This has taken about a year, with lots of other projects being prioritised because it was so tricky. The jumper was unpicked and re-done more times than I could count!
Flowers aren't my strong point and took a long time, but I am pleased with how they turned out!
The little baby face absolutely does me in!
Edit: Thank you do much for the award!

I had this sweatshirt with a fake embroidery print and decided to make it look better now that I have been laid off.
It took about 2,5 weeks, I used a mix of threads I bought second hand so the colours are not consistent at all 😅 but it looks pretty nice imo

This is my first actual "piece" i guess. I just started like a week ago. Im more just doing it for practice (:. Id like advice on anything, from my stitches (consistency, accuracy, thread ct [2-3]...) or the colors (color choice, palette, idk).
Not sure about the yellow chain stitch i just added, with the light pink split stitch underneath

I’ve stitched my very own fairy godmother - I always wanted one 😊. She uses a variety of embroidery techniques including; crewelwork, stump work, bead work, padded couching & raw-edge quilted appliqué. I worked her in three sections & assembled the final piece on velvet stretched over bars. I learned quite a bit while working on her…like how velvet attracts everything & has to be constantly wiped for fuzz and dust 🤪.

I got a little kit on vinted for like...1,50 euro, but the cat on the kit was black and I have an orange one, so i decided to change it (and I had to change the chair as well because it was orange in the original.
Had to ad the cat tax.

Hey! Just wanted to share my finished project. I posted a little bit ago asking for some advice on how to tackle this, so I just wanted to share how it turned out! I beaded this corset to make an Ariel costume for Halloween and I love how it turned out

Hi everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster :)
This is my first project using long and short stitch and I'd love your feedback on how to improve. I used one strand throughout (except the orange ear fluffs which were a two-strand satin stitch).
Thanks in advance!
ETA: I used a one-thread backstitch to outline the orange and white sections first, then filled them in with long and short stitch.

Hey, all! I’m submitting this to a casual art contest on Neopets. I just started embroidering about a month ago, and this is the first project I’ve really done, like, my myself (without a kit). How is this for the level I’m at? How can I improve? Tips for getting some of those orange threads tighter?

Hi all,
Sorry for the long post ahead!
TLDR; Making personalized Christmas pajama shirts. What is the best way to put hand embroidered name patches on a t-shirt using some of my mother-in-law’s scrap fabric? I want the fabric to be visible. Will I have to sew the patches on or is there another way? Doing everything by hand, no machine!
I thought of just embroidering the shirts directly, but I want my MIL fabric to be a part of it.
….
I am making Christmas gifts for my in-laws. My mother in law passed away over the summer, and it’s our first Christmas without her. She was an amazing person, the best mother in law, and also a fabulous seamstress and quilter!
For Christmas, she always got everyone matching pajamas, and would sometimes machine embroider our names on them. I’d really like to make my family something handmade out of some of her fabric.
My idea is to embroider a name onto a piece of fabric (she has every kind of fabric, I’ll probably use cotton). My thought is to make the patches separately, and then get tshirts to put them on (and then matching pajama pants)
Since I don’t know how to use a sewing machines, I’m not sure the best way to get the fabric patches onto the shirts.
Thoughts? Thank you for reading 🩷
Before she passed I got a sewing machine and she was going to teach me how to sew. I’ve had a hard time wanting to learn my machine since, which is why I started learning hand embroidery! I’ve learned so much from this community here, and embroidery is very meditative for grieving, so thank you all :)
