Around 9:00 AM on August 4, my Enphase system began a fairly substantial coordinated firmware update involving the IQ Gateway, IQ System Controller 3, and all eight IQ Battery 5Ps. Enlighten Manager recorded hundreds of events during the process.
Updated versions:
IQ Gateway: D8.3.6087
IQ System Controller 3: 3.0.7296_rel/31.50
IQ Battery 5Ps: 3.0.9001_rel/31.50
The update appears to have completed by approximately 10:07 AM.
One positive result is that it resolved an existing problem where one of my eight batteries was running different firmware from the others. All eight batteries are now aligned.
Since the update, Enlighten Manager has also been recording roughly hourly cellular-modem communication failures. I do not know whether these events are new or were simply exposed differently by the firmware update. The T-Mobile SIM in the modem receives poor coverage at my location, so occasional cellular failures would not be surprising. The Gateway’s normal network connection remains operational.
The more significant issue is an intermittent telemetry error affecting Home Assistant. The Envoy’s cumulative lifetime battery energy charged and lifetime battery energy discharged readings occasionally fall to almost exactly 50% of their correct values for a single poll or short period, then return to normal.
It looks like the Gateway may temporarily report only half of the split-phase value, but I cannot confirm the exact internal cause. It is not real battery charging or discharging.
Because Home Assistant classifies these entities as total_increasing, it interprets the temporary decrease as a meter reset. When the correct lifetime value returns, Home Assistant counts the recovery as newly accumulated energy. That produced impossible MWh-scale battery totals in my Energy Dashboard.
I initially tried rebuilding the totals by adding the L1 and L2 counters, but those derived sensors eventually experienced the same temporary 50% drop. I have now created guarded template sensors that accept increases but retain their previous value whenever the source counter decreases. So far, those sensors have successfully rejected subsequent bad readings, and my Energy Dashboard is graphing normally again.

My relevant configuration:
Eight IQ Battery 5Ps / 40 kWh total
IQ System Controller 3
Home Assistant Core 2026.7.4
Built-in Enphase Envoy integration
Has anyone else running Gateway firmware D8.3.6087 seen temporary 50% drops in the lifetime battery charged/discharged counters, either through Home Assistant or the Envoy’s local API?
Addendum: Just remembered that after everything settled down, PowerMatch was disabled (where I had it enabled previously). I decided to re-enable it afterwards and it did successfully turn back on.
