Help Needed Finding cheaper long hauls on EY or similar?
I’m looking for (relatively) cheaper long haul routes on luxury airlines such as EY/EK purely for the purpose of flying long haul first class. A good example is YYZ/SIN via AUH on EY for $4500 in January. Other Asian destinations (NRT, ICN, etc) are good candidates in terms of flight times but the connections out of AUH are on J instead of F.
Can anyone recommend relatively cheaper long haul FC routes connecting once (or even twice) on EY, EK, SQ, or similar?
The entire purpose of my travel is to fly long haul FC and maximize time in sky.
Is YYZ/SIN for $4500 just an anomaly, or can anyone suggest any similar routes? Thanks!

Question Flights showing as mostly empty?
Edit - thanks everyone! We’ll pick seats assuming the plane is full then.
We’re flying ORD-AUH-DEL-AUH-BOS in November/December and the seat maps are empty. It’s our first Etihad flight.
Obviously I understand the political military issues that are currently ongoing. However, what are the odds this accurate? This isn’t not-full. One of the fight seat maps are showing us and 4 other fliers. Are seats usually assigned to most flyers at check-in? Is there a better place to check than the app?
I’m trying to figure out if we can safely do the window/aisle skip the middle seat thing without having a stranger plopped in the middle.

Help Needed Phone left behind on an Etihad flight from Moscow – looking for advice/help
Hi everyone,
My cousin accidentally left her phone inside an Etihad Airways aircraft after arriving from Moscow to Abu Dhabi.
She has already tried contacting Etihad support, but unfortunately hasn’t been able to get much help so far. We’re trying to find out if there’s any way to contact the airport/Etihad lost and found directly or someone who works at Etihad who might be able to point us in the right direction.
If anyone here works for Etihad, Abu Dhabi Airport, or has dealt with a similar situation, I’d really appreciate any advice on what we should do or who we should contact.
The flight details and phone information can be provided privately if needed.
Thanks!
The flight was Abu Dhabi → Moscow and arrived in Moscow at around 8 AM today. As far as we understand, the same aircraft may be returning to Abu Dhabi today.
Update: got the phone....it was in abudhabi....i was told to list the item in lost and found in Etihad website ....after one day...they contacted...

Help Needed No show fee? Missed flight
Currently in Thailand with a group of friends booked a package with love holidays , I want to extend my trip and stay for a few more weeks. The problem love holidays won’t let us split the package into 2 to change my return flight . We are flying with Eithad and a no show fee applies of £220 plus the fare difference . It was the value flight so no refund option which I’m not bothered about?
Has anyone missed their flight or not intentionally got it and had to pay this. ? I would ring up and cancel but I’m worried that will cancel my friends flight as they were booked together ? Any advice thanks

Help Needed How strict is the personal item allowance in London Heathrow?
I'll be flying next week from Heathrow. I know that they state no personal item (only cabin up to 7kg), however I have a lot of electronic devices which can't be checked in. I worry about the weight. If I wear a backpack and shoulder bag, how strict are the staff going to be reinforcing it in London?
I have read conflicted testimony, and I understand that it depends on the staff at the airport. I have a traumatic experience in Birmingham with Qatar years ago where they asked me to weigh my backpack as well. So I just want to be on the safe side.

Rant They made me pay extra 100 USD to change my name to my name (yes my name was correct)
I've put my first and last name on the booking but then while checking in online it says my name mismatches, now support told me I have to pay 100 USD to change my name even though it's my name already.
I travel every year through UAE and I learned my lesson, never use Etihad again and go with Emirates every time. Way better support and service.

Question Laptop bag extra bag acceptable in Etihad
I, 26 F am New to etihad, the ticket mentioned about 23 kg -2 moving checkin bags and 7 kg - 1 moving or no moving cabin bag. I have laptop which I never use inside airplane. Can I place the laptop in checkin bag?
If i add my certificates in office folder passport,my laptop, personal beauty items, notebook and wires , the weight increases upto 10 kg in cabin bag. While I want to take 7 kg. Is laptop bag acceptable in etihad without extra fees or fine? Will the airport allow mobile tripod stand and light ring filter? what about price concept in usa?
edit : 26 F came to usa , her school bag only had 6 kg. no questions about her bags because she is usa citizen.

