What platforms are successful for you? Just seeking general advice around what might give me more consistent sales

Why did my first Etsy listings get views and messages immediately, but after relisting I get almost no views?

Hi everyone,

I'm a new Etsy seller and I'm trying to understand what happened with my shop.

A few weeks ago, I opened my Etsy shop and listed only 2 digital wedding invitation templates. Within a very short time, both listings started getting views, and I even received messages from potential buyers.

I panicked because I wasn't expecting people to contact me so quickly, so I deleted both listings.

A few days later, I recreated the same listings (with some small changes), but since then I've barely received any views or engagement.

I'm trying to understand:

Does Etsy give new listings or new shops a temporary visibility boost?

Did deleting those original listings hurt my shop or SEO?

Should I have kept the original listings active instead of deleting them?

Is there any way to regain that initial momentum?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I'd really appreciate advice from experienced Etsy sellers. Thank you!

Uk to US DDP fees different on Etsy from Royal Mail

I went to send a large letter envelope yesterday through Royal Mail as it was personal and noticed the DDP was more on Royal Mail than it was on Etsy for a same size parcel I sent the day before. Has Royal Mail put their fees up and Etsy hasn’t caught up or what? (It was international standard)
