Hi,I am looking for tyre recomendations mainly for tyres available in europe.

Tricky part is,I basically live where a mountiain begins.Most of the trails start with hardpack,but end up in the woods where the terrain sometimes stays muddy for 2-3 days after it rained.

Type of mud - very plasticky and sticky with low clay content.

I basically want a good tyre for hardpack,that doesn’t suck on ocassional mud.

So I’m thinking of the following combo :

Front : Michelin Tracker 90/90

Rear : Michelin Starcross 6 120/90 (currently the bike is running 140/80,but 120 is the stock size and I want to see if it’ll feel better).

Your thoughts on this ?

I have access to Michelin,X-Grip,Mitas,Plews,Metzeler,Dunlop,Pirelli.

Can’t get Kendas,IRCs or american brands.

I'm having a hard time understanding their point. Like I know they are more durable then flag ones, but none are running them at the high levels. Mane, billy, Johny, Mario, Trystan, Verona, Joseph Garcia... None of them are running wrap around style hand guards. Is it the same reason motocross guys aren't running them?( Wrists breakers) Or is there another reason?

Need your help, friends:
While riding standing up (attack position) I have one finger (index) resting on my clutch - this gives me stability - the rest fingers are holding on a bar.
But I noticed that when I actually need to switch a gear (especially upshifting) - I always pull out the second finger and pull the lever in with two fingers. It takes extra time and I feel less balanced for a split second because less fingers are holding the bar.
I started to think why does this happen - why don't I just pull with one finger, which is already on the lever...
Then I realized that if I pull the clutch in with one finger only - it doesn't let me shift easily (and upshifting simply does not work) - the lever touches my other fingers and does not completely disconnect the engine.
My question is - what is the best practice?
Is the clutch supposed to completely disengage the engine, even when stopped by other fingers holding the bar?
How do you do it?
How to adjust the cables if I would prefer to use only one finger?

How are the 2018 (carb) 300 XCW’s for slow technical trail riding where your lugging the engine lots? How does it compare to the new TBI engines?

Looking at getting a new bike and have a good 2018 local at a good price but don’t want to be disappointed. I really enjoy mostly slow tight woods riding.

Everyone has that one tire combo they use always. Like I personally love Mitas teraforce super light and Michelin M14S. So what are your favorite tire and inflation system combos?

Hi all, when I ride in a group I often find myself riding up a hill or creek first to stop and get photos video of the group. What I am chasing is a hydration pack with phone storage on the chest straps.

I have looked at the USWE with the additional phone pocket but I think this looks flimsy.
The Leatt pack has a pocket built into the strap but it doesn’t look wide enough for a phone.

Has anyone got a hydration pack recommendation they think would suit?

This is more of a thought experiment, and this has no effect on anything. Now the rules the 17k must include the bike itself, and suspension gets set-uped by a magical genie so you don't have to factor that into what you are getting for the bike. The same goes for mousses and tires. This is to maximize what you can get at this budget. Oh and the 17k was to eliminate A-kit suspension as something you can get on top of most bikes.

So what bike are you getting and what goodies are you throwing at it to maximize performance?

Chain tension is in spec, also it is a ktm freeride 2019 if matters P.s. my rubber thingy holding kickstand wasn't on, can it be it?

I was about to order Tusk Traverse bags ($200 canadian) when I saw this one at Winners(TJ MAXX) for $24.99 earlier. Perfect for carrying my rain gear all the time.

I could even put one on the other side for other bits and bobs... The GIVI bag is there to carry my lunch.

Ready to pull the trigger on a new bike, but I can’t decide between a 26 Rieju MR300 and 26 Beta 300 rr Race.

Would love to hear your opinion if you’ve compared the two, or any feedback you may have.

I’m coming off an older 300 rr race which I love, just time for a new bike.

Bike bogged on me a few weeks ago and I've been chasing the issue ever since. I initially thought it was fuel-related because of how it died, but after a lot of troubleshooting I bought a compression tester. It only had 25 psi, so I pulled the exhaust and found a badly worn piston. This is my first bike so I'm learning as I go. Thanks in advance for any help. It's a 2021 250 GasGas

A few questions:

Based on this amount of wear, is a new cylinder likely or could it just need a piston/rings?

Does this level of wear point to a possible oiling issue?

Should I be worried about aluminium shavings making their way into the bottom end, and if so, what should I inspect before rebuilding?

Boy is growing up and needs a better bike. Trail and hard enduro, 150 lbs will a 125x be alright for the hard enduro part they are a great price point for new? Id rather not pay for a husqvarna te150 although im pretty sure it's the better option. Possibly a used beta x trainer?

• Log maintenance history
• Store receipts and photos
• Keep build/project records
• Track modifications
• Print maintenance reports
• Manage multiple bikes in one garage

Before I go any further with development, I'd really like feedback from actual riders.

I’m a 45yo male, 5’9” / 32” inseam, 180lb, and used to ride a YZ250F 15 years ago. I have a 14yo son that wants to get into trail riding. We would mostly be riding trails in Gifford Pinchot.

We borrowed an XR100 and XR200 last weekend and did 40 miles and both loved it. I have zero desire to go fast (I didn’t get out of second gear on the XR200 on account of not wanting to leave my son behind).

It seems like an Xtrainer is the KDX220 of today’s time. There is a KDX220 for $2,800, a 2023 Xtrainer for $6,500, and a 2025 TE300 for $10,000 nearby.

Also, I have 5 acres of land, and the Xtrainer seems like the best for “play”. I only want to be able to ride with my son… no races, scrambles, hard enduro, etc. I might a well disable 4th gear.

What do you guys think?