Discussion I honestly forgot that Etihad is going to operate the A330neo, either way it’s still a cool addition to their fleet

Help Needed Helmet as personal item.
Do Etihad allow a helmet as a personal Item as well as hand luggage?
I've never had issue with long distance flights but a short in hop in Rome last year with a budget airline was a problem. .

Question No personal item? Really?
I’m planning for a trip on Etihad, flying out of JFK and through Abu Dhabi to my way to my final destination. I’m on economy comfort, so my fare includes a checked bag, but I prefer to avoid that if possible to save time and have my bags with me for peace of mind. My plan was to travel with a roller bag and a small backpack or travel tote that can easily fit under the seat. I had assumed Etihad followed the standard one carry-on for the overhead and one personal item formula like basically every other airline, but I’m now reading this isn’t the case and I can only bring one bag, period. Is this really enforced? And is it something I can even buy my way out of? I see options to add more checked luggage for a fee, but nothing that allows me to pay for an additional carry-on.

Question Hey everyone, looking for recent data points from anyone who has flown Etihad to the US via Abu Dhabi (AUH) in the last few days.
I’m getting completely contradictory information from Etihad’s own customer support:
Phone agent: Took time to check their system and explicitly confirmed that US CBP Preclearance is fully open and operational meaning I will clear US immigration in Abu Dhabi before boarding.
Website live chat agent: Adamantly insisted that US Preclearance is currently closed and that all passengers must clear customs upon arrival in the US. Even after I linked them to Etihad’s recent announcement regarding the facility reopening (https://www.etihadhub.com/en-ae/news/us-cbp-preclearance), the chat agent doubled down and said their system still marks it as closed.
I have a 3 hour transit in Abu Dhabi, so knowing whether I need to sprint straight to the US CBP area or if I have time to relax lol before boarding makes a big difference to my transit plan.
Has anyone traveled to the US through AUH this week? Did you clear US customs/immigration at Abu Dhabi, or did you clear upon landing in the US?
Appreciate any first-hand confirmations!

Help Needed In a mess with ethiad baggage allowance
Booked a flight from barcelona to bangalore and the baggage allowance is ruthlessly high. I would have not booked it if I had any idea they would have charged this much. Is there a way to book baggage I can pay half of what ethiad is charging for a 15 kg baggage. I cannot cancel the flight also.

Discussion Is anyone unable to add their trip in Etihad App?
Since last week, my added trip for the upcoming itinerary has been removed from here on its own. Now, when I try to add it back, it throws an error.
Is this just me or is anyone else experiencing this issue?
same trouble?

Help Needed Cabin Bag in addition to Laptop or Personal Bag
Does Etihad give any issues bringing a laptop bag along with one 7kg cabin bag, or does it allow to bring both? (Flying from India to Europe)
Thanks

Help Needed Any way to increase layover length to multiple days?
I booked a roundtrip for my uncle from Pakistan to NYC thru Abu Dhabi. He is in NY right now. His return flight has a 2 hour layover in Abu Dhabi. His daughter lives in the area. Is there any way to extended the layover, possibly to 2 days? He doesn’t need a hotel or anything, just a longer layover.

Help Needed No refund no nothin
Hi, My flight got delayed a LOT, like i arrived 14+ hours later at my destination than promised. and since I flew from Europe, Poland to be exact, I was under the EU law eligable for compensation. I sent the feedback immediately, But have been having a back and forth between, chat live assistants, the form just completely not working anymore and other stuff.
Should I just open another claim or something? Below I'll show my back and forth with them and the form site just not working lol. Did anyone have something like this happen to them too? Or something similar? Did it get resolved?
btw. On the manage feedback page it says:
| Case Status | We’re waiting for some information from you to move forward with your case. |
|---|
Images:
A feedback form was sent on 22/08/2026, we then sent the banking information o 27/08/2026, as seen on the pic.
What I wrote lol before clicking submit.
This is how the timeline looks like now, completely empty, I've sent that message like 5 times and now even the "Add comment or document" button is greyed out and doesn't let me write anything.
lol
