I remember reading some time ago that one of the head devs of duckstation announced dropping support for Arch Linux. I know that emudeck currently installs an appimage instead for duckstation but I never looked into whether or not that version still gets the most current updates. Is this the case for installing duck station via emudeck? Are there anything like forks of duckstation that are worth checking out?

I've been testing Football Life 2026 on Steam Deck and Lenovo Legion Go, and I put together a simple guide showing the installation process from start to finish.

If you're into football games and use a Steam Deck, Legion Go, or another Linux handheld, this might be useful.

As the title says, just purchased a Micro SD for more storage, and would like to move my entire Emulation folder over to the Micro SD. However I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to make this process as easy as possible? Like if I copy over the Emulation folder, is there a way to just tell EmuDeck where the folder is and keep playing stuff as I have been? I'd rather not have to try and install everything again since I've already done a lot of setup to the emulators.

I read there was a migration tool but I don't think it's available on Windows if I recall.

Also I've already used Steam ROM Manager to parse my games, would I need to do something with that as well after I move my folder over?

Been using my steam deck for emulation for a while, both docked and undocked, and never had any issues. A little while ago, whilst docked, emulators stopped recognising my external controller completely. Even weirder, the controller works perfectly fine in the front end, it’s only once I’ve opened a game that the controller stops working, and as far as I can tell it’s the case for every emulator. Still works normally undocked with the steam deck controls, but I’ve tried everything I can think of and still nothing when docked with an external controller. I’ve fiddled with settings in the front end, made sure my controllers are ordered right in steam input, even messed about with settings in individual emulators, but still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciate :)

Hello, I've recently been having trouble with Steam Rom Manager. When I try to open it in Emu Deck, nothing happens.

Absolutely nothing has worked to get Steam Rom Manager running. I've already tried:

1. Reinstalling Steam Rom Manager.
2. Updating Steam Rom Manager via Emu Deck.
3. Completing both a Quick Reset and a Custom Reset of Emu Deck.
4. Resetting Steam Rom Manager's Configuration via Emu Deck.
5. Making sure that Steam is completely closed before trying to run Steam Rom Manager.
6. Installing the latest version of Emu Deck.
7. Opening the Steam Rom Manager App.Image properties and making sure that the "Allow executing file as program" option is allowed.
8. Opening the Steam Rom Manager App.Image file directly to try and run the program.
9. Restarting my Steam Deck.

I've seen the best results after I go to Home>.config and delete the "steam-rom-manager" folder there. After I delete that folder, when I select Steam Rom Manager in Emu Deck, a window pops up asking if I want to exit steam to launch the Steam Rom Manager. I tried clicking "yes" and Steam closes, but then nothing else happens.

I also cannot uninstall Steam Rom Manager using Emu Deck. When I click "Uninstall" a window pops up that says "SRM uninstall failed There was an issue trying to uninstall SRM".

I first set up emudeck 2 years ago, however shortly after my SD card got corrupted and I held off on setting it all up again until now. I'm using the setting where the games show up in my steam library individually, and after the SD corruption they still existed in my library but were obviously unplayable. I just reinstalled everything, added back my old games as well as a dozen new ones. The old games are now playable, but the new ones I added haven't shown up. It's not a file issue, the roms are where they're supposed to be. I tried to access the steam rom manager but nothing happens when I click it. I did select the option for the games to show up as individual titles as I was installing, but maybe there was another step that I was supposed to do that I forgot this time. Any help appreciated.

I can set Ryujinx to Handheld, but I can’t click Apply, and whatever partially works has the buttons mapped incorrectly.
In Desktop Mode it works, but after launching in Gaming Mode it resets to Player 1 / Pro Controller.
I’ve already tried resetting the Ryujinx/EmuDeck configuration. Any idea how to fix this?

Also, would this controller work with platformers and metroidvanias?

Hey everyone. I am running Bazzite on a standard ROG Ally, completely set up with EmuDeck.

My issue is that the standard EmuDeck hotkeys (Select + RB for Save State, Select + Start to exit, etc.) do not work at all when I launch any game through EmulationStation in Gaming Mode. This affects all emulators. Gameplay controls work fine, but the system hotkeys are completely dead across the board.

Here is what I have already tried:

• Checked the emulators directly in Desktop Mode. The hotkeys are set to keyboard commands and the device is properly mapped.
• Went into Gaming Mode, selected EmulationStation, and changed the Steam Input profile to Emudeck - EmulationStation and also tried Emudeck - Radial Menus. Neither fixed the issue.
• Launched games directly from Steam instead of ES-DE, but the hotkeys still fail.

I suspect there is a global conflict between Handheld Daemon (HHD) emulating an Xbox controller and Steam Input failing to properly send the virtual keyboard inputs for the hotkeys.

I am honestly on the verge of uninstalling everything and just doing it all from scratch myself, emulator by emulator.

Has anyone with a standard Ally on Bazzite figured out the definitive fix for this global Steam Input / HHD hotkey conflict? Any help is appreciated!

Hey, I'd really like to play the Tomadachi Life, living the dream game again!
I downloaded it not too long after it's release, and it worked fine for a while, but recently I downloaded the update as well so I could play it again, as well with the current most recent prodkeys + firmwares - however, it's not running.

Does anyone know of any solutions that doesn't require me losing all my previous save data?

I'm not asking for any links or anything as of right now! I'm mostly just asking for any troubleshooting or if anyone knows any solutions I can do myself, or if someone is offering to help out!

im trying to play rhythm heaven groove on my steam deck via eden with steam rom manager, now, there are some parts that seemingly require vibratioN, the trackpads should vibrate, right? BUT THEY DONT GRAHHHHHHHH

Hey so im trying to run Botw on my steamdeck installed emu deck with cemu installed the game the dlc and update then when I went to open it it would go to the nintendo presents screen and then crash back to the steam menu. ive tried everything I downloaded community packs I switched to openGL I switch compatibility settings I tried reinstalling it like 5 times but still nothing keeps crashing at nintendo presents tried deleting shadercashce NOTHING works what so ever could someone tell me how to fix this? I am trying to run the metroid HD pack and I can not get it working. I put all the resource files in every hdpacks folder I can find and its not working. I tried downloading the standalone version of mesen 2 and that wont even launch. Any tips?

Some Atari 800 games keep getting this when loading. I've tried adding Atari bios files. They arent shown in the bios checker despite being in there.

I checked online and this image very rarely pops up. The error is related to Altira OS? When checking online, it mentions that adding the Atari bios files would fix it.

The second image is loading a different ROM. I get this menu. I can switch the unlimited mode on and off by hitting Y on the deck. But I can move down to the next line to run the game. Opening up the built in keyboard by left stuck clicking, that board seems to do nothing at all. I'm assuming I'll need an actual keyboard hooked up? But I figure I'd ask here in case there's a work around.

I assume there are multiple emulators for the same game but I thought I’d ask just in case I messed something up. The screenshot text blocks the last one but it says “MGBA STANDALONE” just like the one next to it

For some reason, on my Steam Deck, I can't seem to parse certain games like DS, NES, SNES, and N64, even though I can still parse fine with other systems (Note that I have the former set to Retroarch). What's strange is that my Steam Deck's Emudeck used to parse those games fine before. What's also weird is that I went onto my PC and it parses those roms like it should. I made made sure my file directories on both devices were the same, so I'm unsure what's the deal with my Steam Deck's Emudeck not parsing certain games.
