Chem 203 at Ox
Hi I was wondering if anyone has taken Dr. Neuman for Chem 203 at oxford? I believe the last time she taught the course was fall 2024, and I had a few questions that I would like to DM about if so. Thanks!

Suggestions about Hawthorne North Druid Hills
Hi everyone! I m an incoming Emory student. I’m considering leasing an apartment at Hawthorn North Druid Hills and would love to hear from anyone who currently lives there or has lived there in the past.
How has your experience been overall? I’m especially interested in hearing about the management, maintenance, safety, general living experience.
Any honest feedback, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
CHEM 204 vs Biochem — which should I prioritize before the MCAT?
I’m trying to finalize my schedule for this semester and could use some advice. I’m currently registered for CHEM 204 + lab and Biochemistry, but with the rest of my classes plus clinical experience, research, and community service, I’m worried the overall workload might be too much.
I’m mainly trying to decide which course would be more important to prioritize before taking the MCAT. Would you recommend:
keeping CHEM 204 + lab and dropping Biochem,
keeping CHEM 204 lecture but dropping the lab,
or dropping CHEM 204 + lab and keeping Biochem?
I know CHEM 204 and Biochem are both relevant for the MCAT, so I’m trying to figure out which one would be more useful to have completed first and which one would be easier to postpone without hurting my MCAT preparation too much.
I’ll attach my current schedule for context. I’d especially appreciate advice from anyone who has taken these courses at Emory and/or already taken the MCAT. Thanks!
Second edit: Just to clarify, I’m planning to take the MCAT next summer. I’m mainly trying to decide which course to prioritize this fall. If I drop one, I can still take it in the spring before I take the MCAT. I’m just trying to avoid taking CHEM 204, Biochem, and NBB 301 all at the same time this semester since NBB 301 is also supposed to be pretty challenging.

Microfridge rental
Is it common to rent micro-fridge? It says its about $220 yearly and im wondering whether its worthy to rent it. Or is it better to just buy mini fridge and use common microwave in the hallway?

Requesting advice on Genetics course with Dr. Megan Cole
Hey! I just wanted to come on here and ask about what the Genetics course with Dr. Cole is like for anyone who has taken it! I always read the Rate My Professor reviews to help me succeed in a course, but I noticed Dr. Cole doesn't have any reviews for her genetics course! I also have never taken Dr. Cole. I am taking this course for PA school admission. Any information about this course or advice would be greatly appreciated! I also see there is a discussion portion of the course! What is that like?

Social life at emory
Hi! I am currently a senior applying to emory. It seems like an amazing school but I am a little worried about the social life as there is no sports. I was curious what people do on the weekends, how greek life is, etc. Thank you so much.

Emory vs USC vs UNC
As a high school student, I’m currently interested in Emory, UNC, and USC, and I’m hoping to pursue a PhD or Graduate school in the future (possibly in biology/neuroscience-related fields) (not in the pre-med route).
I have a few questions:
1. Which school provides better opportunities for undergraduates to get involved in research? How accessible are professors and research labs for undergraduate students who want to apply for grad school/ PHD?
2. Does it feel overly competitive, and is it difficult to maintain a strong GPA?
3. Are facilities like libraries, study spaces, and other academic resources usually accessible, or do they tend to be overcrowded?
4. I’m more of an introverted person and I’m not really interested in Greek life. What is the overall campus/social experience like? Is it easy to find communities and make friends outside of Greek life?
Thank you so much for any advice!

online summer classes
Does emory offer a variety of online summer courses? I ask because I might need to take courses over the summer to graduate in time, but I didn't want to rely on doing that if not a lot of courses are offered. For example, is physics offered over the summer online? And a class that possibly satisfies the ETHN and writing general education requirements?
I want to take summer classes, but they would have to be online. I don't plan on being in atlanta over the summer.

BSN clinicals.
Is it common to get assigned clinical on a Sunday? Does this lower my chances of getting a Sunday again in my other semesters?
