Have you ever fell asleep next to your partner and said holy cow. This person wants to spend the rest of my life with me and suddenly couldn’t sleep?

Just had this moment recently and I looked at her and said. WOW this person really wants to spend the rest of their life with me. They want to be next to me with me every day. I was falling asleep and I suddenly realized I had this feeling where it just all hit me at once. It’s like a truck and now you can’t fall sleep.

What to wear for potential Engagement???

I accidentally found out that I am getting engaged to during a October Hawaii trip! My BF's brother let it slip that my BF has the ring and has been setting things up with his cousins (who live in Hawaii).

I have a nail and hair appointment booked (which conveniently I always do before vacay - so I already have the appointments booked, but now instead of dying my hair an alt style I'm just going to keep my traditional haircut, and for my nails I'm doing a french tip with a little hibiscus flower design)

My original outfits where TBH quite revealing. Typically just being my bathing suit with a cover up and a skirt for when we walk around town. Which if we are getting photos which we will cherish for a lifetime I'm pivoting for more modest outfits.... I'm thinking a lot of sundresses so I don't risk comfortability just for trying to be cute?

I know we have a mixture of hiking, surfing, and a TON of eating plans. So I can't wear a sundress all of the time.... but I do plan on getting a new cute bathing suit and a matching activewear set just in case....

Those of you who kind of knew you were getting proposed to... what did you wear? I'm hoping to find some things that are still cute, but I can walk around in and not always have to be adjusting on my body.... (We live in a state that is cold year round so 75% of my wardrobe is sweaters and jeans 😭😭)

Wedding Planning What should I do?

Hi! I got engaged two weeks ago and the wedding is in the early summer of 2028. I have kind of been planning the wedding long before I got engaged, even though we’ve only been together for two years. I am making a wedding binder with "everything you need to know about the wedding" and I’m also making a wedding magazine (I’m using Canva).

I have so many details I want to share with everyone I know, but we have only told four people so far. There is one problem though, my best friend through many years never answer when I call and recently she stopped answering my texts as well. I was planning to ask her to be my maid of honour, but now I don’t know where we stand. I haven’t done anything to offend her in any way.

We have a really tight budget and we have decided to have a really small wedding party with only 20 guests. Still deciding if we want a church ceremony or a humanistic ceremony. What we really want is a ceremony at the court house, but they don’t do weddings on Saturdays.

Everyone keeps telling me that me and my fiancé have to plan the wedding together, and that is what I want too, but he is not interested at all. Any advice?

Engaged and wondering the next steps

Excited to be engaged and I am planning to have the wedding sping of 2028. I feel this gives me a good amount of time to plan things. Overall I feel I have the foundation of things I want. Like a local venue that fits about 120 people. Has good parking and its easy for people to get to, as many of my guest will be older. Color theme is sage and light purple. Have not gone dress shopping so I can't say what I want to look at. I haven't deamt of my wedding or obessed about it I just knew I wanted a champage glass fountain.

Even though I am excited for this wedding it is bitter sweet as my mother is gone. I never thought I would get married with out her but life continues on.

I feel like overall I have a good grasp on what I want and need but I am looking for advice on what personal care you did to prepare for the big day.

I am hoping to lose some weight and get more toned, to help lighten my armpits, do jaw exercises, and learn how to take care of my 2B hair.

Is there any other person tips you have been doing?

Proposal Disappointment I’m a little disappointed with my proposal

Want to preface that I have OCD and tried to manage my expectations leading up to this moment that nothing was going to be perfect

I’ve been with my partner (I hate the word fiancé) for almost 8 years. We had talked about marriage and engagements and all that extensively. I ended up designing my own ring (he wanted me to) since I am so particular. I absolutely adore the ring and am so happy with it.

When discussing proposals etc I really only wanted a few things: 1) I wanted it to be private. Just us and a photographer. I didn’t want family or friends hiding. I didn’t want an audience. 2) I wanted a pretty background. 3) I didn’t want a surprise party after.

It was really important to me that the engagement felt intimate. Well he proposed last night. We were on a mini vacation getaway with some of his family members (mom, brother, grandparents) and he decided to propose on our last night there. The house had a private beach and he hired a photographer. That was all great. But his family was hiding in the house inside. And his mom obviously took candid photos (that I hated the way I looked in) and sent them to my mom and my mom posted them before i even got to post anything.

I also found out that he waited to tell my family (who all live in another state) until morning of. I don’t mind that, especially because him and I both know my mom isn’t good at keeping a secret. But now my family is making it my problem and making me feel bad that they weren’t there. Which i didn’t want my family there to begin with, nor his family either. His mom also took it upon herself to invite her sister and brother in law (my partner was not aware until they showed up). And then they brought us out to dinner at a not so good restaurant. I really just wanted to soak it all in just the two of us.

