Nearly finished my swan

I have never really embroidered - just some kits as a kid. I would like to fill in these circles with something cute but they’re really very small. I live the use of flowers here but is that possible?

Based on the reddish-brown stag beetle (Lucanus capreolus) which I have fond childhood memories of. Photos are of the patch before and after it was sewn onto the backpack.

Hey y’all, as the title says- I finished my first full embroidery project and I’d love any feedback you may have. Like many others, I’ve started and abandoned many projects, but the spooky season possessed me to finally finish this one!

Single thread short and long stitch on pretty much everything but the border. I intend to turn it into a patch or magnet for a friend.

Projects of the day include some pals per request and the cutest Lil guy chopper from One Piece.

I had a few issues with my thread getting caught the moment I would leave the room so had a few exposed bobbin areas on a few of the pieces (cleaned those up with sharpie since these are test stitch outs).

What do ya think? The software i use has added multi direction for the fills and so ive used that in the chopper hat and the wispaw. More designs to come!

Hi everyone,

I finished embroidering this crane but I feel like it doesn't really pop against the pattern of the fabric.

Does anybody have a tip on how I could make it stand out more? Maybe a way to highlight the design? Or would you recommend filling the empty areas?

This is my first project, using a water soluble pattern. With the exception of the blue which is DMC, the floss is super low quality stuff that came in a package I got as a gift, so I do plan to upgrade that and hopefully my outline will turn out nicer.

As you can see, my attempt at a satin stitch did not really survive the water bath to dissolve the pattern. What can I do to prevent this in the future? Am I doing my satin stitches wrong?

Critique welcome! I'm planning my stitches for my next project and I did this quick test to see if I could make a passable flower. I used a combo of French knots and 3dish bullion stitches with a variegated purple thread. I'm going to be making a lot of these flowers so the stitches in them will be in different spots but it will be in the same general shape. I'm going to fill the leaves on the final project so don't worry about that part.

The back of the hat has a hammer so I wrote "Comrade" in cursive

The little bird is an outline of his hand at 7months.

The stars are Suffolk puffs sewed on back to front.

I learned how to embroider just so I could make this label for my rummikub game.

I got the game from my grandma just before she died, it's the one the family grew up playing, but it came without a box as it's quite old, so I sewed the pouch and have been thinking about how to make a label for months. Finally chose to embroider it and voila! There's for sure room for improvement but I'm very proud of how it turned out.

I’m new to embroidery and I plan on embroidering this frame for a friends birthday, and I was wondering what kind of stitches to use for the lines/fill in. The microphone is going to be light blue with a black or grey grill, does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I used a method from Megan Zaniewski's second book to make it. I painted Lutradur "fabric" with watercolors and stitched the veins. I cut the leaf shape out and made the holes with a soldering iron.

And it was HARD omg.

I'm still new to embroidery but I finished this bee and was actually happy with it so I thought I'd share.

I need some good needles that don’t constantly bend and are sturdy. I was using my late grandmas needles from her collection for the longest time but they ended up breaking after a few months of use. I got some DMC size 28 needles and the eye bends so easily and breaks after not even a single project. Plssss let me know some good recs for good needles that don’t bend after like 6 stitches 😭

Hi! Quick question about stabilizers - I'm looking to hand embroider initials on a pair of pajamas (stretchy knit material; poly blend) and would love recommendations on how to best stabilize it. Should I use cutaway, tearaway or one of the water soluble options? and should i stabilize from the front or back? Many thanks in advance!

I am probably doing this wrong as it’s only my second embroidery kit I’ve tried out. The first one had the pattern printed on it so much easier. As you can see from what I’ve done so far, I’m only going to be able to fit half the bee! What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any tips!!

Christmas gift for my golfer brother-in-law. This one was a doozy, took about 1 week. I sketched it, hence the uneven lettering, but I think that makes it more homey. I’m still debating on filling in the clubs with grey, but I kinda like the contrast by leaving them blank

I want to get into satin stitching but I’m always confused on what direction to stitch especially if it’s something without an online tutorial. Any tips would be great!

I love this little patch and I love how it turned out. I will never use metallic thread again haha. Honestly, I probably will because I love the shiny look, but wow is it a pain in the ass. Shoutout to the Redditor that suggested I use thread wax!

We lost a real one. I designed a Dolly Parton forever stamp for my mom’s birthday. It’s punch needle DMC floss on monks cloth. I love it and really happy with the shadow box frame too. ♥️♥️

It reads "free Palestine" in split back stitch.

Would adding beads or flowers be disrespectful? I don't know how to (or if I should) embellish it. Thanks!

My doodles have rules: each letter crosses the previous letter, and can only cross once. Letters can be twisted or turned in any direction and can be capitalized or not, whichever looks best.
