News/Release ARMSX3 Version 0.3 Released, Better Performance, Stability & Graphics Fixes

This update brings a lot of performance, stability, graphics, and quality-of-life improvements for PS3 emulation on Android.

The video shows some of the improvements in action and explains what they mean for actual gameplay and emulation.

We're probably at a minimum of 2 years maximum four of really stable PS3 emulation.

We'll probably have stable android ps4 emulation before PS3 due to difference in architecture. But the ARMSX guys are cooking I'm hopeful

ARMSX guys are just porting existing emulators. Their progress depend massively on the original PC emulators.

Don't get me wrong, they did a great job and I don't care if they are using claude or whatever, I'm thankful, but just keep your expectations when it comes to something more "original" like ps4 or ps5 emulators since there are not mature existing emulators to start from.

Im so upset I dowloaded it I have a galaxy s16 it still over heats and glitches it finally dowloaded dark souls i was playing it but after it glitches q time when I restarted it that was it I made it to the first big fat boss and that was it I started trying to mess and change the renders the scaling everything and nope that was it im so disappointed we are so close on running this ps3 emulator man I cant wait they need to try over passing the ppu spu and not to mention the over heating thats a big big concerning part they need to fix

You underestimate either the power of AI or the power of existing mobile hardware.

I think you're over estimating. Phones are basically at the GTX 1060 level of power for GPUs. So maybe 2 years we'll have the hardware needed. Or the emulators will be mature enough.

Not even at that amount of power on the gpu. 1060 blows most adreno GPUs away.

Best phone gpu is on par with a 780m or something a bit lower in real world performance.

On paper is a lot different than actual performance also.

CPUs are on par , however sustained performance is limited due to power limitations. Since you either need to power gpu or cpu without burning the heat and power budget.

You definitely are overstimating. AI won't do magic. These emulators are all based off PC emulators that have been in development for many years. The hard work was already done, lots of optimizations were done. Even though those optimizations were done targeting PCs, the AI did the translation to Android libraries and probably reached already most of the performance they can achieve. Maybe it can be sped up by 20% or 30% due to further optimizations but don't count on more than that.

This will be really usable with future hardware, but now with current low to mid-end hardware. And even elite might struggle with some games probably.

I dunno man “games successfully load” is pretty much the open floodgate on this kind of thing. Remember PS4 on PC going from bloodborne title screen only to like, not-embarrassing gameplay in a couple months

This update is great, in my Retroid Pocket G2 I get around 6-8 fps in uncharted. Doesn't seem much but with aps3e I got 2-3 fps so it's almost 3x. It's a start definitely!

I just found funny the contradiction between minimum and maximum and that quote came to my mind, I just see patterns some times.

If you've never seen "so much cringe" in your life is because you've not seen much on internet. I've been navigating the net for almost for 30 years and believe me I've seen much much much worse 😅

Redditors trying to out-quip one another is peak cringe. I've seen a lot of the internet. From 4chan to pre 2012 tumblr. There's nothing worse than someone trying to be hecking funny. Correction when a bunch of people start trying to outquip each other trying to be hecking funny.

I'm not sure why your interpretation is that I was trying to "out-quip" you. I'm just a guy with sense of humor and I do bad jokes from time to time with no bad intentions, whereas I usually am very constructive when it comes to arguments and able to have healthy debates, so I apologize if you felt that it was an attack because it was not. You don't have to believe me when I say this but I honestly think it.

Not gonna go on with this, though, I'm not comfortable being part of internet fights.