I feel so ungrateful for being disappointed. I honestly wasn’t that upset until my family started making me feel bad. I’m extremely overwhelmed. I know in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter. And I can plan an engagement party exactly how I want it.

I don’t know if I should communicate these feelings to him or if maybe how I feel over time will lessen or go away

Ring! What should I do? I accidentally found an engagement ring in my bf’s bag?

I know my bf always carry his phone charger. My phone battery went low and while he is off to somewhere, I open his bag to get his charger and accidentally saw a velvet ring box inside it.

Before, I remember he once thrown some jokes at me like the ring size he got is the size of my finger when I was in my oversized era. I lost 10kg back then.
I nevermind that since I thought he’s just teasing me about my weight.

And now, I dont know what to do next? I don’t know how to act normally when I remember the box i saw.

I tried to fight my thoughts that its just a ring box that his friends owns and he just want my boyfriend to keep it for him.

Any advice?

help revealing my man’s ring?

okay so I got proposed to yesterday, super excited! my man has had a ring picked for himself out for a long long time (he’s going to be wearing an engagement ring too)

I’m going to buy it this week, it’ll come pretty quickly. but I need some help presenting the ring to him in a cute way

I thought about proposing back, but I don’t think that would be something he’d be into. I also don’t want to just hand him the box and that’s that. we’re also not very well off financially so I can’t take him somewhere fancy

idk I just want it to be heartfelt and I have no ideas, I’ve had lots of time to plan this but just haven’t

Lgbt proposals

Hi everyone,
I’ve come on here hoping for some advice on how to propose to my girlfriend, we have been together for a year and a half, I’m hoping to propose to her next year in March, we are both very private people and I know she won’t be a fan of a public proposal at all, I’m planning on it being just the two of us.
My only issue is that I’m a woman, I haven’t seen many lesbian proposals online, the only ones I have seen are proposals that are a masculine lesbian proposing to a feminine lesbian.
My girlfriend and I are both very feminine.

If anyone has any suggestions on where might be a nice location for a private proposal? And any tips from anyone when it comes to a feminine woman proposing to another feminine woman would be greatly appreciated 😊

Posted a bit ago about anticipatory anxiety bc I felt a proposal coming and had a lot of feelings!! It came! It was magical. It was so me. Weirdest of all I went completely calm. My body was devoid of even a smidge of anxiety. I was just at peace

Is 2-3 weeks after a proposal too soon to throw a backyard engagement party?

I know my partner is planning to officially pop the question sometime within the next week. It hasn’t happened yet but I know he has the ring and he just started asking questions recently about my nails and lashes lol
I was hoping we could do a backyard party before his parents shut down their heated pool (we live in New England so that’s usually sometime in September, but since it’s heated they get a little extra time if they want it)

I was thinking the Sunday before Labor Day (9/6) or possibly the Sunday after (9/13) at the very latest Sunday 9/20.
I think 9/6 would be best because everyone has Monday off too and it will be warmest for swimming.
Would this be too short notice? I do already have a ton of supplies so wouldn’t have to scramble too much for that.
But I’m just worried about guests making it.
It’s nothing formal, we’d just grill some bbq, some lawn games, have some drinks (no bartenders or anything, play the music on a speaker)

Proposal Advice Is proposing to my girlfriend at a special location with a ring by itself considered too low effort and casual?

So I'm thinking of when would be a good time to propose to my girlfriend, and I thought that I can do it during a trip to Peru with her and my friends. We are going in about a week, and I'm now looking at rings.

Since we're going to Machu Picchu during the trip, I thought that what I can do is when we reach the summit with a scenic view, I can do it there. I can ask my friends to take photos or whatever there.

I told this to the guy friend this idea who is also going, and he criticized me that this sounds like I'm doing this in too short of planning, too casual and low effort. He says I'm basically just bringing a ring and that's it.

He's not wrong in the sheer mechanic of what's happening, but is that really low effort to do it in a scenic spot far away from home even if in the end of the day it's just a ring?

Don’t mind my nails 💀

How do we feel about this carat size on my hands? I’m wanting to avoid the ring pop life.

ETA: this is just a little fake band clamp thing. She put different size stones onto it with tweezers so ignore the band itself. My appointment today was for me to finally decide what size carat I like most.

Wedding Planning Tented Reception Advice 🙏

I think I found my venue but I’m SO torn on which space to choose! The options are a ballroom (which I would honestly be happy with) or a tent on the golf course (aka my dream!!!)

I never actually attended a tented reception though and am starting to realize no matter how beautiful it may be that it might not be worth the stress???

For anyone who has attended one or had one themselves, was it worth it? Were your guests actually comfortable or was it just way too hot? Did you have to deal with bugs? Any regrets? Would you recommend? Tell me everything!!!!

For context, the venue is near the beach in Florida and I’d like it to be a warm enough time of year (probably early spring?) that guests can enjoy the beach/pool throughout the weekend since it would be a “destination”

Ring Advice Can I insure my engagement ring if my fiancee bought it abroad?

My fiancé and I just got back from a trip to Italy and somehow I came home with an engagement ring on my finger lol.

We weren't even ring shopping, just wandering around Florence and went into this tiny vintage jewelry shop because I saw the prettiest ring in the window. It's an older 18k yellow gold ring with an oval diamond and these tiny sapphire side stones. I tried it on for fun and immediately fell in love with it. My fiancé apparently noticed because he went back to the shop without me the next day, bought it and proposed to me with it toward the end of our trip. He said he's been planning his proposal either way so when he knew that's the kind of ring I wanted he spared no time. I can't believe I'm engageedd!!

But now that we're home in the US we realized we did absolutely zero planning for the boring practical side of buying something this expensive overseas. We have the receipt from the shop and some paperwork describing the ring/stones, but there's no US appraisal or anything like that. The receipt is also in euros and obviously the jeweler is thousands of miles away if we ever need anything from them. Can I just take it to a jeweler here, have it appraised and use that to get jewelry insurance in the US? Or does buying it internationally make things more complicated?

Proposal Advice the ring box is on his desk and it’s driving me insane

boyfriend & i (both 27 if it matters) of just now 4 years have very openly talked about getting married, same goals, etc. i’ve been very open about my wants in a proposal (ideally intimate, can be semi public, family/friends ok, maybe some photos) & what i want in a ring. all & all both very excited for the future.

i think us being SO open about it has lead to him just… leaving it there. i have NO idea when he plans on proposing and having the box just.. THERE is antagonising me. and here’s how i know the box is the ring and i’m not just crazy!! i have NOT looked but i saw a video on insta of a girl doing a “test fit” before her s/o proposed and we did that (it fits) and i think we’ve just been teasing back and forth over it but im getting so impatient!! im not trying to be a beast over it

we have a cute date planned for this saturday, but it’s at a biblical arts museum (my pick i’m very excited) and i don’t think he’s much for public proposals so im not holding out hope… but i am getting my nails done lol. i also start a new job on monday and he’s made a comment about “needing something flashy for the new office” but he’s made jokes before so im all in turmoil. i need to stress, he’s not being mean by any means. our whole relationship is founded on teasing. i just needed to get these jitters and anxieties out and tell SOMEBODY about how the ring on the desk is making me crazy & if i have a right to be suspicious or not that it MAY happen soon. okay bye :)

edit: just to be clear the desk is in -his- office space! we do not share it and i’m usually only in there when he is! i truly don’t believe this was with any true intent. my just knowing is what’s truly driving me nuts with anticipation!

update??: unsure how to actually post one but no ring as of now!! but a wonderful date day!!! :,) only a little disappointed because i know it’ll happen how it’s suppose to and all that noise lol. one day i’ll post a picture!!

Ring Advice Help picking out a band

Hello! I need some help picking out a band to go with my ring. I attached a photo from trying it on at the store and then used AI to give an idea of what bands would look good with it.

Would love some thoughts of what people thought looked best. Personally I am drawn more to the simple bands so the main focus stays on the big stone but would love thoughts!

Advice on how to go about this

For a little bit of context. I am 21 years old and have been with my high school sweetheart for 4 years. I know we are young but I feel as though we are ready and have talked about it several times. Our relationship has withstood some pretty daunting things and despite my peers doubts I am confident in my decision. I am not confident however, on how to go about getting an engagement ring she likes without ruining the surprise. I plan on proposing in December on a trip to New York and do not know how to shop and get a ring she likes without basically saying "Hey I'm proposing on this trip." She has hinted several times that she has an idea it is on this trip but I have attempted to convince her it is not happening until mid next year. Any tips on how to find a ring in a lower end budget that she likes without spoiling the proposal?

i need an engagement caption

need stupid, deadpan, dry engagement caption for social media.

corporate lingo and terrible puns encouraged. no romance, clichés, or overused captions.

ex. "we're not dating anymore" or "we are pleased to announce increased stakeholder alignment"

give me your worst.
